Yes. Halloween End is the worst piece of shit in the franchise. Halloween Kills needs to be ranked lower, it was bad too. Halloween II, not the Rob Zombie one, deserves a top 3 placement along with Halloween 4. Bottom 5 should be Ends, Kills, Curse of MM, and the two Rob Zombie films. Top three should be 1. Halloween. 2. Halloween 4 3. Halloween 2
Yeah, I go: Original, 2, & 4. That's it. That's my "Hallowe'en story. It's the complete cycle. It's the story or Loomis. It's the story of Myers. It's just perfect.
@@christopherfeeney1962 If they only released those three films as that trilogy.. I think this series would be even more famous than what it is now. Talk about a perfect way to end a trilogy with #4.. I have to rewatch in that order now. I've always done Og, 2, and H20 as my trilogy, but damn I like yours more.
The Original Halloween II is the one that scared the crap out of me as a kid. It's up there with the Predator Film with Arnold. My all time scariest & favorite films. Michael felt more like an unstoppable Super Natural MONSTER instead of a serial killer.
This would be my ranking for one of my favorite horror movie franchises!! #1 Halloween (1978) #2 Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) #3 Halloween 2 (1981) #4 Halloween H20 (1998) #5 Halloween (2018) #6 Halloween (2007) #7 Halloween Kills (2021) #8 Halloween 3: Season of the Witch (1982) #9 Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989) #10 Halloween II (2009) #11 Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995) #12 Halloween Resurrections (2002) #13 Halloween Ends (2022)
Halloween, '78, walked so that Friday The 13th, A Nightmare On Elm Street, and a slew of other iconic slasher classics could run. Tremendous flick, without question.
I agree with you on Halloween II (1981) it gets medicore reviews, but I think it's fantastic. he's driven, powerful and his mask in this movie is by far the best which it's primarily why i was terrified of Myers as a kid. this was the first Halloween I remember seeing and once I saw it, I became familiar with Michael Myers all too well. the revamped theme song is haunting asf and the camerawork was great. I loved those random shots in first person perspective. when Michael walked through the glass door and had that hospital chase with Laurie, i almost died, especially when she gets to the elevator. the climax leaves something on you.
Love the scene in H20 when they are reaching for the keys and michael finally unlocks the gate and Laury opens the door and comes face to face with micahel through the window 🔥
That's a damn good scene but I wish they would've sped the movie up for me the movie is boring as fuck until the end when Michael finally shows up but if u like the movie I ain't judging or nth we like what we like each to there own
@@MartyMcFly88 the best and most brutal Myers aside from the Blumhouse films. Great use of 16mm. An amazing exploration of how the effects trauma and PTSD have on people. I also love how bleak it is. The film never sets up a blockbuster, MCU type of hype moment like Blumhouse tried doing with their trilogy for example. It’s also one of the most emotional slashers I’ve ever seen on top of that. No scene in the Halloween franchise comes even close to Sheriff Brackett finding Annie’s dead body. It’s a complete departure to what the franchise was up to that point and I can understand if it’s not one cup of tea but I can never be convinced that this film is bad/awful; ESPECIALLY when you got the rest of that franchise. (Btw, I’m talking about the Director’s Cut of H2, not the theatrical; which I’ll admit is a significant step down)
Season Of The Witch is my favorite movie in the franchise, which I realize is blasphemous to purists; but I love what I love. It's necessary to view every Halloween night.
The Fact "Halloween Ends" ranked higher than "Halloween Kills" or anything more than slotting into the bottom 3 is proof of why everyone's perception is different and why choosing something to watch based on someone else's opinion is rarely a good and trustworthy idea 😂
@@greatestnitemare6626No they really weren’t. Stop it. It’s okay to not like a movie but to call Kills and Ends horrible?! Lmaooo stop it. H5 is HORRIBLE, Rob Zombies H2 is HORRIBLE, Resurrection is HORRIBLE
@@jaycasado5029 we had 10 minutes of Michael Myers time and the rest was about some bum named Corey. They also decided it would be genius to give him supernatural powers crap like the thorn nonsense. This movie was complete garbage. And yes it belongs to the category of those horrible movies
@@jaycasado5029 ...except H2 was the conclusion and we had a good conclusion of him burning to death. In Halloween Ends we still had the Halloween Kills story and it just randomly goes to this BS Corey character. Also Myers was still in the movie of Halloween Kills yet they made him to be a complete wimp. Awful movie. Your point is moot.
What I strongly dislike about rotten tomatoes is that they throw all contemporary reviews on with more recent reviews, making it difficult to understand what critics thought upon release vs today. I'm currently working on a website called "contemporary criticism" which should solve this problem
I dont think he was ever at Dr Mathis', that Corey was hallucinating, and he killed her. Just like the house scene where Laurie is monologing about evil. I think she wasn't there either. It was us seeing Corey descend into madness
As Halloween films, the Zombie movies are bottom of the barrel for me because of poorly he understood that Michael Myers is not a person, but instead The Shape, evil incarnate. There is no reason for what he is, and he should garner no sympathy throughout a single moment of any film. Showing him coming from a broken family allows for a deviation in the most crucial part of what makes him so damn terrifying. Later films give him a pseudo-motivation for what he does, but they never try to humanize him like Zombie did.
Recently found your page and it’s a breath of fresh air. Have had a great time going back through your previous videos. Love the ranking series. Think it could be fun and cool if you did a tier list of the kills or the killers with Halloween or Friday, like you did with Texas Chainsaw and leatherface. Keep up the awesome work!!
Halloween Kills is so much fun from start to finish; brutal as fuck. Strong middle chapter in a trilogy that deserves more love. The flashback stuff is absolutely glorious.
Honestly as a die hard Halloween fan this my personal list and a hot take. 1) Halloween 1978 2) Haloween II 3) Halloween H20 4) Halloween 4 5) Halloween 5 (Ironic) 6) Halloween 2018 7) Halloween Kills 8) Halloween 6 9) Rob Zombie's Halloween 10) Halloween Resurrection 11) Halloween III SOTW 12) Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 13) Halloween Ends (I understand what the director was going for and to each their own but I genuinely did not enjoy this movie other than like 2 or 3 scenes )
@MadBloodMatt I do like SOTW it's just that the I like the other movies listed before it much more and Michael himself is a huge factor in that. I do appreciate each timeline though, If I were to rank timelines, the anthology road would be number 2 or 3 for me.
It's wild that both RZ movies are above 5 and Curse. I would 100% rewatch either of those before RZ's H2. The gore is nice and the Annie/Sheriff Brackett scene is heart wrenching, but RZ took too much liberty with what made Michael the killer we love. He should've left Michael mysterious and extremely violent, with no talking or random scenes of a dead mother appearing as a mysterious ghost. Movie would easily be top 3 if all that weird stuff wasn't added. We don't need motives or backstories to a silent killer who is just inherently evil.
Been trying to also find a way to tie the trilogy together, and I have a rough idea for the first section. All three feature that halloween party. I'd have spliced in clips from Kills and End -> the FIRST entry of the DGGreen series, heck, maybe we could even grade the scenes somewhere between Halloween (20...19?) and the two films that follows, mainly because I love that blue text intro to Ends; but also to subconsciouly prime us viewers for what's coming up in Kills and Ends (more brutality and burned Shape followed by a bunch of low threat, "chiller" vibe with Laura's dumb laisez-faire take on life, dark sewers, and reflection). Part of Ends prologue gets inserted into Halloween (ideally replacing some pointless scenes, like that peanut butter penis scene or any others that's useless) The early party scenes can be spliced in as well, spread out so the ones before the bus crash and two criminal report don't show up until the final third. The chill clips can be nested between two NEGATIVE story/action beats to keep a decent up down emotional flow. Hawking could honestly just die, he's useless after being roadkill. Just cut him from the two sequels and replace with more scenes from Kills and ends (or agree enough is primed to pay off for Kills) Stop the flashback bullshit and replace the crossdresser and Hawking shit with more from Ends, if the child death with Cory doesn't fit into Halloween then replace it with nearly any scene from the opening third of Kills to conclude the priming for Corey to be a MAJOR character during Ends. They could write a new scene with the parents leaving to go home, sensibly, instead of running around to find a fucking murderer with a 30+ killstreak, lmao! So even just the new scene and splice scene from Ends can act as bookends within Kills, and we the audience will be like, "Oh man, what's gonna happen with Corey, Laura, and Shape in the final entry!?" Ok, these are my initial thoughts after 1.5 years of mulling it over and seeing Mad also confused by how to make this a TRUE trilogy, feedback and mutual thoughts I'd totes appreciate! Happy trick er tripping :P
Yep, them putting Halloween 2 at #8 kind of threw me for a loop. You said a lot of great things about Halloween 2; it's amazing from the killers to the soundtrack. By the way, I'm a bit new to your channel (I watched your Friday the 13th video a few days ago). I'm enjoying what you're doing here.
Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2 should be right at the bottom. Followed closely by Resurrection. Also Halloween Kills is overly hated. Bar the “evil dies tonight” cringe. The film is fantastic and the flashbacks are insanely well done. Also Halloween 3 is fantastic. I adore it. It is what they need to do going forward.
Funnily enough as a kid I only watched the rob zombie movies 🤣 It took me many years to realise there were movies before them so I have nostalgia for them a lot
1. Halloween 78 2. H20 3. Halloween 2018 4. Halloween 2 (original) 5. Halloween 4 6.Halloween 3 7. Halloween kills 8. Halloween 5 9. Halloween Rob Zombie 10. Halloween 6 11. Halloween resurrection 12. Halloween 2 RZ 13. Halloween ends ( don't get me started) As you said at the start of your video nobody gets it right as it's personal opinion.
I love Halloween 2, '81. Sure, the pacing wanes in the second act, but it doesn't ruin the enjoyment of the film. It pairs so well with Halloween, especially on the eponymous night.
What I find funny is Halloween 2 the original movie doesn’t get much credit but when it comes to merchandise, the majority of what you see is Halloween 2
If you click the splat or tomato, it will pull up the score. Halloween 2018 has a score of 6.80 out of 10 Rating. Halloween 1978 has a score of 8.60 out of 10 Rating. I recommend checking these scores out as well!
Awesome video man! I’m a new subscriber. I agree with you for most of the films. I have that H20 nostalgia also growing up around that time frame. I can’t believe Halloween II (1981) was that low. Such an insult! My personal list is would be: 1. Halloween 2. Halloween (2018) 3. Halloween II (1981) 4. Halloween H20 5. Halloween 4 (Hate the mask) 6. Halloween Kills 7. Halloween 6 (some awesome brutal kills) 8. Halloween 5 (some corny scenes for sure) 9. RZ Halloween 10. Halloween Resurrection 11. RZ H2 12. Halloween Ends Can’t speak on Halloween 3 because I’ve truly never watched it but really need to. I’ve heard positive things. 👍🏼
Not a bad ranking, very close to my own. 78, Kills, Ends, 2018, 81, Season, Rz 1 & 2, H4, H20, H5, H6, Resurrection. Ends is definitely a masterwork and i think the continuity is stronger than its given credit for. They wrote Kills & Ends at the same time and the setups are there in 2018 and Kills. Laurie's arc for example is misunderstood: in 2018, she had been living her life believing that Michael's attack was personal But it wasnt, Sartain was the reason for the new massacre... in Kills , this same night of Sartain's plan, Laurie still thinks its about her and she hypes up Tommy, etc. to go after him, but she learns one thing people seem to forget... Michael wasnt after her that night.. Which makes Laurie regret sending Tommy.etc to go after Michael. This is why when people blame her in Ends, she doesnt argue with them, she was the first to blame herself. It wouldnt make sense for her to finally go to therapy and accept the fact she was wrong for 40 years... Other details of the setup: The radio tower was introduced in the flashback in Kills. Also, Dj Willie the Kid was introduced offscreen, when Tommy and his mob chased the patient in the car, the commercial for Willies show was on the radio. the same commercial that Ends opens up with. in 2018, the through line began " one monster has created another" as they introduce Laurie and the movie shows her behaving like Michael in 78. in Kills, after the mob chased the patient into his death leap, Brackett says "now he's turning us into monsters" Ends, then introduces Corey with "the Monsters hop" song playing. Last, Laurie's monologue at the mob slaughter scene, is setting up how Haddonfield will be depicted in Ends.
Glad Halloween 3 got respect on this list. Love the score of the film and a unique plot. But for me the best films of this series were the original and 2018.
H6 has always been one of my favorite sequels. It feels the most like the Halloween season, it has my favorite Michael look and personality after the original, and great kills. I know I might stand alone but H6 is a great movie to me
Wow no joke I literally was just on your F13 video and saw the comment recommending this vid lol Anyways my list 13. Resurrection: 0.75/5 12. H5: 1.5/5 11. 2007: 2.25/5 10. HII (2009): 4/5 (Yes I’m one of those people) 9. H4: 4.25/5 8. Ends: 4.25/5 (Enjoyment wise it’s almost 5/5 but still extremely let down by the direction they went even if I enjoy it) 7. HII (1981): 4.5/5 6. 2018: 4.5/5 5. Kills: 4.5/5 (Slipped a bit for me because of infuriating stupidity) 4. Curse: 4.6/5 3. HIII: 4.7/5 2. H20: 4.8/5 1. 1978: 5/5
In terms of watchability (good or bad bc I love me some bad horror movies) I'd list them like this: 1. Original Halloween 2. Halloween 4 3. Halloween Curse of Michael Myers 4. Zombies Halloween 1 5. Halloween Resurrection 6. Halloween 2 7. Halloween 2018 8. Halloween H20 9. Halloween 5 10. Halloween Kills 11. Zombies Halloween 2 12. Halloween Ends 13. Season of the Witch
I love Halloween Kills. Michael is pissed for being tricked and trapped. Firemen are not tactical lile cops and they don’t know who just emerged from the flames. It’s easy to say they should jump on him but jumping a regular dude is what the hospital scene shows. Michael is running offense. He just wants to get up outta there and they in his way.
It's crazy at how critics rank these because I would definetly rank most of these higher than where the critics put them. Awesome video as always, also you should do a halloween films ranking coming up 😎
Did you call the little girl Daniel? Twice? It's Danielle. If a movie does not have Michael in it, it's NOT a Halloween film. The last film was a mess. After the first scene, I was really looking forward to the rest. The directing was just so weirdly done. I don't know how it can be considered top 5 in the franchise.
If any of the Halloween films deserve a really low Rotten Tomatoes scores it’s Season Of The Witch, The Revenge Of Michael Myers, Resurrection, and the Rob Zombie Halloween movies. It’s one of my favorite horror franchises and I’m quite fond of the original, II, The Return Of Michael Myers, The Curse Of Michael Myers, H20, and Halloween 2018.
Halloween 3 was great... I believe if they would of just called it season on the witch and didn't mislead people into the theater... that this movie would be hailed as 1 of the great 80s horror movies
Don't have a list, I love all Michael films even the shite & extreme but don't ever ask me to watch Halloween 3 as i can't stand the storyline. Great list 😊🐾💜👍👋
Halloween 4 is my favorite franchise of them All hands down i love the entire movie 💯 my favorite parts is michael is inside the meeker house the impaled shotgun kill on kelly meeker when he snaps brady neck the rooftop chase i love this movie
Nah halloweem kills is underrated. The flashback scene, the fire scene, the most brutal myers we get, the mask, the score. Should be enough to overshadow the negatives
Halloween 4 is in the top 5 for me you get micheal myers back which was a big criticism of Halloween 3 great cast it's suspenful and you have the holloween atmosphere
I appreciate that you point out how some of the movies were basically products of the time Like the reality tv era And the scream/I know what you did last summer era. If they just stuck to making a movie and not focusing on the time, they would be better
Great video but if i could nitpick 1 thing that you talked about it would be this: In Halloween 2018, yes, Laurie is super worried and paranoid about Michael Myers even tho he is locked up. She has always operated under the assumption that he would one day break out and come after her again (she thinks it was personal what happened in the original movie, basically). I think in Halloween Ends the main reason why she doesn't seem to be so troubled anymore is because she learned in the movie prior to this one that what happened to her in 1978 was not personal. She even learns that the events of 2018 was also not personal because it was all orchestrated by Dr. Sartain. So she no longer has to fear Michael Myers in the same way that she always did before. I'm not saying this is very clearly expressed to the audience but it is there to understand at the very least.
I think what they were trying to get at with Halloween 2 getting the franchise locked into something that took them decades to get out of was the fact that they made Laurie Michael's sister. It's my personal favorite, but that's what the popular criticism is.

Halloween 2 1981 is not only my favorite Halloween film, but one of the greatest slasher films or even just horror films of all time. Halloween 3 is also a masterpiece. Say what you want about it, but there are few horror flicks out there as unique as Halloween 3. In my opinion, the first four films in the franchise are untouchable. there are a few minor scribes here and there, but one through four is one big masterpiece.
Halloween Ends had promise and I liked the idea of Corey, but the execution was lacking to say the least. The kills were solid and Corey under the mask was reminiscent of a younger Michael, but I wholeheartedly agree that it should've been introduced or set up much earlier
There are really only 4 movies in this series I'd personally choose to watch again. It's hard for me to wrap my head around there being 13 of these. Glad to see someone who appreciates h20.
You and I agree on several points. We have our differences With that being said, Halloween 2 is not only my favorite horror movie in the franchise. It's possibly my favorite horror movie of all time. Secondly. I absolutely hate it Halloween 3 as a kid. As I've gotten older I have such a love and appreciation for this movie. And it's possibly in my top five. The atmosphere, the score, the sinister plot. To me it really is a perfect movie
I think if Halloween 3 Season of the Witch was the second film in the franchise and it became an anthology series around the holiday it would have been amazing. Next to the original Halloween I think I watch Halloween 3 the most in the franchise.
I have seen every Halloween in theaters in its original run except Halloween2 and Zombies H2. I was 7 when the original Halloween hit theaters in Kansas City. When I left the theater I was convinced Michael Myers got up and walked to the parking lot. Subbed to you.
My personal ranking: Halloween 2018 Halloween II '81 RZ Halloween '07 Halloween Kills Halloween OG '78 Resurrection RZ Halloween II Halloween Part 5 The Curse of Michael Myers Halloween part 4 Halloween H20 Ends
Wow same here I got a nightmare myself watching 2018 Halloween lol I was paranoid honestly on the drive home late at night...imagine a lunatic on a rampage in ya town with no remorse or reason its bone chilling.
1-halloween II- its the best horror sequel of all time the suspense is better in this one especially when hes in the hospital while laurie is in the room. 2-halloween original- classic great movie 3-halloween 4- its has the best fall halloween time opening. Plus the transporting scene is a good one. It's just a good sequel. 4- curse of michael myers- I still say its the goriest and scariest one no matter how bad the plot can be. Great kills 5- season of the witch---underrated horror movie its a great halloween themed movie 6-H20- jamie is good, love how they put her mom in it. It's a fun watch 7- halloween 5- THe farm and forrest scene is suspensful and jamie in the laundry chute well done scene. Couple good kills. 8-Resurrection- Only saving grace to this one is when myles is at the party and hes guiding her to safety That had some suspense. Couple good kills 9-Rob zombies halloween II Theatrical release 10-Rob zombies halloween-----I'm not a fan of either only reason part 2 is higher ITs got some good kills 11-halloween 12-halloween kills----------------------I hate all 3 movies 13-halloween ends
I was chuckling when you were talking about your thoughts on kills. Why? Because everything you disliked about it is what I enjoyed in the movie. Michael can fight like he is Batman it’s cool. I had a blast the entire time and found the fight against the firefights flat out awesome. Different strokes for different folks you know. P.S. it is a crime Halloween 2 is that low, critics really do forget how to turn off and have a good time with Horror movies.
If I had to rank them here’s my ranking 1. Halloween (1978) this is as perfect of a slasher film as you’ll get. 2. Halloween 3: season of the witch I absolutely love this film, it’s wild, it’s entertaining, the suspense and tension, it’s like a reverse wicker man 3. Halloween 2 (1981) easily the best of the Michael myers sequels, dick warlock is my favorite Michael, loved the hospital setting and I feel this is the perfect counterpart with the first film. 4. Halloween: H20 this one should have ended it all, Laurie defeats Michael, the final battle is awesome, only thing I hated was the mask 5. Halloween 4: the return of Michael myers a great comeback for Michael and a solid sequel my only problem is it seems best for beat the same as the original but cheaper done. One of the best endings though. 6. Halloween (2007) the story of how he became Michael, the relationship with loomis, and the remake of the original was shot great, scary looking 7 ft tall Michael I loved that. My only issue is the dialogue by rob zombie is hilariously bad and the back story of him coming from a rough family and skipping too much of him with loomis as a boy really hurt it. 7. Halloween kills this movie is just kill after kill and it’s got entertainment I just didn’t like the side story with the other escaped inmate and the ending was a bit confusing 8. Halloween (2018) the first half is pretty good but the second half with badly placed comedy and dr sartain was terrible. 9. Halloween ends the idea of a new Michael was interesting but the last of the trilogy and Michael being weak just felt rushed and easily the weakest of the trilogy 10. Halloween: resurrection this one is by far the dumbest but it’s so ridiculous it’s entertaining 11. Halloween 2 (2009) I give props to zombie for trying something new and diving into Michael’s mind but the movie is just way too weird for me with his ghost mom and loomis is absolutely horrendous in this 12. Halloween 6: the curse of Michael myers I will say this one has some good kills but I couldn’t help but dislike them killing Jamie off then it goes too weird with the cult and Paul Rudd is so weird in this. 13. Halloween 5: the revenge of Michael myers this one is just the most bland, cheapest looking, hated how they undid 4s ending, and introducing the thorn cult at the end was dumb too.
H3, 1981 and H20 in your top 5? Hell yeah! 🎃 Thanks for sharing your list and thoughts on each movie. Always cool to read everyone’s unique perspective on the franchise.
This is how I would personally rank them 1.Halloween (1978) 2. Halloween II (1981) 3. Halloween Ends 4. Halloween H20 5. Halloween III : Season of the Witch 6. Halloween (2018) 7. Halloween 4 : The Return of Michael Myers 8. Halloween (2007) 9. Halloween II (2009) 10. Halloween 6 : The Curse of Michael Myers 11. Halloween Kills 12. Halloween Resurrection 13. Halloween 5 : The Revenge of Michael Myers
Halloween and Halloween 2 (the Originals) are really the only good things about the Halloween series because it treats the Shape like it should be treated. Halloween 3 isn't really that bad of a movie overall. It's just an overly cheesy goofy movie. The Thorn Trilogy is bad. Any film that tries to explain Michael is flawed fundamentally. Michael isn't explainable, he's not even Michael for the vast majority of the originals. He's the Shape. H20 and Resurrection are awful cash grabs that never needed to happen. Rob Zombies additions is the same Rob Zombie movie he's made like 6 times now, just wearing the Halloween Franchise as a skinsuit. Turning a small Illinois town into some southern Appalachian hellhole is ridiculous, and every single character in the movies are unlikable; and even that can't make the movies cathartic. The most recent Trilogy is a recycled sign of the times that tries to humanize Michael again, and just rehashes everything; just with a purposefully old coat of paint. They aren't worth the price of admission to the theater, or as a discounted boxset off Amazon. Any new Halloween movie needs to go back to treating The Shape for what it is. Uncompromising, Unexplainable, Pure Evil. The Shape just is. It doesn't need a backstory, it doesn't need anything other than to terrorize Haddonfield like a once a year curse; and then vanish like it never even existed. We just want the Shape to viciously and indiscriminately kill innocent people on Halloween night. Nothing more, nothing less.
1. Halloween 2 (1981) 2. Halloween (1978) Top 2 are interchangeable 3. Halloween (2018) 4. Halloween Kills 5. Halloween 4 6. Halloween 5 7. Halloween H20 8. Halloween (2007) 9. Halloween Ends 10. Halloween 6 11. Halloween 2 (2009) 12. Halloween Resurrection I can’t rank Halloween 3 because I’ve never seen it but I have no interest to considering it has nothing to do with Micheal Myers
The original Halloween is absolutely by far the best as it is the only one that is terrifying by completely leaning into the stalker/creepy/anticipation horror rather than blood and gore and Michael being a beast. I don’t mind all that and Halloween 2 is also one of my favorites but even from that first sequel, Michael just didn’t have that subtle creepiness anymore that the first did so well.

Halloween, '78, walked so that Friday The 13th, A Nightmare On Elm Street, and a slew of other iconic slasher classics could run. Tremendous flick, without question.
The scene in RZH2 where sheriff brackett finds Annie is one of the saddest scenes in horror history tbh
The orginal Halloween is a timeless classic, every year I put it on on or around Halloween it's just a tradition and I'm nearly 40 years old
Do the same with this and Halloween 4
It doesn’t really hold up outside of the actual mask and nostalgia. Terrible acting

I loved that, and maybe that is why the mask was how it was. That was one time we needed to see Michael's reaction
Halloween, '18, is a stellar return to form. I was pleasantly surprised.
RZ’s H2 is the worst. Absolute dumpster fire.
Weird way of saying one of the best.
Crazy take
@@ElmerPonceCastro how is it one of the best? It’s awful
(Btw, I’m talking about the Director’s Cut of H2, not the theatrical; which I’ll admit is a significant step down)
@ElmerPonceCastro Kills Michael was most brutal
Season Of The Witch is my favorite movie in the franchise, which I realize is blasphemous to purists; but I love what I love. It's necessary to view every Halloween night.
it was the only halloween movie i watched growing up lol and it’s still my #1 of the franchise
Season of the Witch is a darn good movie, almost perfect. This movie, Alone in the Dark, and Prince of Darkness are all my favorites in October..
The Fact "Halloween Ends" ranked higher than "Halloween Kills" or anything more than slotting into the bottom 3 is proof of why everyone's perception is different and why choosing something to watch based on someone else's opinion is rarely a good and trustworthy idea 😂

Yup. I hate the way the final fight in Halloween Kills is shot! It kinda looks like a really weird Nike commercial!?!😂
Just Do It 🙈
What I strongly dislike about rotten tomatoes is that they throw all contemporary reviews on with more recent reviews, making it difficult to understand what critics thought upon release vs today. I'm currently working on a website called "contemporary criticism" which should solve this problem
Bro if Michael would’ve been on the back of that damn motorcycle. I would’ve sued the whole franchise 🤣🤣
😂😂

Halloween 4 is a fan favorite no doubt.

Not bringing back Danielle Harris for part 6 was a huge mistake.
Halloween Kills is so much fun from start to finish; brutal as fuck. Strong middle chapter in a trilogy that deserves more love. The flashback stuff is absolutely glorious.

@MadBloodMatt I do like SOTW it's just that the I like the other movies listed before it much more and Michael himself is a huge factor in that. I do appreciate each timeline though, If I were to rank timelines, the anthology road would be number 2 or 3 for me.
Like u said each to there own but I actually like Halloween end I like d all of DGG trilogy
Bro I was watching and was thinking ma boi had a lot of subscribers BUT I AM NOT MAD THIS QUALITY IS TOP TEIR KEEP IT UP! Need more of this
I appreciate it!!
Part of Ends prologue gets inserted into Halloween (ideally replacing some pointless scenes, like that peanut butter penis scene or any others that's useless)
The early party scenes can be spliced in as well, spread out so the ones before the bus crash and two criminal report don't show up until the final third. The chill clips can be nested between two NEGATIVE story/action beats to keep a decent up down emotional flow.
Hawking could honestly just die, he's useless after being roadkill. Just cut him from the two sequels and replace with more scenes from Kills and ends (or agree enough is primed to pay off for Kills)
Stop the flashback bullshit and replace the crossdresser and Hawking shit with more from Ends, if the child death with Cory doesn't fit into Halloween then replace it with nearly any scene from the opening third of Kills to conclude the priming for Corey to be a MAJOR character during Ends.
They could write a new scene with the parents leaving to go home, sensibly, instead of running around to find a fucking murderer with a 30+ killstreak, lmao!
So even just the new scene and splice scene from Ends can act as bookends within Kills, and we the audience will be like, "Oh man, what's gonna happen with Corey, Laura, and Shape in the final entry!?"
Ok, these are my initial thoughts after 1.5 years of mulling it over and seeing Mad also confused by how to make this a TRUE trilogy, feedback and mutual thoughts I'd totes appreciate!

Laurie's arc for example is misunderstood:
in 2018, she had been living her life believing that Michael's attack was personal
But it wasnt, Sartain was the reason for the new massacre...
in Kills , this same night of Sartain's plan, Laurie still thinks its about her
and she hypes up Tommy, etc. to go after him, but she learns one thing
people seem to forget... Michael wasnt after her that night..
Which makes Laurie regret sending Tommy.etc to go after Michael.
This is why when people blame her in Ends, she doesnt argue with them,
she was the first to blame herself.
It wouldnt make sense for her to finally go to therapy
and accept the fact she was wrong for 40 years...
Other details of the setup: The radio tower was introduced in the flashback in Kills.
Also, Dj Willie the Kid was introduced offscreen, when Tommy and his mob
chased the patient in the car, the commercial for Willies show was on the radio.
the same commercial that Ends opens up with.
in 2018, the through line began " one monster has created another"
as they introduce Laurie and the movie shows her behaving like Michael in 78.
in Kills, after the mob chased the patient into his death leap,
Brackett says "now he's turning us into monsters"
Ends, then introduces Corey with "the Monsters hop" song playing.
Last, Laurie's monologue at the mob slaughter scene, is setting up
how Haddonfield will be depicted in Ends.
Glad Halloween 3 got respect on this list. Love the score of the film and a unique plot. But for me the best films of this series were the original and 2018.

I appreciate that you point out how some of the movies were basically products of the time
Like the reality tv era
And the scream/I know what you did last summer era.

The soundtrack from Kills makes it my fav - Also, the kind of trailer trashiness of the Rob Zombie ones was def unique/unsettling lol
The music in Kills is 🔥 🔥
You and I agree on several points. We have our differences
With that being said, Halloween 2 is not only my favorite horror movie in the franchise.
🔥🔥
I think if Halloween 3 Season of the Witch was the second film in the franchise and it became an anthology series around the holiday it would have been amazing. Next to the original Halloween I think I watch Halloween 3 the most in the franchise.
Where did you get the art for the thumbnail? It looks fire
I have seen every Halloween in theaters in its original run except Halloween2 and Zombies H2. I was 7 when the original Halloween hit theaters in Kansas City. When I left the theater I was convinced Michael Myers got up and walked to the parking lot. Subbed to you.
That’s amazing. I wish I could say the same.
Btw are the bucs making the playoffs this year?
@@MadBloodMatt They should.
My personal ranking:
Halloween 2018
Halloween II '81
RZ Halloween '07
Halloween Kills
Halloween OG '78
Resurrection
RZ Halloween II
Halloween Part 5
The Curse of Michael Myers
Halloween part 4
Halloween H20
Ends
Wow same here I got a nightmare myself watching 2018 Halloween lol I was paranoid honestly on the drive home late at night...imagine a lunatic on a rampage in ya town with no remorse or reason its bone chilling.
2018 is so good. The creepy vibes are on point.
1-halloween II- its the best horror sequel of all time the suspense is better in this one especially when hes in the hospital while laurie is in the room.
2-halloween original- classic great movie
3-halloween 4- its has the best fall halloween time opening. Plus the transporting scene is a good one. It's just a good sequel.
4- curse of michael myers- I still say its the goriest and scariest one no matter how bad the plot can be. Great kills
5- season of the witch---underrated horror movie its a great halloween themed movie
6-H20- jamie is good, love how they put her mom in it. It's a fun watch
7- halloween 5- THe farm and forrest scene is suspensful and jamie in the laundry chute well done scene. Couple good kills.
8-Resurrection- Only saving grace to this one is when myles is at the party and hes guiding her to safety That had some suspense. Couple good kills
9-Rob zombies halloween II Theatrical release
10-Rob zombies halloween-----I'm not a fan of either only reason part 2 is higher ITs got some good kills
11-halloween
12-halloween kills----------------------I hate all 3 movies
13-halloween ends
I was chuckling when you were talking about your thoughts on kills. Why? Because everything you disliked about it is what I enjoyed in the movie. Michael can fight like he is Batman it’s cool. I had a blast the entire time and found the fight against the firefights flat out awesome. Different strokes for different folks you know. P.S. it is a crime Halloween 2 is that low, critics really do forget how to turn off and have a good time with Horror movies.
I agree with you on Halloween 2 81'. The best sequel to the 78' OG IMO. Loved the look of the mask in this one out of all the entries honestly.
If I had to rank them here’s my ranking
1. Halloween (1978) this is as perfect of a slasher film as you’ll get.
2. Halloween 3: season of the witch I absolutely love this film, it’s wild, it’s entertaining, the suspense and tension, it’s like a reverse wicker man
3. Halloween 2 (1981) easily the best of the Michael myers sequels, dick warlock is my favorite Michael, loved the hospital setting and I feel this is the perfect counterpart with the first film.
4. Halloween: H20 this one should have ended it all, Laurie defeats Michael, the final battle is awesome, only thing I hated was the mask
7. Halloween kills this movie is just kill after kill and it’s got entertainment I just didn’t like the side story with the other escaped inmate and the ending was a bit confusing
8. Halloween (2018) the first half is pretty good but the second half with badly placed comedy and dr sartain was terrible.
9. Halloween ends the idea of a new Michael was interesting but the last of the trilogy and Michael being weak just felt rushed and easily the weakest of the trilogy
10. Halloween: resurrection this one is by far the dumbest but it’s so ridiculous it’s entertaining
11. Halloween 2 (2009) I give props to zombie for trying something new and diving into Michael’s mind but the movie is just way too weird for me with his ghost mom and loomis is absolutely horrendous in this
Hell yeah! 🎃
Thanks for sharing your list and thoughts on each movie. Always cool to read everyone’s unique perspective on the franchise.
This is how I would personally rank them
1.Halloween (1978)
2. Halloween II (1981)
3. Halloween Ends
4. Halloween H20
5. Halloween III : Season of the Witch
6. Halloween (2018)
7. Halloween 4 : The Return of Michael Myers
8. Halloween (2007)
9. Halloween II (2009)
10. Halloween 6 : The Curse of Michael Myers
11. Halloween Kills
12. Halloween Resurrection
13. Halloween 5 : The Revenge of Michael Myers
Solid list! Personally, I would slide ends a little farther back but I get why people have it ranked pretty high. Thx for sharing your list.
Halloween ends was garbage
1. Halloween 2 (1981)
2. Halloween (1978)
Top 2 are interchangeable
3. Halloween (2018)
4. Halloween Kills
5. Halloween 4
6. Halloween 5
7. Halloween H20
8. Halloween (2007)
9. Halloween Ends
10. Halloween 6
11. Halloween 2 (2009)
12. Halloween Resurrection
I can’t rank Halloween 3 because I’ve never seen it but I have no interest to considering it has nothing to do with Micheal Myers
Your top 3 is 🔥
Please put on Halloween 3 this October. You won’t regret it.
Halloween Ends should be 13
The original Halloween is absolutely by far the best as it is the only one that is terrifying by completely leaning into the stalker/creepy/anticipation horror rather than blood and gore and Michael being a beast. I don’t mind all that and Halloween 2 is also one of my favorites but even from that first sequel, Michael just didn’t have that subtle creepiness anymore that the first did so well.
Before even getting to it I'm going to predict the two movies that have a freshness rating are the original and 2018. Let's see if I'm right!
