  • As we head towards Christmas, post-Thanksgiving, we want to take a position of gratitude as we give our time and resources to others. Do you have a family tradition of volunteering at Christmas? Are there people you give more time, effort, and help too?
Christmas is a time when we remember to give to our loved ones and to give to others in celebration of the birth of Jesus. It is important to do so out of our personal gratitude to God.
Meghan Marshman teaches from 1 Thessalonians 5, "give thanks in all circumstances."

This sermon topic was so moving for my wife and me. We are dealing with some health issues and we both struggle with “Why Lord?” instead of being grateful for the ways God is blessing us and holding us up and together. Thank you Meghan and thank you Willow Creek. We live in North East Ohio but are tuning in on UA-cam for the Sunday morning service. Blessings to all.

I love hate love when a sermon has the momentum of a knock out punch. Thanks for that.

I just finished doing a deep study on 1 Thessalonians. I love Megan and hadn’t listened to her in a while. In this moment in life I wanted to turn on a show and check out, but I came here to UA-cam instead to see what she’s been teaching, and boom “rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances”. God makes no accidents, big or small. Life has me wrestling hard with this scripture, and it’s incredible that really by accident I’m here right now.

Do we underestimate the privilege of prayer?
Every story we read in the Bible of those who prayed, God miraculously answered .
Why? Because they ( we ) prayed. God still answers prayer today.
