    Hello Jay, I am a 41 year old guy who is being rated as a loser and good for nothing by his own family (parents, siblings and relatives). I got a wife who is awesome and 2 lovely kids 7 and 3. I have left everything to walk on a path that i always wanted to but due to family pressure I never did. Seeing your video just made me smile and positive about taking sensible and more calculated risks moving towards my goals. I don't know if I will also experience the success that you did though already have wasted too much time and peak years. Thanks for being an inspiration for me.

    I only found your channel recently and have been addicted since, I wanted to know more about where the channel came from and some background so watched this. Hearing you talk about just breaking 600K subs and been so unsure on whether you would even reach a million and now your on 3.87M was heart warming. Genuinely I don't think I have seen anyone on UA-cam more deserving of the subs, income and life you have earned for yourself. I think I would watch you doing videos on anything as its not so much the content (which is always great anyway) but that your personality is just so relatable. Although I am very late to the party I am glad I finally found you and your channel bud. I know this video is 6 years old but I just had to comment as I was so moved by it. Wishing you and your family much continued success, health and happiness.

    • @CallieCEntertainment
      @CallieCEntertainment 8 років тому +3

      Chris Harris I wasn't referring to his ability to speak in front of a camera. I was referring to what he actually *said* in the video about making a plan and getting things set up and rolling, making provisions for his family and his safety nets instead of jumping headfirst into it and possibly blowing it.
      Too many people act impulsively and end up losing. By following a plan, he's winning and that's a great example to be set.

    Jay I want to thank you for everything you do. I have gained a lot of knowledge from your videos and you helped me figure out the new hardware for my PC build. Also you are a UA-cam creator that inspires me to continue pushing the UA-cam grind and I hope to one day do it full-time. If I could utilize my time on UA-cam that I waste at my 9-5 job my channel would be so much better, but I am not going to stop and you help me stay motivated! As for the favorite moments I too have many to list, but I love the product reviews and benchmark videos! The desk build video inspired me to do the same for my main PC desk!

    You have single handily changed my entire viewpoint and aspect on pcs, youtube, the entire tech community as a whole. Youre personality and approach in your videos are so in tune with my own, and the sense of humor along with it. Just recently found the channel after considering buying a pc, about 2 months ago. Now, i think ivve probably watched at least 90% of your videos since then. I was really worried at first as i was coming from console gaming, but in that time frame ive not only built my own pc, but actually have it OCd and am constantly modding it and customizing things, mainly due to your channel actually taking my small interest and exploding it more than i ever imagined. May not seem like a lot to most people, but i am a disabled combat vet who tends to be stuck at home 90% of the time anyway, so building an interest like this and gradually moving into an enthusiast myself has actually given me something i can do with all my free time and actually look forward to. Thanks man, really

    I gotta say Jay this was one my favorite videos of yours. Youre where i want to be later in life. Im just a 19 year old kid with a bad past behind me and plenty of bad choices haunting every day. Most people are straight up assholes anymore. Its just nice to see someone genuine like you having a good life and not trying to drag others down. Being able to work at home with your wife and kids is something amazing in itself. Thanks for all the entertaining content and thank you very much for the inspiration. Actually, this is my favorite moment. You just described what I just did, only without the UA-cam. I just quit my job last month to run a not-for-profit organization that builds computers for people in need. I was doing both jobs for a long time, but finally, took the leap, and now I am travailing the country, making deals, and bringing a lot of people joy.
    Thank you for reassuring me that I made the right choice. Especially when it comes to the family. Who knows, maybe someday I will post videos on here as well.
    Just subscribed to your channel... and this is my first UA-cam comment ever. Congratulations to your success.

      +James Mclean First, thank you for your service and sacrifice for this great nation!
      Second, as a simple 22 year old civilian, we just make do with what we have. Networking. It happens in the weirdest ways, but let people know that you're looking for an opportunity. You survived the military. The shit we do on a daily basis doesn't come close to that. Being so highly disciplined, you shouldn't have an issue finding decent work. Be willing to get out of your safe zone. Study some sales techniques and sell sell sell yourself in job interviews by highlighting your strengths. Civilians love sales lol.
      Unless you're in a bind, do not accept the lowest offer. People will pay you pennies if you're willing to work for it. Don't be. Find something a step up and go from there. Oh...and if you want real raises in your income, be willing to change jobs. 3 years into a job and some new guy makes more than you? Leave. Someone else is willing to pay more for your experience than your boss ever will. Don't be that guy that stays at the same job for 20 years and complains about his low wages. He looks complacent because he isn't willing to change and they'll keep getting away with his low pay.
      I received a $4 raise, bonus opportunities, and easier working conditions literally overnight because I left a place that did not value me for a place that actually needs me. They're not even in the same industry, but more of a sidestep as both utilize sales and I touted my organizational skills.
      I know you didn't ask for it, but that's my short 4 years of adult experiences summed up and I hope some of those tips offer some value. Good luck to you in Civilian Land!

    I think you have 3 REAL friends. Most people count their extended social network, people they can have a drink with-those aren't real friends. It is actually almost impossible to have more than about 10 REAL friends. Indeed, many people don't have 3 real friends, or indeed any, even though they might appear popular. Count your blessings.

    My favourite JayzTwoCents moment was this heartfelt video, from one neurotic to another!
    Regarding leaving your job, if all else failed you could build custom p.c.'s for a living. I've built 5 myself for personal use over the past 15 years or so but it's too time consuming when you're a perfectionist.
    I'd love to leave my job. I've given 14 years of my life and thousands of hours overtime to my current employer but was denied a week's pay last month as the exhaust rust that cut my eye and gave me conjunctivitis under my truck happened at home and not at work. I was even wearing safety spec's.
    Meanwhile, a colleague has just had a week off with paint fume induced headaches and dizziness but will get paid even though he did it at home because he'll just say he had a cold.
    I'm biding my time as I only have 3 years left on the mortgage and it would be foolish to quit now and I know myself well enough to realise that I'm better off staying put for a while. The cost of fuel is the only thing keeping me there as I live only a mile and a half from work. It's frustrating as hell but I know that it will all work out in the end, as it did for you Jay.
    Well done and keep up the good work!

Not to mention from watching your videos i feel like you are kinda a friend of mine i would have no problem helping you if i could. And i can tell you. You have a lot more friends here on youtube .... Why not for example find an empty parking lot and invite people to show off their cars and talk a bit ? i'm sure at least a couple people would show up i know i would if i lived close to you.

    youtube must pay more than everybody sais on the other websites (I know you cant talk about that just saying) I mean the general rule is 0.8 per 1000 views so yea considering that people have adblock that many are double or triple views which dont count... its not that a big of a deal in terms of income this video for example now being at 158k should yiel 158*0.8=126.4 usd maximum... considering that many of your videos have less than that and that you dont upload daily that means that youtube money comes a lot faster that people tell us (.8 per 1000 "valid" views)

      +Bill Killernic spnsors for example from the sponsored adds at the beginning of the videos. I'd take poison before i'd say ANYONE on youtube are putting in those 100% for free.
      He also has this amaon thing, that's bound to bring in some dollars.
      Also he said it's one of FIVE income areas. So things stack up

    • @VenezuelaNow
      @VenezuelaNow 8 років тому

      +Bill Killernic Actually you're way off on your calculations, there are many other factors, short videos make less, the demographic that watches is the biggest factor in what you make. Young demographics which is the majority of YT views pay less. Middle age content pays the most but much lower views, but what they pay is head and shoulders makes up for the reduced views.
      Once Google Adsense verifies the views and you don't get paid it's not .8 per 1000 more like .2 per gross verified 1000 views on average for main stream young (14-35) content.
      it's a crap load of work to develop and grow a channel to real income levels.

      They aren't really free... they have to keep up their UA-cam results, the competition is pouring in because nowadays everyone wants to make money from making videos, and Google is still a private company which can be subject to turmoils of all sorts. It doesn't seem secure or free at all, being dependant on Google's ad revenue.
