This is near where I live! . Also, found you by accident when I was looking up the Wari because they're neat. Watching all your stuff now. High quality podcasting and good sound quality right off the bat. Great job! Also I'm so glad someone is covering this general subject matter your channel does. I've been looking for stuff like this for /years/. You're doing the Fang God's work.
The shell midden burials makes me really curious what was near me. As a kid people told me that the mouth of the Ecorse had ‘sand dunes’ where naive people were buried, but since having sand dunes where we are makes zero sense based on both the soil makeup having no sand AND it would make sense for dunes to be along a river where the prevailing winds would’ve pushed the sand into the water, I have to assume those were once either mounds or middens or a combination of both
Hey Ed, Im well on my way through your content and I look forward to watching all of the videos in order to see how you have changed over time. There are some really interesting videos I cannot wait to get to, in due time. Have you thought about doing a video on the chronicles of 8 Deer Jaguar Claw? Or even the Codices as a whole, it would be an amazing episode for sure!
Artifacts I’m dealing with could be from one of these two cultures, Adena or the hopewell… But we have Birdman, and lots of bird hats… I need to learn a little more and I still need to finish the video…Thanks for the upload, great as always. 🎃
The mound they destroyed was 100+ foot long (Half of it or more was already gone when I found it) and 40 feet tall. There are stone mounds in the surrounding woods. The mound was completely made of clay, and actually a lot of the clay was in the same motifs (as you call them) as the lithic Artifacts. Did you know that there’s no way for a private citizen to get something dated? They don’t wanna get caught up in the politics either… just about all of the points are Uniface. No archaeological investigation was done before the building of the housing complex, and this area had never been developed As far as anyone can tell from historical records. There are several people helping me to give me this information, when I asked the State Archaeologist for the LiDAR he gave me LiDAR data from a entirely different area.
Hey there Mister Dr Ed Barnhart, you're allright, glad l stumbled across your channel, l have watched several of your videos on my library streaming channel and just really enjoy the way you share and present your knowledge and information
