Honestly I love Goku Black.....I think he is a Amazing Dragon Ball Villain.
He was basically a Final Fantasy villain. Say what you want about that arc, but Black/Zamasu was easily the most interesting villain of the series. With the other villains it's usually "unga bunga, I'm gonna fire a bigger ki blast than you and destroy the planet/galaxy/universe"
Ain’t nothing wrong with being unga bunga. Cell frieza and kid buu were all still great villains. You don’t need good writing to be interesting
Ironically FF has unga bunga villains that are fun too examples: Garland and Zenos

Yeah Goku Black and Merged Zamasu were a menace. Black's Scythe that opened the Dimensional Rift could spawn infinite shadow clones (actually called that) that dispersed upon a single hit, but after turning into smoke, they reformed as well, so basically unkillable infinite shadow clones. In the Anime Black got stronger by simply being hit, but in the Manga he had to be healed by Zamasu, since Supreme Kai Apprentices can heal and restore energy (IE Kibito). Furthermore Super Saiyan Rose was Black's version of Super Saiyan in the Anime, while being his version of Super Saiyan Blue in the Manga (He actually went Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2 in the Manga). My theory for it being Super Saiyan in the anime is that since he's a Deity already, and had Divine Ki ingrained in his very soul, he skipped the need for Super Saiyan God since he already has Divine Ki (Chi for Manga fans). And Merged Zamasu in the Manga was even worse, since whenever he was seperated into multiple pieces, each piece would Regenerate into an individual Merged Zamasu, and since he could now regenerate, he didn't need to be healed and grew stronger after Regeneration like Cell. So even if you blew him to bits, unless you completely Atomize him, he'll come back stronger, and with multiple copies of them. All with the ability to teleport anywhere in the Universe thanks to KaiKai (Supreme Kai Teleportation, which doesn't require him to sense energy, and can travel between Universes as well). He also mentioned there was a Time Machine in Universe 12 that he'd use if they tried to run away again so they also had to summon Zeno to Erase the Timeline there. Beerus also mentioned in the Anime that Immortals can't be destroyed by Hakai, although in the Manga that doesn't hold true since Goku used it and almost succeeded if Zamasu didn't summon Future Mei in front of him to force Goku to stop unless he wanted to Erase them both from existence, no afterlife.
