    Keep the Demi videos coming!
    There just isn’t much out there on these neat little things.
    Thanks for taking the time to make your videos they are VERY helpful. I like your narration.

    I love this camera and your video was great. My Demi sometimes takes two or three advances to get the shutter button usable. 🤔 any idea? Made my trip to Budapest a little nerve-wracking.

    It appears Canon didn't think this was going to be an issue (or they didn't think the camera would last that long).

    Another great video.
    I've fixed many cameras now with the aid of your advice.
    I've just picked up a pentax k1000 that needs a replacement wire to the battery terminal, could you tell me what gauge wire I should be looking for?
    Keep up the great work!

    Ah! I've been working on a auto winder for an M645 & couldn't get solder to take to the contact. Will have to give the high temp solder a try. Thanks & good to see you post again. Regards!

    • @FixOldCameras
      @FixOldCameras  2 роки тому

      High temp compared to electronic solder. Low temp compared to jewelry solder, which has a much higher percentage of silver content. The solder that will work melts at 430 degrees and uses an acid flux. The acid flux must be used, but used sparingly. www.amazon.com/shop/fixoldcameras/list/1CDQ6R946F4CG
      Would also recommend using an old soldering tip as the acid flux is corrosive to the tip.

    Hey, thanks a lot for doing this. I figured out how to open and close the body thanks to your guide. But my problem now is the yellow wire from inside the cds light meter is completly gone, its too old. Is there a way to open and rewire from the circuit? I know its a long shot but, would be great if there is a trick to that. Thanks a lot!

    Help finding the small rotary tool/dremel seen at 2:35 please. It wasn't listed on your AMZ list (the link on description is wrong btw).

    • @FixOldCameras
      @FixOldCameras  2 роки тому +1

      They are a carbide bit. The one in the video used to burnish the contact is extra fine. They have now been added to the AMZ list. You might also be able to find then at a store that sells nail tech supplies.

    I just got one of these cameras and I really love it so far, but my cameras film advance lever doesn't spring back after advancing. Is there anyway I could fix that? Thanks for this great work you've done with these informative videos!

    Hello, I have this camera and the button on the bottom of the camera to rewind the film back into the cartridge will not retract. How do I repair this problem? Can you enlighten me with some suggestions? I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.

    Hi
    I don’t know if you will pick this up, however I have a conundrum for you a little like your Pentax with the little spring that you said, all you can see it do is stop the lever action from back winding and so you removed the spring and set it just a tad, so that you Pentax now works with a full lever action, well I have discovered a weird one, Pentax ME Super lever action works, blown out with air, isopropyl to dislodge and clean gunk, but the action works and fires fully when holding horizontally fires every time, turn it so base is facing upwards and two actions later it’s like you’ve put it in bulb mode, turn back and a couple more actions, and it’s back to firing again, turn again through 90% so top is facing upwards and a couple of actions and it’s like bulb mode again. Nothing seems loose but it’s almost like gravity in either of the positions of holding as normal or turning it to look at the bottom, is having an effect on something in action. Any ideas? In Advance Regards David New Forest U.K.

    Do you know what function of the small board with the horseshoe that the wires are soldered to is? I cant see it described anywhere. I dont think mine has continuity.

    Thanks to your videos I've repaired a Pentax k1000 and now bought a canon Demi S for really cheap at a flea market with a functioning meter! Trying to clean the stuck shutter leaves.
    If you could do a video of the lens disassembly that would be awesome!
    Thanks again, your videos are really awesome and I love them

    Great video! Got a question about my Canon Demi EE17 - meter seems to be working fine and I get decent exposures with auto, but the needle in the viewfinder seems "blocked" - even with very intense light it won't go higher than about 3/4 of the way up, just below the f8 marking. Any idea what could be going on with it?

    • @FixOldCameras
      @FixOldCameras  2 роки тому +1

      Possibly a galvanometer positioning issue. Or maybe even as you suspect it is being blocked by something that is in a misplaced position.

    Hi
    I have worked on my 2 of Pentax ME Super cameras today and find that everything is working other than when I turn the camera to its operating position, on its back the shutter fires on all speeds and seems quite accurate, however when put into normal photo taking position, after about 2/3 winder actions, it reverts to bulb mode on all modes, turn back on to the horizontal and 2/3 actions and it Atari’s firing as it should. Any hint of what it could be would help. Much appreciated Regards David DG New Forest U.K.

    • @FixOldCameras
      @FixOldCameras  2 роки тому +1

      Sounds like gravity is affecting lever position and engagement due to a disconnected spring. It is probably the white nylon lever accessibly under the top cover nestled next the shutter speed control. Could also be a spring only accessible by removing the mirror box.

    I'm having trouble with a Canon ae-1 program. I got it working except the light meter. It always flashes 32 saying everything is overexposed.

    Sorry for an off topic question but I’m a little stuck at the moment. I have a ae-1 program that is giving me trouble. Every time I hit the shutter release it beeps rapidly and won’t stop until I hit the battery check button only to continue once I hit the release again. I have tried multiple, brand new, batteries and the problem continues. Any ideas would be appreciated!

    I've watched loads of your videos and love them! Is there any chance I could get some knowledge on how to fix a jammed advance lever on a minolta XGM? Does it follow the same principles as the X-370 video?

    I have one of such cameras, was my favourite together with an Olympus Pen back when I used to shoot film, but its light meter suddenly died! I've even got a donor body to try to get it fixed, but sat on top of this matter for the past... 15 years?!
    Great content! I might just give it a try to fix mine myself! I'll let you know when I do

    Hey I have a question regarding the nikon fg video you did some 6 years ago. I tried swapping out my shutter button which is in the advance lever. Like the silver thing to push down. Now i have bought a broken nikon fg to take apart but I ran into the problem that the shutter button doesn't come out as easly as in your video. I can't even get it out forcefully. On my working fg though it just falls out without anything holding it in place when I turn my camera upsidedown.
    Do you have any tips on how I can remove the shutter button from my old camera ?
    Hope you still read the comments, I'm really lost on this one
