On the way home from this trip I was listing M83 and had to pull over and watch the raw video clips at the same time. Life changing. A song that was both huge, and smooth, and emotional… I knew then it was what I was going to do.
Hey I met you today flying in Menifee you sir are an inspiration this video you made has changed my life I am doing something that I fear I am doing something I never thought I could do I am living my life and facing my fear because of you or at least because of how you told this story in this video thank you I hope I get to fly with you soon
Some paramotor pilots will watch this and think, "I wish I could do that," yet when I watch this I think to myself, "we are all this lucky." I used to watch this movie called "The Art of Flight" about snowboarding because it motivated me to explore. This "little" thing you put together here is far beyond that level. Thank you. That's about all I can say.
Another Southwell masterpiece. The inverted reflections culminating in the foot drags are a stroke of cinematic genius. Ryan, this video is truly inspiring. Thank you for all the effort you put into these films, bravo!
Awe inspiring! Lake Powell is my favorite place on the planet. It is so beautiful and has such a special vibe. My most heartfelt condolences for the loss of your friends. I bet their spirits are flying those canyons as we speak. Godspeed and blue skies to you sir.
Ryan, I really hope, someday you end up in a big National Geographic or a Netflix show and get all the praise you deserve! Keep on making those it make me really feel special to be a pilot!
Maybe someday someone will come along and do all the pitch work to a streaming company and I’ll supply the footage. I’ll go along with that. 👍🏼 you never know.
Dude, I use to be one of the meanest MF'ers many people ever knew, I have always met strangers, trusted just one person (me), and really had one goal in mind everyday, and that was to come out on top. Many of the things you mention in this video is what made me a loving, caring person I am today, and allow people to use me so they can come out on top at the end of the day. I had many of the monsters you describe, the y lived within my daily life and thoughts. I faced them, I got hurt severely many a time, but the fun I missed out on with the "monsters" controlling me was allowing my life to pass by, so like you said in the video, it is going to hurt, but ya gotta walk it off. I did that and my life chronicled your video so much. I too fly paramotors, and the perspective it gives from the top down is reminiscent of my prior life, but the joy is there now that I look from the top down with other people. Incredible video my friend, I do not kbow exactly what you do, but it should be inspirational videos.
Absolutely amazing. Deserves an IMAX showing. The ending score really did it for me since that was the ending score in the Art of Flight, and that movie defined an era of my life before PPG. You did the track just as much justice as T.Rice. What a tribute.
That’s awesome, and thank you. I watched that years ago and maybe it left a subliminal impression to recreate it. On my way home from filming this event I was listening to M83 and had to pull over and watch the footage as I listened to the music and the lightbulb went on so strong that I knew I had to go this route. It hit me too emotionally to resist.
Wow your editing skills are fantastic, your message is inspiring. This is what it's all about! Can't wait to get in the air again. Jerry Delyea turned me on to you, glad he did.
Ryan I feel sorry to come across your channel so late. Man Big tight hug and and Grand Salute. This is next level videography. Every second is awesome delightfully to watch. It would be honor to fly and share sky with you one day. You are bloody goooooood man. Keep it up. Great for our paramotor community as well. Jay.
I took my first paramotor flight today in Idaho with WindPirate PPG and Oregon Paramotor. Thank you for your inspiration. It was everything I dreamed it could be!
From Italy and Italian language , simply : Fantastico ! Emozionante !! An honor to be your a new follower . I feel a part of this Video . Thanks and Congrats Ryan
The content you create is absolutely next level. The cinematography, music, meaning and the level of deepness that it touches all of us is unprecedented. You have a true artistic gift. Please never stop creating!
Brilliant film making right here. I really enjoyed watching all the beautiful angles. Narration and music was awesome too. Great job! Sorry for the loss of your friends Ryan.
Amazing story and video. I am a new pilot and have had some moments that put the pause into me. Watching this inspires me to get back up there and conquer that dragon. Because those moments are worth it to me too. Thank you for a powerful and beautifully filmed video.
Ryan I have just been binging on your videos omg... frikin awesome .. you truly are a master at capturing true emotions of ppg pilot .. those emotions you can never put into words to tell your friends are in beautiful colourful 4k on your awesome videos .. I cannot wait for more content .. what an amazing planet we live on .. truly breath taking cinematography.. I'm subscribed ... big fan here from Ireland...
"You had me at hello"....... well Ryan, you had me at Depeche Mode's PIMPF! This is the first video I have seen of yours...and WOW!!!! This deserves to be on IMAX. I instantly subscribed, you deserve 1 Million more subscribers from what I just experienced. Well done Good Sir.
The quality of in flight footage just amazes me, so well done! Edited to perfection as well. Ryan, you’re such a contributor to the world of PPG! hats off and hands together 👏…
This is my ultimate dream. My two favorite things in life are flying and natural beauty of the American South West. I've been only twice (from the east coast) and i think about it every day. These shots are amazing. I'd love to be up there some day.
Wonderful tribute, not just to your friends, but to the sensation of flying and the freedom it brings. The inverted perspective shots footdragging the sky were truly inspired. Fly safe.
Thanks Caleb. All the guys got together that night after the flight to look at the footage and when the epiphany came to turn my laptop upside down, we all freaked out.
Superb blend of camera work, music, and thought-provoking narration! If I ever do videos I want to follow your style, sir. As a Christ follower I don’t see paramotoring as a beginning or end in itself but a means to appreciate what we’ve been given, which though temporary remains so stunningly amazing!
Yeah okey this is next level. Truly great work. Hadnt seen your videos untill just now when i finished listenening to the ppg pod with you as guest. This is amazing man, it really is. Subbed
I’m three spine surgeries and two heart attacks in…. Indeed life looks different after facing mortality. Paramotoring is on my bucket list. I’m 50 and working to rebuild my body again. 🤞Your video is inspiring! Indeed when bucked off we need to get back on! Be safe!
Wow. If you are not a documentary producer/director as a career, you should be. Just so well organized, shot, edited and the pacing is perfect. Awesome! In October I am taking PPG lessons in Boulder City, NV. I can't wait. I live in Orlando right on the line between the Disney Restricted Area and miles and miles of open Class G, E farmland. We spend 3-4 months a year in Vegas so I have to get a second PPG or figure out how to transport it back and forth on commercial planes.
Right on. Vegas area has a LOT of great places to fly nearby. I actually do make videos for real commercial clients in my day job, but these Paramotor vids are all just a hobby. Wish I could spend more time making them with real intent. :)
On another level. Well done sir...we all have those moments where we are preflight, setup, engine running in the center of our glider and think. Could this be my last flight? And launching despite that...it’s hard to put it to words but you seem to get it on film. Nice vid
It’s easy to enjoy and just take the cream off the top in this sport. Thank you for going deeper and sharing yourself here in this beautiful piece of work. Always beautiful. Always with class. Love it! 👊👍🚀
Fantastic work as always Ryan. Have always enjoyed the cinematic art you bring to the sport and the messages that go with them. Keep making them and I’ll keep watching them :)
Just wow. Ryan your aero-meditations are at once idyllic, stunning, melancholic, inviting, and I enjoy every one and have sent plenty links to friends. So when does the feature length come out?
Thank you so much. I’ve actually been thinking… what if I put a collection of shots from the last few films that’s just pure paramotor and no talking or b-roll. I could probably make a pretty sweet 45 min screensaver 🤣
Amazing film. Have you ever submitted any of your films to the Banff Film Festival? If not you should, they are definiately worthy of being viewed on the big screen.
Great video. You put a lot work into that. Sorry about your friends loss of life. I want to come fly out there, You guys figure out what caused the accidents? I'm sure you have to fly those canyons in a more than likely no wind condition. Like brake of dawn. I'm sure a wind gust through those canyons would make for a hell of a dangerous ride. Rotor from hell. What app do you guys use before you head out? I use about 6 apps.
Yep. Crack of dawn on a perfect predicted day. Otherwise no chance. All of the other accidents were for various causes but it had to do with being new pilots and pushing the limits on judgment with acrobatics.
Absolutely incredible work, Ryan. 👌
Thank you, sir!
Noway im between tucker and ryan
Watched this with tears in my eyes. Ryan, your work is always a masterpiece. Thank you for making this.
Thank you.
Thank you for showcasing the beauty of the sport along with the beauty of the human spirit. You take cinematography to a whole new level.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Incredible. Such a beautiful tribute. Your work is nothing less than exceptional.
BRO…. That sequence with the m83 track. Omg. Also all the other parts. Omg.
On the way home from this trip I was listing M83 and had to pull over and watch the raw video clips at the same time. Life changing. A song that was both huge, and smooth, and emotional… I knew then it was what I was going to do.
Masterfully done as always!

Beautiful and touching
I feel like your videos would best be viewed on the big screen with surround sound. Great tribute and stunning imagery. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you. And yes, big screen or big tv with 4K and a sound system is the only way to see these locations. It’s so beautiful to see.
I always look forward to your videos!!
Beautiful! Bravo!! Reminds me of... Henry David Thoreau quote, Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth!
Another Southwell masterpiece. The inverted reflections culminating in the foot drags are a stroke of cinematic genius. Ryan, this video is truly inspiring. Thank you for all the effort you put into these films, bravo!
Thank you so much. That means a lot.

@@ryansouthwell Oh, it's the main character's name from Altered Carbon. My real names are both Slavic :3

Brady had some real influence in this video. Glad he was there.
How does a Paramotor video give you chills? The shots in this are mind blowing.

This is my favorite one yet. It blows my mind that you are able to film like this from your paramotor
Took a lot of testing and trial and error. It’s kinda tough to be honest but I do what it takes to get the shot. 👍🏼
