Guys Feyenoord supporter here. Please be happy that your club is moving this quick. Because this is the best coach you can whish for your club. He is calm, collected, speaks fleunt English, knows how to work with talents and big players. Feyenoord was in big turmoil when he joined. He turned everything around and made the whole of Rotterdam and Netherlands fall in love with his style of play. His players know the plan and he plays with high intensity with beautiful combinations. And look at the last couple of year how the dutch clubs are performing in Europe, we are not the Mickey Mouse league like we where before. We have overtaken Portugal on the coefficient list, which we can also thank Arne Slot for. Ten Hag worked at a club that had all their affairs in order and made the team play decent football again. But Arne Slot found a club with nothing in order, just lost their biggest player and could barely find their way in to Europe, and is leaving the club on top, with all the players increased in value. Don't compare Slot with Ten Hag but compare him with Da Zebri or Pep. He has multiple time said he admired the style of Pep and watches most Premier League games and studies them on a high level.
He is also not a yes man, when Spurs came knocking last summer, he listened to the plan and could earn a lot more. But he didn't find the plan of the club fitting to his plan. If Liverpool would have waited to the end of the season, he would have been snapped up by Bayern or Barcelona.

Completely agree with what has been said. It may feel a little underwhelming for some fans as he is a bit of an unknown to those that don’t follow the Dutch league but I can say that he’s very highly regarded and Feyenoord fans love him. He speaks really well about football and he’s a personable guy, very different to Erik ten Hag who comes across a bit robotic with the way he speaks.
The thing is that even though Feyenoord are 2nd right now, it’s no shame as PSV have been outstanding this season with their superior attacking options. He has really turned Feyenoord in a very good team considering their finances.
An interesting point might be that Marco van Basten has praised Slot and his Feyenoord on several occasions for their build up play from the back, something which we have looked slow and laborious at in the past few weeks.

FSG are not "cheap skates", they are working within FFP rules, we can only spend what the club earns, not what FSG earns. Unless you want points deducted like Everton, or 115 FFP charges like Man City.
FSG have spent millions extending Anfield and a brand new training ground, because in those areas FFP doesn't apply.

Liverpool should be really happy with Arne Slot as a Feyenoord fan I can tell you that we absolutely adore this guy. He plays attractive football with a high press for instance in the champions league this season only Man City had a higher press. I think Szoboszlai in his system could be really good at CAM.
It also would not surprise me if he puts Trent Alexander-Arnold in the CDM position as he also sometimes does this with Feyenoord their current RB Geertruida. It also would not surprise me if this is a player he would like to take with him from Feyenoord to Liverpool as a new right back option as he is versatile being able to play CDM, RB and CB.
He is also not like ten Hag doing everything with the biggest budget at Ajax instead he rebuild the squad and made current players better and with a budget that is much less than Ajax and PSV.
To further sum up his resume he made AZ Alkmaar back to being the second best to the original big 3.
To me it is a match made in heaven for them!

I have had so many Dutch mates, who are Feynoord fans AND NOT Feynoord fans, that rave about this guy. It's basically as good of a hire as you can make outside of a CL winning or top 5 league winning manager in terms of trophies. But in terms of fit for Liverpool out of the box, this guys has it.

Allowing Sadio Mane to leave because they didn’t want to increase his salary a bit has come back to hurt Liverpool. Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez are no way near the level of Bobby Firminio and Sadio Mane, unfortunately Diogo Jota is injured all the time. They relied on Mohammed Salah all this time but he can’t do it alone hence why he has gone off the boil completely. FSG allowing the documentary also was a bad idea because Klopp said in a previous interview that he would leave the club if that went ahead and he was true to the word.
After the initial shock, I'm fine with it. It could work under the new structure, where he's just responsible for the playing side. My only issue is that he might not be a pull in terms of players coming in.
I trust in Edwards so I trust in the process.

Arne Slot is an excellent trainer for any top club, including Liverpool. Barcelona, Bayern Munich & Real Madrid would also be nice. Then he can go for the Champions League win. The only thing I don't like about Slot is the idiotic zone coverage of the defense on free kicks & corner kicks, instead of man coverage. As a result, his teams regularly concede goals. A zone can't score a goal, but a man can. Why then cover a zone & not a man? It's that simple. Hopefully Slot will do something with this & change it ❤
The step up from Eredivisie to Premier League makes me anxious, theres not many succes stories when players or managers go from a Dutch club straight to European elite. However, Slot's personality, character and playstyle do make him a good fit for Liverpool. He's done a phenomenal job at both AZ and Feyenoord, i'd even say a more impressive job than Ten Hag has done with Ajax. Slot definitely deserves a chance at a big club, and i back him to be succesful, but man it's a big leap for him.

i don't think that the fans should worry at all about this potential appointment. The new manager will be part of the team that is even now in the process of moving on from the Klopp era. The backroom team is top notch, and in Michael Edwards has someone who could walk into any club he chose. The new director of football is a man who has done a remarkable job at Bournemouth, and it is these talented individuals who the new manager will be working with. Football is very much a team game, both on and off the pitch. Liverpool has an off-field team that is as good as anyone's.

Lols! I just had the most amazing thought ever in the history of football.....who else is out of contract this year? David Moyes! It's perfect, he's managed Everton and Man U, and obviously having had the experience of taking over for another legendary manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, he'd be uniquely qualified and experienced to do the same in replacing Jurgen Klopp! Also he's obviously really familiar with this part of the country as to keep the family happy, simples! YNWA!

First time I've heard mention of Slot.... in my entire life. And I follow Redmen / other football channels (and of course, football hah) very closely. So we struck out on the first two coaches? What's going on there? I've got to say, I'm all for off-piste, 'lesser known' coaches, but this is a very odd feeling as an LFC fan. From Klopp to an unknown (from my point of view)..... scary times (and I don't mean that it has to be bad, just scary hah). We do realise that we expect our coaches to compete for every trophy possible, yes? Will have my 100 % backing if he comes in, but these are weird times.... YNWA

He could be the next best thing but i have to be honest when i say that this appointment doesnt make me excited at all feels too much of a gamble really but lets hope for the best. We will support him no matter what
People are so dismissive, same people would’ve said sell Jones and Elliot last season . Just think it is very difficult to change formation and style of play . United tried to change from counter attacking to possession based and if they get a few injuries they’d back to counter attacking. If you can’t understand why they want to continue the style and similar formations when our youth teams and reserves are set up this way there is no agruing with you. This season when we had many injuries the youth player managed to slot in the team in a cup final and it was no problem I think that is probably worth 10-15 points a season.

i've never been more disappointed at the end to a season mate. i genuinely believe we could and should have won either the league or the europa but we imploded klopp didnt handle the pressure and was trying to take the pressure off players sending mixed messages when he should have used that nervous energy to just FUCKING GO FOR IT! move everything up a level. I honestly dont think we've lost both the league and the europa this year as we werent good enough.
Guys I’m sorry but this isn’t washing for me. Klopp had won back to back bundesliga titles and taken Dortmund to a champions league final when we signed him and we were coming off finishing 6th the season before. This season we’re still in a title race one of the best 3 teams in the country and we’re going for a guy that’s got to a conference league final and won one eredevise. 🤔

Everyone is missing the point. A world class manager with box-office appeal gets people talking and players coming to that club. Slot is NOT one of those signings, by any metric. Fuckling joke of a signing. Couldn't even get out of the Champs League group stage. Average, average, average. Ten Hag looks a worldy in comparison. Edwards living on past successes and the genius of Klopp.
