Thank you! I'm so bad about uploading videos, so I'm glad people are still enjoying this build! Someday I'll finally finish my endgame renovation and post an update.
I seriously love everything about this! The build, the attitude, the lighthouse, all the potted plants, the OFMD Stede Bonnet reference...Hope you make more of these videos!
Well done! Beautiful raft! Iove the research tower and your beautiful storage system! The view from your bathroom is hilarious. Imagine locking eyes with your first made as they're steering. 🐺
I just found this video and it makes me cry... I love the game and sometimes play it with 2 or 3 friends but we finished the plot content and they kinda abandoned it and I want to keep builing.. I want to play this game with people like you that enjoy he building and decorating.. I love your Catamaraft. I have not watched other videos of yours yet, but I hope you were able to add to it and make it even more beautiful. I wish i could join you on it^^ Keep floating, Yasha
This was over a year ago on a previous raft, but I will NEVER be over it. He wasn't on voice chat, so I just watched him in silent horror as he stared me down, chomping one raw potato after another.
You've come up with so many amazing ideas. Terrific creativity! I guess it's also months/years of experience along with creativity, which ends up with such incredible design. Well done, and thank you for sharing it with the rest of us!
Yep! We finished the story a few days ago. Now I'm just working on hoarding titanium for all my upgrades, but we've got big plans to build a museum and a few other updates to the design.
This is one of those times when being an introvert pays off. I ☠️ when you said you had one and a half friends. I'm exactly that person who is cheering the half friend on. I aspire to be a half friend some day!
Great raft design, one of my favorites! I'd love to see the redesign if you've completed that. I got the game like a week ago, loving it, already planning a large build lol..
Its been a year this game is awesome my wife and i started up again and came back here to see your awesome build! We wanted to know how what you thought of chapter three and if you plan on doing a tour of the build Post CH 3? Thanks for all the motivation.
I hope so! Honestly we've added so many more potted plants after chapter 3 that the frame rate might be too broken even for me 😆 a tour might have to wait until after I next upgrade my computer
I arrived kinda late to this but it's gorgeous! I've always wanted to make something big like this but the amount of effort and planning you must've done are incredible. I can't do all that 😅 You can tell it's gonna be good when the game runs so slow lol. Again, amazing. Any chance we get an update with Ch3 things at some point? would love seeing that!
Yes! We finished chapter 3 within 24 hours of it dropping, but shortly after, I left the country for a month and a half and haven't been able to do much gaming. We have some big plans for the redesign, though!
This is an amazing raft!!!! I watch these videos in hopes to a lil inspiration. My raft is so plain but im also very new to this game. Im also not very creative in general 🤷🏽😂
I am so envious of projects like this. I wanna make big big rafts like this, but I don’t know how to move stuff around (not that I cant in game, I just can’t move them around in my head) and I’m not usually good with decoration. Plus my fairly small raft already makes my computer go brrr 😅 Edit: Wait there was a hat mouse update in chapter 3!?
My first mate called me "the Jeff Bezos of the apocalypse." I'm going to feel really weird meeting all the new NPCs in the next update when I roll up to a crumbling radio tower, steal all the things lying around, exchange two sentences with the person stranded there, and then sail away alone on my mega yacht full of hoarded resources.
A lot will change with Chapter 3. That is a lot of storage. Of course I find it more challenging to make a smaller boat that works perfect. There is a mod for diagonal beams. Seagulls still can not go through open doors. They have better crop plots though that hold 4 each for small and medium and the large one is about 2/3 the size. I'm not sure the small one would be any better, but the medium ones are WAY better. Each bee hive needs to be about 1 square from 12 flowers.
They have to be attached to a vertical wall, rather than placed on the floor. Then you just carefully place them one on top of the other. You should able to fit four per side of a two-tile wall. It's more space (and resource) efficient than the large storage chests. Good luck!
No, this is survival mode. For some of the more complicated structural elements, I built versions of them in creative mode first so that I could figure out the layout and construction, but this was all built just from grinding resources. Once you get a bunch of collection nets going, it's much easier to gather materials in bulk. Still took about six months of playing on and off to do something on this scale, though. Enjoy the game! It's one of my current favorites!
What kind of FPS values are you getting on that Behemoth?! My raft is only 9x22 wide and I'm already getting drops in FPS. My ideal FPS is at least 60 fyi. Edit: Forgot to say that the coloured chests are an excellent idea. Now I don't have to second guess which chests are used to contain which items haha.
Lol, this is NOT the raft for you. FPS drops into the teens when I have other stuff running on my computer. Someone who wanted to take a look at my save file told me they were getting 12 FPS. I'm willing to suffer a fairly high dose of jank in service of all those string lights and potted plants, however. The colored chests are because I play a great deal of Stardew, and now any game that doesn't have them is a grave disappoint to me. It's part of the reason I don't use more titanium chests--besides being less space-efficient, you can't paint 'em.
@@basewitch Damn those FPS values would give me a heart attack. My raft hasn't even been put to the test yet since I'm expecting some multiplayer friends to join me for Chapter 3 content once they're free. Once they're here my fps can go the way of the dodo. As for the chests, can't believe I didn't make the connection, since I'm also a Stardew player. I also rarely use the titanium chests since space wise they're just not as efficient as 4 stacked medium chests, except for food. I use the big chests for food becuase I like to see at a glance what kind of reserves I still have and it's easier to grab the ingredients when recipe making.
Hmmm I think it's because I try to eat (and now with chapter 3, drink) fancy food instead of just your basic grilled food. Your hunger and thirst decays more slowly when you have that yellow/blue bonus bar from better stuff. Plus, it depends on your difficulty settings. I think mine are default, but needs decay more slowly in easy and peaceful modes and more quickly in hard mode.
Somewhere between five and six hundred. There's a day counter on the bridge, but I can't tell what it says in the video. A lot of that was just grinding for resources, along with my endless quest to accumulate enough potted plants to tank my fps rate so much as to make this raft unplayble
Armored foundations! They cost 1 metal bar and two nails, and you place them over existing foundations with a hammer. Technically, you only need the exterior facing foundations armored, but as I built this boat slowly as I grinded more resources, most of the foundations pieces were once exterior-facing, so almost the whole base of my raft is armored. Also, is the shark called different things in different regions? He's called Bruce in the American English version of the game--I think they first call him Bruce in the radio tower. I assume it's a reference to the vegetarian shark in Finding Nemo, despite this shark constantly trying to eat me.
The "tradition" of naming sharks Bruce originated from the Jaws films, I believe. Bruce is what the crew named the mechanical shark used to film those movies and the Finding Nemo shark was named in reference of that
Once you start smelting metal (which you can collect from reefs), you can build armor around your foundation blocks using metal bars, nails, and a hammer. Also, sharks won't find you in the water if you're a certain distance away from your raft, so if you anchor your raft far enough away from an island, you can drop a shark bait in the water, swim over to the island, and scrap a reef with no intervention from Bruce (until you swim back to the raft).
When the shark goes to bite you, right as the mouth opens stab it with your spear and strafe left or right, it will miss you and you can get 2 to 3 stabs on it, it takes 1.5 wood spear and 1/3 metal spear to finish the shark off, they will spawn again in about 5 minutes, and youll get useful shark meat to cook. When the shark attacks your ship 3 strikes with a wood spear or 2 with a metal spear will get it iff your raft, and you can use the wooden hammer to repair/replace the piece attacked.
@@anubirex what I mean was in the later game how do I protect my stuff, like I know she’s not on the deck of that massive ship fighting bruce. How do I prevent it from attacking.
All the external-facing foundations/collection nets are armored, so there's nothing for him to chomp on. Also, not for nothing, but when you have a raft this massive, sometimes he takes a while to find you when you're swimming around the boat.
Love this! You did an incredible job and I can see why your friend so strongly encouraged you to share it! Awesome work! I LOVE that garden!

You should totally post an update tour! Thoroughly enjoyed this video. I'm new to Raft and your ideas have inspired me. Nice video!
You should definitely upload more. I love your way of speaking and your creativity is insane! :)
Thanks for the tour! Your lighthouse is a work of art!

Thank you for sharing your awesome Catamaraft! Guess it is time to get my friends together and start rafting again.
Your friend eating raw seed potatoes as you internally die is crackin me up. This raft is absolutely amazing!! Kudos! Have fun in chp 3!

Fantastic creative and beautiful and all done in the most grindy game on the planet. This is amazing I want updates x

все классно 😊 , но как вам удается играть в 15 FPS ? я бы и в 30 не смог )
My biggest question, is how do you deal with Clarence (the shark) O.o
Armored foundations! They cost 1 metal bar and two nails, and you place them over existing foundations with a hammer. I dont understand the enjoyment of playing at 10fps
Do you not know how many things are being rendered at once? Of course there is going to be a major framerate drop.
@@tidewater8818 I think it's pretty obvious to see how many things are being generated. Still not fun to play games with such a low choppy framerate
you have 2 fps 'cause you build so many raft in 1
Just why!!!
