Alot of people are saying "that its not working". If you are playing in 1.10 and it isn't working even though you did everything right all you have to do is break the block directly below the water source! I had the same problem and I was messing around with it and this fixed it. Hope it works for you!😊👍
F3+P to unlock screen so you can ALT+TAB out without going to menu. Then change Attack key to any key and hold it then ALT+TAB out and you can mine away for ages. I used it alot myself.
for those wondering, this still works in 1.16! Just make sure to destroy and extra block under the water supply! And make sure the redstone dust are not dots, you can right click them to change them! This has proven very useful for an smp i recently joined
@@TheHalalStudent double check the restone, sometimes it can take a minute to cycle through too. And make sure the lever does indeed set it off! If it's still not working im not sure what to do :(
This design still mostly work in 1.14.4. to fix it since the new water mechanics messed it up put a wooden stair behind where the cobble would be. Put the back of the stair facing yourself and water log it. any pick can be used as it doesn't have enough time to break the stair before more cobble is made.

Make a gold farm in the nether, get som apples and make golden apples. 3. Make a splash-potion of weakness. 4. Find some zombie villagers, throw the potion at them and feed them a golden apple each. Soon you will have villagers. 5. Breed them. 6. Build an iron farm. 7. Kill your first iron golem and get som iron :) Simple as that :P But it works :P
If your pickaxes aren't getting into the hopper below you, just add one outside the door facing in. Servers with the "Clear Lag" every once in a while can get annoying, but stone picks are worthless :P Good design!

Nims. I just used this on Xbox One and it works like a charm! In a hour or so I filled up the large chest. Enough stone to build two iron golem farms. I've moved to a more efficient build, but for this build being so simple it is worth its weight in gold!

A couple of the Hermits have noticed Nims' stuff recently - Hypnotizd built the AFK Fish Farm in his single player LP world (and in the following episode he expressed how pleased he was with its performance), and xBCrafted built the Bulk Sugarcane Farm just a day or two ago on Hermitcraft. I couldn't agree more that Nims would fit in well on Hermitcraft! :D
The pics aren’t shooting out? Then just make sure all the hoppers are connected together You do that by placing them (while crouched) at the hoppers droppers (while looking at the selected block)

I just want to say thank you a million times here I have never seen a stone farm this good. I made it over the summer for my brother and my world and my grandparents were over so I went into afk and went fishing, or playing golf with my grandpa and afterwards I had a full double chest and more on the ground. NimsTV For Skyblock mode (the version of this build with only one lava), you don't need that protective wall preventing the lava from flowing away.Water and lava always flow toward the nearest hole, or holes if there are two at equal distance from the lava/water. This means that the lava would flow into the two holes without the extra wall there if you have a block covering the water hole and another block covering the lever on the other side.
I have a small clamp. :) My keyboards are all wireless as well, so even easier. Assign the key, set the clamp, put the keyboard aside and read a book to my son. :)
I was having an issue where sometimes when my pick broke I would grab a cobblestone. Solved this by placing single cobblestones in my inventory instead of the torches like you used.
these kinds of builds are kind of pointless on a single player game. instead of keeping your computer running minecraft for hours on end while you're away, just go into creative mode and give yourself as many stacks of the item you want and pretend you were away for a day. one kind of exploit is identical to the other. .
KreVor that's exactly my point. if you're going to bother with afk farms, might as well just skip the afk part and spawn the items in. both are equally exploitative.
They aren't identical btw, because the afk farm uses up pick axes as well as time in exchange for all that cobble. The point that you aren't seeing is that there is fun to be had in solving a problem within the constraints of strict survival mode. There is no "one true way" of playing this (or any) game - the best way to play a game is whatever way is most fun for the person playing it.
GSVDeathAndGravity Absolutely agreed. The difference between the satisfaction of finding the diamonds to mine and whatever feeling you get from typing the "/give" command to fill up your inventory with diamond blocks.
GSVDeathAndGravity you can toss the pick axes and spawn the stacks you would've hypothetically gotten while in "afk" without actually bothering with the "afk" part.
This is a great thing to know how to build, slightly more difficult to do the "AFK" part on an xbox, but great nonetheless. The best guides I've seen so far!
But it has a flaw, in a skyblock server (not a private one) items on the floor will de-spawn so all the picaxes that u havnt picked up will be gone and once your original pick breaks you will start to punch with your fist
Very nice setup, very compact. Only trouble is that the droppers fill up and you lose picks to despawning. There is a fix though, and it doesn't affect the footprint. Move the hopper that takes picks from the chest back one space so it feeds into the bottom dropper. Place a dropper pointing up into the front block under that chest, and turn the hopper you stand on top point into it. Now picks you don't pick up go into the pick chest, so you can't overload the system. This blocks the route to power the bottom dropper, but you can run a line around the back, under the pillars you start the build with, and reach the hopper from the other side. I actually moved the original redstone to the left side and ran the new around to the right, and kept the footprint the same size as the original.
I found that if you have obsidian then use it on the block behind the water source. If you just use cobble it will sometimes break the cobble letting the water flow and ruining the redstone.
Just a little tip: Set your attack key to R, or any key at all, and hold it down. Then press f11 to exit full screen. Now you can let go of the key and it will mine for you! If you want to do this while doing something else on your PC, go to your .minecraft folder, and in options.txt you should see 'pauseonlostscreen'. Just set that to false, and save the file. Now, once it is auto mining, you can just alt tab to any other program you want, and you will still be getting cobble!

I am not subscribed yet but I will in a second. To improve your farm I suggest put a third lava block right in front of you and put a sign where your head is. I have not tried it yet (sorry) but I'm sure you can find some way to do it. Keep up the good work I love all your farm videos.
If you want to use this with food, take any item that restores Half a bar (for instance clownfish) and put it in your off hand and depress both keys (right and left) You will eat the clownfish whenever nessacery.
You can improve this one to be 100% lossless using 4 pistons, 2 more hoppers, 1 comparator, 2 redstone torches and 6 redstone. Still only takes up 7x5x8 space.
THIS IS GREAT I play on a server that makes diamonds emeralds etc. with the generator I will also have to extend the chest and hopper spaces so I can hold a lot more and make diamond picks and two double Chests of them but it will work out I have a plan so this is a great video overall thanks so much

HALP - I've double & triple checked the construction of my farm, the cobble stone goes into the chest, the pickaxes get taken from the chest and sent into dispensers and they pick axes dispense and i pick them up. But for some reason, the pickaxes they keep getting dispensed and I dont pick up (because full inventory) they get shot outside of the machine instead of going back into the chest/the hoppers/dispensers. by the time i mine an entire stack of cobble, other than the pick im using to mine, all the other picks are spat out the side sitting on the ground (the side with the redstone)
1.8 + 1.9 if you want to afk do this : Turn Youre button that you're gonna use for afk farming ( in this case mining) to anything on you're keyboard . Hold The button you chose to a keyboard butten and Press F11(Fullscreen) Keep Holding the keyboard button. now press F11 Again and release the keyboard button
Tip Enable Mouse lock instead of leaving a weight, It holds click for you so you dont have to go through the difficult process of leaving a weight on your mouse or on your keyboard, Just google how you do it, its easy
there is a way to get it mine without pressing anything. you first need to go to windowed screen (i have button for that in F11) then when its windowed you press mine button down and press now fullscreen button and when its changing from windowed to fullscreen you need to stop holding if it doesnt work try it again.
it works at first, the cobblestone spawns in the middle and I followed the instructions exactly, then I break that cobblestone then cobblestone forms at the side and the center is just water? help! I used a lot of resources for this ;-;
Instead of using weights or keybinds or autoclickers, hold down the attack/destroy button, and unplug your mouse USB, and it should do the work for you.

Can u make an afk mining filter. I play skyblock where the c generation can also create ores. I want to make it so only diamonds iron gold and emeralds go into the chest not the lapis redstone or cobble
There is a glitch where u click and go full screen at the same time u repeatedly hit same with jumping and sneaking to stop it click again. Hope this helps! 👍❤️ I will make a tutorial on my YT channel soon.
Wow is all I can say man I love this thing just afk at night and tons and tons of cobble. Build it up a bit and attach a automatic furnace rig and it gets even better !!
There is one problem with Skyblock. This generator requires Iron and Redstone which we don't have in the original Skyblock. (I'm new to Skyblock and don't know much of it, so don't yell at me for not knowing.)
For some reason I think my pickaxes are despawning... itll work for like maybe 20 minutes cycling them but next thing I know they disappear they arent in the chest the hoppers or the droppers
I have this running in Skyblock (1.7.5) but I'm having issues with the cobble I'm mining getting mixed in with pickaxes. So I often find my self holding cobblestone hitting the cobble block in the generator. The cobble I'm mining is flying around a lot. Some goes into the lava, some of it sits on top of the stone pressure plate in front of me. There's noting preventing the cobble that's flying around from getting into the hopper I'm standing on (with carpet on it) where all the pickaxes cycle around.
Found a solution. Rather than filling your inventory with torches or other random stuff. Fill all sections of your inventory (including quickbar) with 1 block of cobblestone. Leave one spot empty in your quickbar for the pickaxe. You will see cobblestone added to your inventory, and if cobble does get into the pickaxe cycle, it won't effect you since it will just end up in one of your cobble stacks leaving a spot open for your pickaxe. You'll likely run out of pickaxes before your inventory fills with cobble.

***** It's constantly dropping pickaxes the whole time but it just goes back down into the hopper your standing on if you don't pick it up, and then cycles back into the droppers and shoots back out at you again, and repeats.

This was working just fine in my skyblock for a while. Then it started to generate cobble just above the hoppers where the cobble is...

wat I did was build a seprate hopper-chest system under the water. you can then connect the 2 systems into one

The pressure plate on the back of the machine can be replaced with a sign or a solid block.

For anyone on 1.13+ just destroy the block behind the middle hopper so the water flows down, this will stop the sides turning into stone.

1.8 + 1.9 if you want to afk do this : Turn Youre button that you're gonna use for afk farming ( in this case mining) to anything on you're keyboard . Hold The button you chose to a keyboard butten and Press F11(Fullscreen) Keep Holding the keyboard button. now press F11 Again and release the keyboard button

Tip Enable Mouse lock instead of leaving a weight, It holds click for you so you dont have to go through the difficult process of leaving a weight on your mouse or on your keyboard, Just google how you do it, its easy

there is a way to get it mine without pressing anything. you first need to go to windowed screen (i have button for that in F11) then when its windowed you press mine button down and press now fullscreen button and when its changing from windowed to fullscreen you need to stop holding if it doesnt work try it again.
it works at first, the cobblestone spawns in the middle and I followed the instructions exactly, then I break that cobblestone then cobblestone forms at the side and the center is just water? help! I used a lot of resources for this ;-;
nvm! I just had to break the block directly below the watersource :)
Instead of using weights or keybinds or autoclickers, hold down the attack/destroy button, and unplug your mouse USB, and it should do the work for you.

I still use this design today across several worlds.

Can u make an afk mining filter. I play skyblock where the c generation can also create ores. I want to make it so only diamonds iron gold and emeralds go into the chest not the lapis redstone or cobble
And I am just waiting for the next mcpe update so I can build these farms, it's not that far away!

There is a glitch where u click and go full screen at the same time u repeatedly hit same with jumping and sneaking to stop it click again. Hope this helps! 👍❤️ I will make a tutorial on my YT channel soon.

Wow is all I can say man I love this thing just afk at night and tons and tons of cobble. Build it up a bit and attach a automatic furnace rig and it gets even better !!

There is one problem with Skyblock.
This generator requires Iron and Redstone which we don't have in the original Skyblock.
(I'm new to Skyblock and don't know much of it, so don't yell at me for not knowing.)
For some reason I think my pickaxes are despawning... itll work for like maybe 20 minutes cycling them but next thing I know they disappear they arent in the chest the hoppers or the droppers
I have this running in Skyblock (1.7.5) but I'm having issues with the cobble I'm mining getting mixed in with pickaxes. So I often find my self holding cobblestone hitting the cobble block in the generator. The cobble I'm mining is flying around a lot. Some goes into the lava, some of it sits on top of the stone pressure plate in front of me. There's noting preventing the cobble that's flying around from getting into the hopper I'm standing on (with carpet on it) where all the pickaxes cycle around.
Found a solution.
Rather than filling your inventory with torches or other random stuff. Fill all sections of your inventory (including quickbar) with 1 block of cobblestone. Leave one spot empty in your quickbar for the pickaxe. You will see cobblestone added to your inventory, and if cobble does get into the pickaxe cycle, it won't effect you since it will just end up in one of your cobble stacks leaving a spot open for your pickaxe. You'll likely run out of pickaxes before your inventory fills with cobble.

***** It's constantly dropping pickaxes the whole time but it just goes back down into the hopper your standing on if you don't pick it up, and then cycles back into the droppers and shoots back out at you again, and repeats.
just to say unless you do not know this works on console so if you play ps3 or xbox 360 or above it works!
is there a way to make it spit out pickaxes much slower? Im on a server that slows hoppers to reduce lag and i got a giantpial of picks on the ground

If i do this, it work for like 5 blocks and after that the middle block doesn't become cobble, but the 2 side lines
If you do the water and lava in opposite places is it a obsidian generator/farm?
