I have actually operated on this railroad in its earlier stages and my Grandpa helped in building it over the summer of 2013. Love the video thanks for sharing.
I love you guy's, you and your wife. your videos are never borring, they're always fun to watch. you an you're wife always seem to get along an really love each other an like being around each other. If you keep making the videos I'll keep watching. keep up the good work.
Since I have connections to Wyoming myself, This layout is of particular interest! The train layout is a pure work of genius.. A must see!!!! The photographic back drop lets one know, without a doubt, you are in Wyoming! I really got a kick out of the '50s theme.. just like time travel!! We are definitely keeping "track" with the progress of this model railroad... can't wait to see the completed Evanston!! So... This means that Dale and I will return!! Hats off to Verryl!!
We need to get back there. Just got the scenery and the engine shop finished. We were with a tour when we were there last time and we were only allowed to be in the building for about 20 minutes with a lot of other people so we didn’t get to see much. Referral said come out sometime and we can do an operating session.
+Mark Hayes We don't spend to much. At least we tell ourselves that. Just bought a loco for 2K. To much? Na. I mean heck yes!! or not. This weeks show is about a guy who spends way to much as well. BUT he has found a way to make it pay for its self. SO SCORE.
Incredible. First time I hear of someone having four employees to build the layout. But it's like the people having several mechanics to restore a warbird (I personally would prefer to go in this second category, because building a layout is more fun than doing mechanic on a plane).
When Im not trucking with my own rig or racing my motorcycles I can be found working on my HO train layout. It's about 40' long and about 35' wide. It's modeled in the mid 70s and it's fall in the lower elevations and winter in the higher elevations. My Dad and I have been working on it for 12 year's now. This layout will never be finished just ask anyone in the hobby and they will agree. There is always something else to add or change. This is our own world we even have a couple of guys who lives on the mountain and they are making moonshine. It's a great way to release tension and relaxing. My best friend who is my Dad is the electrician. We both have our strong points and we have a magnificent layout. During Christmas we open the house for the neighbors to see Christmas in HO scale. The little kids next door come over to count the deer on the one mountain and if they find them all they get a quarter. Im now working on an abandoned sand pit and rock quarry.
YOUR VIDEO IS NEVER BORING ALWAYS INFORMATIVE AND INTERESTING THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEO AND YOUR TIME HAVE A GOOD DAY JIM KAMMERER OF PHILADELPHIA PA AWESOME NICE VIDEO THANK YOU AGAIN 👍👍👍👍👍👍
i also belong to the waupaca model railroad club here in wisconsin and we do about 6 shows a year and our club layout fits in a 20ft trailor and it takes us about a hour and a half to 2 hours to set up for a show. Thanks again!!
Hi Toy Lady (Karen) & Man - Home tours are always fun to see and tour. Wow - four employs to take care of the trains. 2300 freight cars and all those Big Boy Steam Power Locos.Well done layout & tour. The photoshop back grounds are very well done. (2 - 2 much, is the correct answer. Well said. Thanks for the ride. • Cheers from The Detroit & Mackinac Railway, “ A Toy Train Layout” 🚂
Mr. Verryl, if your reading this, Marx was also my first set. Several years ago I purchased the same tin red caboose that was in my set. Lucky for me, it was in excellent condition. I have mounted in my study for show. Congrats on really well laid out set. Very enjoyable video.
+Harold Bullock Is it got GREAT that we can find copies of our old toys!! We have lost almost all of out toys, yet we are trying to replace as many as we can. What a goal!! AND it's the looking thats the real fun. PS. I was an American Flyer kid.
Just happened upon your video of this layout today while watching a whole bunch on larger HO layouts. Wanted to know what it is you're driving that has a roll cage in back and a big 'ol spoiler too! (Subaru WRX? Mitsu Lancer?) Love that you guys are obviously having a blast searching out and videographing stuff like this. Awesome that you and your wife are so young at heart (not to imply you aren't young in years too!) I hope to be able to do something similar in my life some day. Thanks again.
It's a BDX Mustang. Barber Driving School build 14 of them in 07 and 08. We bought 2 of them after they stopped racing them. Love them!! This one was driven by Paul Brown who also won the Grand Prix of Long Beach in 09. (not in this car, but one somewhat like it). We just love Mustangs!!
Sweet, that brings back some memories of my childhood. Y fad took me to Limerock and we took a Skip Barber driving course over the weekend, after I had license for a few months. We ended up watching some of the Formula Ford and Formula Atlantic cars race that weekend too. I'd love to see a video of your Mustangs someday. Thx for sharing!
HELLO FROM DENMARK :-) you 2 sweethearts are AWESOME more POWER to ya ..and a huge thanks for all the fun and interresting info and warm view into an amazing thing u 2 do:-)i used to workthe rail road in denmark laying tracks all over dk. so my INFATUATION w trains -layouts ect. is really about the love in all of uz and is amazing to see and at times be a part of:-).THAAAANK U 2 god bless and weee i'm a teenager again(..oh boy..) :-)haha.. PS turn on the sorround sound and crank up the volume to hear an R4/4 Alcho start_up:-)..and shunting:-)..what an idle..engine..haha
Hi. We need to get back down there. He’s mostly got scenery in. We also want to get across the inconvaenienty wide river between here and there. In the summer. I was in your part of the world once in the winter. Sunrise and sunset at the same time. And a bit cold. Anyway we have been dreaming of British railways and miniature wonderland. And a Swiss railway I stumbled across in the dark years ago.
+Mike Troina There are a few huge layouts like this, but ALL clubs or displays. Not a "home" layout. (however this is a few miles from his home) Still a private personal layout WOW!!!!!!!!
I don't know if anyone noticed this, but the background picture, is the Sinclair refinery just east of Rawlins, wyo, i. Iknow because I drove past it for the last 35 yrs.
Isn't that cool?! All the backdrops are photos across Wyoming reworked to the 50's and stitched together to form a 1000 foot backdrop. You can spot all kinds of places.

I too had mild jitters about whether the layout is 0-scale but then remembered that us gentlemen of a certain age tend to shrink so I'm putting it down to that. Meanwhile I'm trying to reintroduce your expression "Screwing Around" back into the English (UK) language but my local pub landlord informs me that if I try it again he'll invite me into the back car park where he'll give me an education I'll never forget. He was joking, of course. I hope. There you go, two nations separated by a common language. best wishes - Al
Just stick to the proper english "cocking about" unless you are in a bar in the states where it may rase eyebrows. In California it may rase the flag.... NO MATTER!!! Keep screwing around!!!
When I hear people here "bad mouth" Great Britain it reminds me of a spoiled adolescent child calling their parents idiots. Its taken me almost 7 decades to realize what I don't know. Ah the good old days when I knew everything!! But the current state of affairs here is a disaster, mostly because everyone is sure they know everything, are right about everything, and are willing to back this up with insults and if need be, bullets. My God I wish they would all just get a hobby.
Well, model railways is a good habit to distract the mind. Meanwhile my recent graduate grandson has a T-shirt with the slogan, "Employ a teenager today - while they still know everything!" emblazened across it.
That would be number five! Shockingly we just sold that although the guy hasn’t come to pick it up just yet. We have three mustangs or should I say had all of them retired race cars. Just have a lot of that sort of thing so we had three in red white and blue number five being the red one. And pretty much the fastest of them too. However I’ve been doing some adjustments to the blue 67, now getting somewhere around 450 hp out of it and I think it could hold a tone against the red one. We will do some kind of show as we say goodbye to the red one it’s been covered on a lot of different shows how we ended up with it in the history of it and so on. Came in second place overall in 2008 in the time attack series across the United States. So yeah it’s real fast! It was driven that year by professional driver Paul Brown who passed away shortly after that season. He also won the Grand Prix of Long Beach that year. And yeah it has a roll cage!
@@ToyManTelevision I love mustangs. I sell quit a bit of them as well. Here is one with 1000hp built by KennyBells son. ua-cam.com/video/sV3REXpK-V0/v-deo.html
+Mr goat Amazing!! The layout is near his house, I don't think his neighbors would like a building like this amid the million dollar resort homes. BUT HOLLY CRAP!!! And at the speed they are going it will be in scenery in a few months.
Toy Man Television You should definitely go back when it's done, though this is an older video so I'm sure it is by now. Did you ever show what it looked like when it was finished?
+ShrinehillRail To (sort of) quote Yoda, "Don't hope, DO!!!" Just plan it, call Verl, and go to a session!! Find a way. As my brother's life has taught me, life is short, go do it!! You may not get second chance.
A real train Yardmaster that I worked with, now retired, was part of a local, but very serious group of model railroaders aka foamers. Every morning, he faxed train orders and switch lists to these guys and they would carry out the work as he ordered on an HO scale system that was in some guy's basement.
VERY NICE INDEED THE BEST HOBBY IN THE WORLD. GREAT VIDEO AWESOME INFORMATION AND COMMENTS HAVE A GOOD DAY BE SAFE AND CAREFUL OUT THERE JIM KAMMERER OF PHILADELPHIA PA THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR TIME
Hi again. And you stay safe out there as well! The virus is running amok here I think you guys are a little better off there right now. For the Fourth of July we went up into the mountains just to get away from everybody. As it happens there wasn’t a soul on the streets here in town because they were already up in the mountains. Nobody’s taking any precautions whatsoever so we just avoided everyone.
wish we did!! As we were part of the convention, we were on a bus, and in and out in 30 minutes. We need to get back, and Verryl is so good about it we will!!!!! But we were not able to get a lot of footage, and no photos! Sad!!
Hey, I see you like to travel sometimes. You should visit Chucks Depot in Marion Illinois. It’s a great shop and his personal layout in the basement is 1 scale mile. It’s great.
Nope, we bought it used. Moreover, that's how Barber delivered the car new. Try telling the DMV the car is stock and get their reaction. BUT it is how delivered new. And passed California code. But Utah calls BS.
Not yet! See there was a plan and then my hip gave out... and then there was a plan B but then we had a chance to get into the locomotive shop in Sacramento. But verl has really done amazing stuff there. Most scenery is in. More structures. More locomotives. In fact most of the 1945 roster. So dang!! We gotta get back.
Looks like this will be amazing when it's completed, and it's already pretty sweet the way it was when you filmed it. But on an unrelated note, what kind of car were you driving at the start of the video? It looks to be pretty interesting with the roll-cage and spoiler. Also, I subscribed, great videos.
+JoeOsage Hi Joe. We will get back there in a year or so as it will be much more finished. WOW. The Car is a BDX Mustang built be Barber Driving School in California. Fun Car. It was raced in 2008. We bought it last year. Check out "1917 Maxwell and other toys" as well as "Miller Motor Sports Open Track Day" to see the car in 2009 on the track.
Noah Popiolek im pretty sure mynameisray knows it's a roll cage. Scaffolding in the back is a joke from Top Gear, you know a car show. The question still stands, why does a train model enthusiasts have Scaffolding/a roll cage in his car. I'd be interested in finding out what he's got under the hood. From the looks of it he has a massive spoiler and huge sticker on his windshield.
I know I am "late to the party" but this railroad is SO COOL! Thats what I would like on my "dream layout".....1k feet of track.......hiring full time guys to manage it and help......it just checks so many boxes! Great show! please keep on screwing around! :O :) Love it!
We really need to get back there and get caught up on this. I understand the scenery is all in. Not sure where they’re at with it exactly. They had just finished the backdrop when we were there last. Now there’s always plenty to do on a rail road like this. But love to see where they are now on it.
Toy Man Television wow that would be cool to see! But then again I LOVE to see “any” model railroad or real train or hobby kit, or.....that’s why you guys are one of my favorites! (Can’t wait time see an update on this!) 🍻😃👍
Hey can’t help but notice is that a roll bar in the back of the car which I’m assuming looks like a mustang? Looks cool what’s with the roll bars tho are you making some real horsepower that’s pretty cool lol
Hi end yes!! We’ve got several mustangs well actually two now. We sold that one that was the red one with the rollbar. Roll cage really. Huge wing really radical set up. It was fun to knock around down but we have a white one and a blue one which are still really fun to drive. All three of our mustangs were race cars. Blue one also has a roll bar that being a 67. And a 2008. No rollbar but a pretty radical set up
Richard Band. He writes music for commercials. This is not exactly the same, but his music is very recognizable. If you start looking for it, you will spot his stuff all over the TV.
+TimSDobson Not much to see. Metal tilt up next to a dollar store. I think he's not interested in the outside, or even want's to "blend" in. There is a two car garage and shop too. His home is a few miles away. WOW!!!! What a place.
Really cool! I love the length of it. What scale is the train? I have a small layout in my basement that is HO scale and this one looks quite a bit bigger. Maybe someday I'll get to see this one in person.
+Terry Gold Yes to both. It's a "home" layout. But he has operating sessions all the time and always looking for people to operate with him. Not sure how you can contact him, I to would like to, but the NMRA convention people could set that up. Look for the Scottsdale AZ NMRA convention web site and email them. Fun people
+Flys Low Got this from a friend. We both bought one, he wanted to race his. I just drove mine. Anyway he hired Paul Brown to drive his. Took 2nd overall in the 2009 Time Attack series. Much more radical than mine, 370 HP at the wheels, wing and cage. Now used for shopping and screwing around.
If this is a Digital Control Cab layout he will no doubt have a computerized system for tracking the movement of trains and knowing if a track section is unoccupied. Dust filtration and air ion control must be state of the art in this building to make dust build up on the lay out nothing to worry about.
Yes, all that. We are working on a show about a huge railroad with real CTC. Off a real railroad!! While run through a modern computer, it even has the relay sounds in the sound system, so you hear the relays when you enter CTC controls from the "tower". WOW.
Hi. We have to many cars! We had seabring convertible but it died. We mostly drive a Honda Element as it goes anywhere. And a Ford Focus sometimes. But we have 3 Mustangs. All 3 are in the show at times. A red BDX racer 2007. Raced in 2008. Now a toy. And a 2008 BDX street version. And a 67 GT500. Toys!!!
Yes this guy is trying to pull one over on us. Going around telling people layouts are a smaller scale than it actually is. You look lie a fucking idiot not just a idiot.

Hi!! We do need to get back down and check out this rail road it’s been years and we understand it’s mostly finished now! Next time we get down there we want to be able to spend more than a half hour inside the building! We were on a bus last time and that we were very limited in time

+Mr goat Amazing!! The layout is near his house, I don't think his neighbors would like a building like this amid the million dollar resort homes. BUT HOLLY CRAP!!! And at the speed they are going it will be in scenery in a few months.
+Toy Man Television yeah that figures i was wondering why there was no scenery.
As fast as they go they may have mountains up by now. It's bee over a month.
Toy Man Television You should definitely go back when it's done, though this is an older video so I'm sure it is by now. Did you ever show what it looked like when it was finished?
Great video !! Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work... Lance 🚂
+CHESAPEAKE & OHIO Thanks!!
I like to see the layout when it's done.
We are heading back SOON.
That is really cool
You should see the one in Blissfield Michigan, it is in two buildings and it's a Triple Decker.
Like to see that! Is it a club?
Yes, the club has 32 members. That trackage is over 2900 feet.
Love to see that!! Perhaps at some point... We were planning a trip to Detroit at some point to see the "bubble cars"
estou procurando palavras p/dizer o q.estou sentindo são tantas maravilhas q.e difícil expressar, parabéns vcs. São maravilhosos
Me encantan los trenes, pero los mundos pequeños son mi verdadero amor. Edificios. Árboles. Montañas.
Have y'all returned to thet layout? Or hear of any updates?
Nope. We really need to get back. Soon!!
Beautiful Hope to see it some day
+ShrinehillRail To (sort of) quote Yoda, "Don't hope, DO!!!" Just plan it, call Verl, and go to a session!! Find a way. As my brother's life has taught me, life is short, go do it!! You may not get second chance.
Your Right there!! from Newman
race mustang?
A real train Yardmaster that I worked with, now retired, was part of a local, but very serious group of model railroaders aka foamers. Every morning, he faxed train orders and switch lists to these guys and they would carry out the work as he ordered on an HO scale system that was in some guy's basement.
Yes!! Ws have a show on a guy who not only runs his HO layout per FRA rules, he has a FRA guy certify it ever 5 years as an FRA railroad!!!!
Putting up soon.
Is this layout available to tour????
you didn't perchance to have any track-side photos of this layout in a gallery somewhere do you? this layout is massive.
wish we did!! As we were part of the convention, we were on a bus, and in and out in 30 minutes. We need to get back, and Verryl is so good about it we will!!!!! But we were not able to get a lot of footage, and no photos! Sad!!
That layout is actually HO, I have been to it and it is incredible.
Great documentary, thanks for sharing.
We got to get back and see how this rail roads coming together! We hear a lot of the scenery is in
Uh, that sounds awesome. Will be watching when the next one comes. Thanks.
Incredible. Is this thing in HO? As some others have said, it looked a lot larger than HO in many of the shots.
Thanks for sharing. Is this layout open for public viewing?
Not exactly. But they are always looking for first time operators! See if you can find them and ask to join them for a session.
OK thanks.
Hey, I see you like to travel sometimes. You should visit Chucks Depot in Marion Illinois. It’s a great shop and his personal layout in the basement is 1 scale mile. It’s great.
Love to see that!! This one is now sceniced. Mostly need to get back.
lovely, such passion
We will do a follow up soon!!
Neat . What kind of car is that your driving
+Sunday_funday77 It's a BDX mustang. We have 2 of them. Built by Barber Driving school in California. Fun cars!!!
great job thanks for the vid
+gary wise We will get back there too. As the layout gets more finished. And do some operating.
It also interesting, that your car has a roll cage!
Hum.. yup that’s the red mustang. Blue one has a roll bar. Toys!!!
Just... Insane! Wow!
Amazing!!
I get to go play trains all day everyday. And I get paid for it, Oh yea where do I sign up?? LOL Thanks for sharing this
Did you fit the half cage yourself in your car?
Nope, we bought it used. Moreover, that's how Barber delivered the car new. Try telling the DMV the car is stock and get their reaction. BUT it is how delivered new. And passed California code. But Utah calls BS.
what kind of car is that too have a roll cage in it
Its a BDX Mustang. BDX 05. ua-cam.com/video/RRS3GdPzMLI/v-deo.html
What ever happened to this layout. Is there a part two or follow up
@@ToyManTelevision Indeed! Thanks for the quick response
Are the passenger trains from Walthers
Not sure. All locomotives are brass so could be the passenger cars are too. Don’t know...
Why all the 'screen time' for Verryl? What do we need to see him so much?
Right. I needed more footage of the railroad. On a bus. Little time. Ned to get back and spend some REAL time.
What’s up with the roll bar ?
It’s a race car. We have 3 mustangs that were all race cars when new. We don’t race them, we just screw around with them.
excellent.
+Javed Ahmad Amazing railroad!
I would love to have a layout like that also!!!!
+Billy schulz Really!! I'm planning a new layout now. Two really, but nothing like this!! WOW!!!
Why do you have scaffolding in the back of your car?
mynameisray its a roll cage, smh!
RedSoul001 Looks like a pretty serious rear wing on the back of that car, I'm wondering what it is.
We love and collect Mustangs. This one is BDX 5, retired race car. Take a look: ua-cam.com/video/RRS3GdPzMLI/v-deo.html
Toy Man Television Thanks for the reply, great videos and loving the Mustang!
That was beyond outstanding. thanks for a very very outstanding video.
John Moore thanks!! Did you see the one from 2 weeks ago? Amazing!!
good video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!! We sure have fun making them!!
Is that a roll bar in the vehicle?
+Ron Torromeo Yup. It's a BDX Mustang by Barber Driving School. Track car. We do love out cars!!
(Can’t wait time see an update on this!) 🍻😃👍
VERY GOOD AND AWESOME VIDEO I LIKE HIS ANSWER TO TO MUCH ZOINK IS NICE ALSO.
And a 2008. No rollbar but a pretty radical set up
Awesome very cool to know your also a train fan and car guy like myself! Keep up the great content you guys rock!
Nice one! It's almost the size that I want for freelance system.... 😉😄
nice to have the space
Hey I recognize that music you put in the background. What is it?
Richard Band. He writes music for commercials. This is not exactly the same, but his music is very recognizable. If you start looking for it, you will spot his stuff all over the TV.
seeing the exterior of the building would have been cool.
It’s HO. I just got close with the camera. 5,000 feet of HO track! 80 scale miles!
Absolutely amazing layout! I wish I had 4000 square feet!
...eheh me too!
I'm glad to watch. All I can do to keep up with my small space.
How about the 1500 square foot shop in a separate building?
Can't help it but to notice you driving a mustang and would like to see some picture of it
You obviously haven't subscribed to Dale's channel as he exhorts you to do at the end of the video.
I had one quick question, is this open to the general public or is it a private facility
Fun people
+Toy Man Television Contact Verryl via his web site: wyomingdivision.org/
Umm why is the car caged?
+Flys Low It's a BDX Mustang. Race ready street car.
WOW.
What do you drive?!
Toys!!!
It looks great.I felt like I was there with the camera angle.Keep up the good work.
Thanks We need to get back there. I hear its much better!! With 4 full time people working on it it should be amazing!!!
that railroad looks like "O" scale, not "HO"
Does. So well done!!!!! We will be getting back there FOR SURE!!!!
Definitely bigger than H0 at least.
I was trying to figure that out. It looks like S to me!
Yes this guy is trying to pull one over on us. Going around telling people layouts are a smaller scale than it actually is. You look lie a fucking idiot not just a idiot.
Stay calm and have fun.
cool video I wish I had someone to help me with my railroad like a closed friend that could help me do something like that or make my dream layout
Just dive in and have fun!!!!!!
Check for Miniaturwunderland in Hamburg / Germany. That´s what I´d expect.
Planning a trip there. WOW.
NICE VIDEO THANK you FOR your VIDEO and your TIME be safe and you ENJOY your screwing AROUND TIME with you and Karen both are TALENTED people who enjoy the train life. Be safe and careful your VIDEO are fine I APPRECIATE it and you both JIM KAMMERER OF PHILADELPHIA PA THANK you AGAIN FOR your VIDEO very INTERESTING and INFORMATIVE 👍👍👍👍👌
Hi!! We do need to get back down and check out this rail road it’s been years and we understand it’s mostly finished now! Next time we get down there we want to be able to spend more than a half hour inside the building! We were on a bus last time and that we were very limited in time
