Got the Loxjie today it’s been running now for 5 Hrs, wow amazing the clarity and sound stage. It works great with my Tannoy Gold Studio Monitors. . The SMSL SU9 just didn’t give me goose bums like this does. The loxjie has so much more detail and clarity . My conclusion is that it depends on your system and speakers you are using plus room acoustics. All I can recommend to people is buy it and try it and see how it behaves with your system. I can’t agree on all you describe . I think are judging it from a very high place. Magic little DAC for the Money . Well built and good Menü with the Remote control. 5 Hrs listening and not tired. I hope they make the D30 with XLR outputs. Keep up the good work.
That’s true. A lot of people don’t care for the sound of many DACS that use the ESS chip. It all depends on how it’s implemented etc. but it’s all a matter of taste. Like you say it’s all system dependent and many folks enjoy the smooth sound of DACS using a well implemented AK chip.
I just ordered this as my first DAC because of your review, very budget limited, going to use it with Superlux HD 668Bs and a Denon PMA-560 plugged into some Lompoo LP42s. I gotta say, what a time to get into audio! Cheap goodness all around.

same I have two great Dacs but I like to stay informed on the current technology. The price to performance ratio improvement of Dacs over time is quite impressive.

Hi Vadim, It doesn't...it's a side step at best. Plus, D30 is softer sounding, smoother that doesn't bode well with metal. You need a really snappy and fast sounding DAC and that is SMSL SU-9. Check that out, it's more expensive but a whole lot better. It was reviewed here too.
Fair dac for the price. Beginners should take this into consideration. I personally would still go with a Topping D50 for just a little bit more. More refined. Good review 👍

I seriously consider this purchase. The only thing for i have second thoughts is the questionable reliability. My first choice is the Cambridge Audio DacMagic Plus, but ofcourse its almost double the money. So, i guess i am in a dilemma.
Would this dac pair well with the Keces E40? I find the Keces E40 a bit sibilant and sometimes a bit of sharpness in the midrange. Speakers used with the Keces are Triangle Zetas and Focal 807W. Would the Loxjie D30 bring out the best the amp has to offer with classical, jazz, blues, folk and progressive rock (Classic rock and harder usually played in the car)? Or would going up to an SMSL M200 or even a SMSL SU-9 be a better option. I like as much detail/transparency as the Keces E-40 can provide at low to moderate volumes while keeping a still dynamic presentation. I tried an inexpensive Aiyima using an ESS9018K2M and while detailed, it seemed a bit closed in compared to a similar dac using a CS4398 chip, more clinical and had what I think some refer to as glare. Hopefully, the ESS 9038 series chips have dealt with this. So, any recommendations (taken as an opinion so no pressure) as to dacs complementing the Keces E40 appreciated.
How about a hifiman sundara on the D30 ? Would that be ok ? I believe the sundara is not that thirsty for power ? They are stil good planar and a good match in price / quality ratio I think !

The Loxjie D30 looks incredible!! At its price point it will be increasing the competition for Topping E30 DAC

Very thorough review, thanks. Quick tip - you need to look at your recording levels as your voice is clipping quite harshly.
I exchanged my camera with a new one and was still learning its preamp settings. Not going to happen in my next videos.

These must have had a big price increase. Price of link and a quick search shows the price $250 about a $100 increase. Not so sure for that price.

Both are pretty much the same, minor differences. For electronica, a Topping D50S worked better for me.

D50/D50S is considerably sharper sounding. I depends a lot on taste of course :)
I this DAC can be a great one for older people like me that can really hear much pass 13khz.

Will it drive them? Decent enough. Good enough? Not really. 100mW is too low by planar standards.
