Good man. Any faith that can bolster and develop ethical thought and moral principles can't be faulted. I don't believe in the subjugation of the vulnerable or the abuse of any sentient being which includes animals. I'm sorry but I can't sit in silence for one hour and waist time losing social cohesion which was my experience of a Quaker meeting?
A Quaker school! I'm guessing that was in the USA?? There's more Quakers in the state of Pensylvania than there in the UK. I went to a Catholic school, for Religious studies GCSE's I wrote about the Catholic Church and Quakerism and the differences, because my grandmother was a Quaker whilst my mum wanted to raise me as a Catholic. I am glad my grandmother had a say on this and I'm proud of it.
Brilliant video, would be great if there was a video from Quakers who are Buddhist & especially Hindu on how they balance the 2 and how they compliment each other!

@smallbeginning2 Not sure if it matters now because we've moved the goal posts on morality and ethics that I'm no longer sure what I am? Buddhist or Christian just labels the unenlightened use?

I was raised by a Quaker school and now I realise how important it was for my future. It gave my morals which I always hold onto even to this day

Excellent concise introduction to Quakerism today
My dream is to go to the meetings in the UK! Thanks for sharing these videos

You might find a meeting house near you.

wow, just found out about quakers and their religious view falls nearly perfectly in line with my own beliefs.
Yeah if you want to make truth be anything you want....
I was beginning to think I was the only one. Can I ask what's happened since you posted this 3 months ago, I'm a bit unsure what to do next

Me as well! I'm excited to go to my first meeting :) how loving they seem
Very informative video that you have shared. I liked your video and SUBSCRIBED to your Channel.
So for be followed by many people can you put some person to translate it in French?
This is a wonderful video.
The Quaker movement is the only Christian movement that lives by commandments and the direct teachings of Christ.
It says 'and Christians' not sure they are Christian

I wouldn't call it a Christian movement, at least not now.
@@D-777i You have a bad experience with the Quakers?
@@timothygrayson No, but it doesn't seem to be routed in Christian doctrine, at least not now. I'm open to persuasion though.
are they talking about Advaitam?

How does one become a Quaker?
Generally people start by attending a meeting for worship. You can find a meeting in Britain at www.quaker.org.uk/meetings
@@BritishQuakers what do you worship?! yourselfs?! you're all heretics
@@deusvult8251that is so rude! God created us as equals and wanted us all to be treated with love and respect
It's very vague, isn't it?! I'm reading Elizabeth Fry's memoirs and I find her words a lot clearer and based in substance than this video.

I find it difficult to believe there is much, if anything, of God in certain individuals. At one time, perhaps, but at some point they became hellish.
So New Age then?
