Hellooooo! I finally opened up a dedicated bookstagram for this channel - check it out if you like! It's @more.rebecca.reads ( instagram.com/more.rebecca.reads/ ) 🤗
Thank you 😊 I am planning on reading The Girl with the Louding Voice soon so I am even more excited now. The Book Thief is one of the most wonderful books 💗 I read it twice already and although it´s so sad, with those illustrations it´s just a masterpiece.
Oh you're making me want to reread The Book Thief! I think I read it 8 years ago, so probably time :D I have The Girl with the Louding Voice on my list for August, can't wait now!
the girl with the louding voice was one of my absolute favorite reads this year! it was so good i made my mom read it as well, i cannot recommend it enough! 💜
Your voice & persona are so calming! The recent resurgence in modern retellings of mythology is so fun, Ariadne sounds interesting! Since you like the focus on women I think you'd like The Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker
I don’t really have a take on it - because I don’t live in the States, but am American, books are a way for me to stay in touch with my culture. That’s why I prefer reading English books - but it doesn’t mean I don’t like German books, I just don’t connect with them as much!
Finally got around to watching your wrap up... 😅 I'm glad that you enjoyed Oryx and Crake! So, are you planning on reading the sequels? They're a bit different at first, following other characters (it's all tied together though), but there's even more worldbuilding for life before the pandemic especially in The Year of the Flood that (judging by what you said about Oryx and Crake) I think you'd enjoy. 😊
Thank you, Rebecca, for saying such an amazing words about Ariadne - it's on my July tbr, am excited to read it even more now :) I absolutely loved Circe, and Madeline Miller's writing is very beautiful and inspirational! I have loved Greek Myths since I was a 4 year old kid and my mom read those amazingly written stories to me :) I hope you're having a great day as well! :)
I've got Where the Dead Sit Talking on my tbr and now I'm iffy on keeping it cause idc about realism I don't need to read about the sexual fantasies of a teenage boy

What is your take on German literature as someone living in Germany? Noticed you almost exclusively read books in English language :)

I’m looking forward to read The Girl with the Louding Voice this summer 😍

Thinking about it :) I think I need to chill the pandemic reads for now, so maybe at the end of the year!
I just loved The Book Thief! One of my all time favorites ❤️
Mine too! Such a great book!
You’ve just inspired me to reread The Book Thief and finally pick up The Girl with the Louding Voice!

@@MoreRebeccaElizabeth Thank you, Rebecca 💗
I’m reading The Girl with the Louding Voice now. I love Adunni!
Reading Little fires everywhere now! The other Celeste Ng was AMAZING- her writing is so good ✨
❤️❤️❤️ thanks for another lovely video!
❤️❤️

I'd still give it a try, especially if you've purchased or can get it from the library! They were usually short passages, I just get bothered quickly.
