For your question about the end table/couch/black shelf; I would say find a cute large plant and put it in between the two shelves to break up the space but keep those pieces where they are
Keep the green pillows, find velvet navy blue bean bag chair covers, put your two bean bags opposite from the window in that little nook, put the big side table between the two bean bags, add a identical ikea shelf to the same wall.
Then you can have a cozy reading nook and the bean bag chairs can be used more for the nook and facing the window with a cup of coffee on a rainy day or people could sit in them the opposite way and have a big movie night, where if you had actual chairs you’d have to move the chairs around a bunch
You can also keep all the pillows (which you’ll probably do) and trade it out every season even if they are just “summer colors” just to change it up. Also towards the end of the video you mentioned assembling both shelves. I think it would look really nice and add the symmetrical vibe in that little book area. I say go for it and mr Kate has a good video on how to design shelves like those!! Just my personal opinion! But I really love the vibe of your house and the layout of everything.
for the black shelving unit = get a small plant sits on the top of the unit, that hangs off the side long! hang it off the right side (if you're facing it) that way it will break up the awkwardness of the shelving unit beside the end table, but it won't take up floor space like a small potted tree/plant would! it would add a really nice pop of colour without ruining your colour scheme!
For the nook area I would add an accent chair or two then use the blue velvet bench as a coffee table/foot rest for the two chairs. Move the bar cart to where the glass end table is now and separate the two black shelves one on each wall. That way everything will be symmetrical when you’re facing the nook.
I like the side table next to the black shelves tbh. It really doesn’t look bad because the trims of the black and gold is the same width like It truly doesn’t look bad to me and I’m obsessed with decorating. Just my opinion
you should definitely keep the artwork in the living room! If you don't keep the green pillows, it still works if you have other plants in the room! Love the style y'all are going for.
what if you try keeping your end table where it is next to the couch, but turn it the other way so the side that is currently against the wall is against the side of the couch. Then, you fill a little more of that wall space horizontaly and you can hang a little pic, or mirror or something between your black shelves and the end table.
I think you should use just the top part of the side table on the other side of the couch. Or move the big shelf to the side where the floor lamp is and maybe put the plant in between the two tables to tie in the green.
I think the shelf/ side table combo looks fine if you're going for like a point of separation if that makes sense. if you want it to be a continuous space I don't think its terrible, but i dont think you should move the table to the other side if you want more of an open concept.
I like the no blankets on the bed looks nice and clean! Keep the bedroom rug for sure. Maybe change the drawer knobs to brass ones in your room. I think the shelf and side table look just fine next to each other :)
Switch the shelving with the bar chart. With a palm or something on that wall. And you should think about making that nook a sitting area with two chairs?! It’s a weird set up now kinda. In your bedroom you should consider getting two more of the urban round things and space it out like: *.* this layout?
My one piece of advice for your space is less is more!!! I know it’s a work in progress but I feel like there’s so much going on in the living room area. I say get rid of that side table and get something smaller and more simplistic. Maybe add some natural wood elements! 💕
Push the black shelves to the right slightly and move the table a little bit away from the couch. It will make it look like there isn't such a big gap between the two.
Yay Morgan I love these types of videos so much!! so glad you moved to Los Angeles!! I am from North Carolina too! I also recently just finished a project inspired by you a few days ago. I did my one one second a day for a year after seeing the few that you did and just thinking they were so cool! So thanks for the awesome idea a few of my friends and some of my family is doing it now too! much love morgan!
rug in your room: LOVE! Ties in all the colors and its a really dope pattern. Living room: I really like the green and I think it goes well with the rest of the room because everything else is pretty neutral. As for the coffee table, i do think it looks a little weird next to the giant shelf thing, but maybe if you put something in between it, it will break it up. Maybe like another big plant? or even those fluff ball things if you arent looking to spend any more money. Or if you do figure out a way to make the end table fit on the other side, the floor lamp would look nice next to the couch and then put the fluffy things next to the bench like where the floor lamp was just cause it makes it cozy (:
you should build the second shelf and either put them next to one another or on the other side of the room and move the bar cart. also keep the green pillows and the rug!!
I'm a bit late but the gray ottoman that's in your livingroom would work In your closet room. You could use it to sit and put your shoes on or something.
I love that rug under your bed! It ties everything together nicely. Also I think the green pillows looks the best, especially with those prints. Have you though about using that navy bench for the entry way?
Leave the side table where it is in the living room and put the bar cart on the same wall while moving the black shelves where the bar car used to be! Then all the gold will be on the same wall and the black shelves can be alone on the smaller wall.
I love this series because I’m currently in the process of moving too and you have such cute ideas that I could never think of lol. Chaos coordinator!!
Def set up the other black shelf put it on the other wall and move the bar cart in between the couch and shelf for sure I think that will look the best :)
another idea for putting stuff under the coffee table like the second level is to put a very large plant terrarium like a bowl one or something like that!
I like your last idea of using both of the shelves and moving the bar cart. Maybe swap the wide end table for something smaller? Also I love the rug in your room! It adds some color back in from all of the white going on! And the neon sign should go on the dresser for sure! Loved this vlog! Keep us updated. 💜
Okay as far as the pillows go I think they all look great however I would remove the light blue ones because it’s too many colors, eventho they are adorable! I agree that the green ones help the plant art work tie in!
Decorator tip: I put clients shower products in amber apothecary bottles and label them so your shower products have a uniform look and still look pretty.
I think moving the side table to other side of the room would most likely look best. And then I would either put the bar cart and then the black shelf or just the black shelf in the middle of the space with a floor lamp beside the couch. And then I also suggest putting some pillows on the bench to include it into your color pallet. Love the moving vlogs and your channel 💙
I feel like you could move that side table next to the couch, to a different location. Then you could move the lamp and try a skinnier, circle side table to put next to the couch and you could add the lamp over it/near it, or get a tall plant. Just my suggestion and maybe do a black table instead of that gold.
I would add more storage for glasses near or on your bar cart and have a variety of different types of glasses. It's easier (and less time consuming) to make drinks for yourself and guests when you're not constantly having to get a glass from another room. Your room is finally coming together though, looks great!
Why not try to put the pink bean bag and the grey puff in your closet room... i think it matches with the upstairs color scheme. Also I love your style and how the house is coming together.
Didn't think I would like the rug in your room but it looks great! Also, the side table does look a bit odd next to the shelving in the living room. I would suggest put a big basket or some type of décor box to store some extra throw blankets or pillows. Would look really cute!
I love the decor! But I feel like adding something to every space can make a room look too cluttered or it being too much going on. A little separation and space is good too :)
why don’t you put the book shelve where the bar cart is and then put the bar cart where the book shelve is. Maybe it will even out the space on both sides.
For your question about the end table/couch/black shelf; I would say find a cute large plant and put it in between the two shelves to break up the space but keep those pieces where they are
Mardi Marek or like a basket for blankets
Lauren Schroeder yes! Good idea! :)
i agreeee
Exactly what I was gonna suggest. Put a plant in between!
Keep the green pillows, find velvet navy blue bean bag chair covers, put your two bean bags opposite from the window in that little nook, put the big side table between the two bean bags, add a identical ikea shelf to the same wall.
Then you can have a cozy reading nook and the bean bag chairs can be used more for the nook and facing the window with a cup of coffee on a rainy day or people could sit in them the opposite way and have a big movie night, where if you had actual chairs you’d have to move the chairs around a bunch
put a big floor plant between the end table and the bookcase shelf and tie it together with succulents on the end table/coffee table!
Turn the table next to the couch sideways so the higher part will be next to the couch
i like the rug laid out under your bed in your room a lot and i like the living room/pillow situation as well!! its coming along really beautifully :)
Try the rug on the diagonal at the end of the bed. It adds asymmetry along with the texture! And I love the blankets thrown on...cozier!
But I really love the vibe of your house and the layout of everything.
thanks so much for all your feedback!!
The rug and the circle in your room look good!!
for the black shelving unit = get a small plant sits on the top of the unit, that hangs off the side long! hang it off the right side (if you're facing it) that way it will break up the awkwardness of the shelving unit beside the end table, but it won't take up floor space like a small potted tree/plant would! it would add a really nice pop of colour without ruining your colour scheme!

Move the bar cart to where the glass end table is now and separate the two black shelves one on each wall. That way everything will be symmetrical when you’re facing the nook.
I would say to turn the rug the other way? Or pull it out from under your bed more cause why do you want your pretty rug to just be under your bed?
you could switch the bar cart with the shelves since the bar cart is similar to the side table?
I like the side table next to the black shelves tbh. It really doesn’t look bad because the trims of the black and gold is the same width like It truly doesn’t look bad to me and I’m obsessed with decorating. Just my opinion
you should definitely keep the artwork in the living room! If you don't keep the green pillows, it still works if you have other plants in the room! Love the style y'all are going for.
you can try switching the bar cart and the black shelf, since the bar cart is gold it'll match with your side table more

Y’all should’ve just called mr. Kate and called it a day
If only she worked w/ creators our size haha
Morgan Yates I ain’t know she didn’t. My bad 🤗
definitely keep the rug!! it ties the whole room together
I think you should use just the top part of the side table on the other side of the couch. Or move the big shelf to the side where the floor lamp is and maybe put the plant in between the two tables to tie in the green.

I like the no blankets on the bed looks nice and clean! Keep the bedroom rug for sure. Maybe change the drawer knobs to brass ones in your room. I think the shelf and side table look just fine next to each other :)

if you put a plant between the shelf and the side table it'll create a wall like feel and could separate the two areas
I'm literally dead at you using a chef's knife to open boxes.
My one piece of advice for your space is less is more!!! I know it’s a work in progress but I feel like there’s so much going on in the living room area. I say get rid of that side table and get something smaller and more simplistic. Maybe add some natural wood elements! 💕
Oo I love the rug! Definitely ties the room together
Is there a vlog that has all of your jewelry organization linked? I’m obsessed
i miss u and ur cute house
put the basket with the pillows and the blanket in between the couch and the big shelf from ikea!
Push the black shelves to the right slightly and move the table a little bit away from the couch. It will make it look like there isn't such a big gap between the two.
I feel like if you get a lamp with a black base for the end table by the couch, it will tie in with the black glass shelf.
Yay Morgan I love these types of videos so much!! so glad you moved to Los Angeles!! I am from North Carolina too! I also recently just finished a project inspired by you a few days ago. you should build the second shelf and either put them next to one another or on the other side of the room and move the bar cart. also keep the green pillows and the rug!!
What if you switched the bar cart and the single black shelf? The glass and gold cart would look good by the side table!
Move the bar cart by the pillow thingies and the shelf where the bar cart is??
I suggest putting some plants between the two stands! similar to the one between the tv stand and shelves
room clean has me at a level 72! Shocked!!! Go Morgan!!
I'm a bit late but the gray ottoman that's in your livingroom would work In your closet room. You could use it to sit and put your shoes on or something.
the rug in your room looks soooo cute yes def keep it!!!
I LOVE the rug in your room! And I think the love sign might look better on the dresser with the other pink things 💓
I love that rug under your bed! It ties everything together nicely. Also I think the green pillows looks the best, especially with those prints. Have you though about using that navy bench for the entry way?
You honestly deserve more subscribers because so much time in to this channel
can you just switch the position of the black shelve and the gold bar cart? that way it doesn’t look weird with the gold/black clashing
Get rid of the lamp in the corner next to your black shelf and build the second set of shelves and put it right next to the first one!
Leave the side table where it is in the living room and put the bar cart on the same wall while moving the black shelves where the bar car used to be! Then all the gold will be on the same wall and the black shelves can be alone on the smaller wall.
I like the green pillows! I feel like it compliments the color of your couch super well
I love this series because I’m currently in the process of moving too and you have such cute ideas that I could never think of lol. Chaos coordinator!!
Def set up the other black shelf put it on the other wall and move the bar cart in between the couch and shelf for sure I think that will look the best :)
Instead of moving the end table you can try switching the barcart with the shelf because its closer to the color of the end table.
True! But the reason we wanted the black shelves was to fill some of that giant wall space :/
I like the rug and the blankets on the bed
yes girl, that rug looks SO good!
another idea for putting stuff under the coffee table like the second level is to put a very large plant terrarium like a bowl one or something like that!
Queen with the clean room!!!!!!
the rug looks good!!
Put a plant between shelf and side table.
I love the throw rug in your room!! Def keep it so cute
Also you guys need curtains framing all your windows
I like the rug! definitely keep it!
This is so cute!! Love all the new decor!!
Flip your bar area and the black shelf!
Okay as far as the pillows go I think they all look great however I would remove the light blue ones because it’s too many colors, eventho they are adorable! I agree that the green ones help the plant art work tie in!
I would put 2 of the shelfs together, move the floor lamp where the side table is.
what if the bar car and the glass table switched places?
Y’all should put the pillow on the black shelf
Decorator tip: I put clients shower products in amber apothecary bottles and label them so your shower products have a uniform look and still look pretty.
I would put the basket of blankets next to the black shelf so it breaks up the space
Definitely move the neon light over by the frames that would look soo good
Your aesthetic is everything 😍
Where is the bar cart from????? ITS SO CUTE
Where did you get your bedroom furniture?
Put the lamp next to the sofa and take that table to oder space.
Loved the video, ly ♥️
I would put that big round basket with the extra pillows in it next to the side table to help break up the space
I'd honestly put a suculent between the side table and the shelf, it might make it more divided and not that "weird" 😄
I would get rid of the side table and put two of the black shelves or keep it as is
I think moving the side table to other side of the room would most likely look best. And then I would either put the bar cart and then the black shelf or just the black shelf in the middle of the space with a floor lamp beside the couch. And then I also suggest putting some pillows on the bench to include it into your color pallet. Love the moving vlogs and your channel 💙
Big yes on the rug!
I feel like you could move that side table next to the couch, to a different location. Then you could move the lamp and try a skinnier, circle side table to put next to the couch and you could add the lamp over it/near it, or get a tall plant. Just my suggestion and maybe do a black table instead of that gold.
I think switching the bar cart and the black shelf would match better with the end table!!
can you link the style of your sunglasses from quay plz
where did you get the navy bench from?
I would add more storage for glasses near or on your bar cart and have a variety of different types of glasses. It's easier (and less time consuming) to make drinks for yourself and guests when you're not constantly having to get a glass from another room. Your room is finally coming together though, looks great!
You guys should get 2 of the big black shelves and put them next to each other
put the plant in between the end table and your black shelf!!!!
Why not try to put the pink bean bag and the grey puff in your closet room... i think it matches with the upstairs color scheme.
Also I love your style and how the house is coming together.
Just put a big plant in between the two shelves/couch stands
the throw blankets on the bed is better, to make it look cozy. The rug is a no because it makes the room smaller, but if you like it that’s fine :)
Didn't think I would like the rug in your room but it looks great! Also, the side table does look a bit odd next to the shelving in the living room. I would suggest put a big basket or some type of décor box to store some extra throw blankets or pillows. Would look really cute!
Maybe even get a navy blue throw so something in the room is matching the bench?
Swap the shelves with the bar cart! So that the black and gold don’t clash
I would leave both the side table and the shelves there, just add a basket with throw blankets to break up the space.
Sarah Ledwig yes! I just commented the same thing and then saw your comment lol
I would put something in between the black shelf and the side table and see what it would look like
Switch the book shelf and bar cart
Love this! I love moving and decorating vlogs!
Morgan that rug is perfect for your room
I would say you should put a plant next to the black shelf in the living room, it would kind of break the space up and make it look begger
I love the decor! But I feel like adding something to every space can make a room look too cluttered or it being too much going on. A little separation and space is good too :)
loooove the rug!!
why don’t you put the book shelve where the bar cart is and then put the bar cart where the book shelve is. Maybe it will even out the space on both sides.
I think you should Mack a shelf wall
