This run has been insane lol, the only bit of real bad luck you’ve had was the gun store alarm, but considering you got the near perfect condition van on day 1-2, those early axes, and just dodged the chopper while prepping your bunker to dodge the chopper I would say it’s either going to be the most frustrating death ever (accidentally walking off the gangplang/jumping out a window/clipping through the world and dying to a horde) or this series is going to be one of those epic sagas of victory
after watching you spending countless hours hunting down sledgehammers and lead pipes without any luck, it seems the zomboid gods decided to give you a break. honestly, one of the best and lucky starts i have ever seen. well deserved
One thing that your playthroughs of Zomboid have taught me that going in with a specific goal in mind to do something can be just as fun as trying to survive for as long as possible and I appreciate that insight
The timing of the chopper was incredible here! I'm always in such a panic around the event but you've given some very useful hints in prepping for it. Thanks.
@@Rhadamant And to think, that it could be so easy.. just use a screwdriver and a hammer. :D But no, this elusive nanotech hasn't been invented yet by the mighty Louis!
This has been the first series that introduced me to your channel, and I can now say that you'll be a main stay on my recomended for a long time if all your content is this good.
Hey Rhadamant, I'm not being a pro or anything, however I do know one thing, maybe they changed it but last time I played, I discovered that it is REALLY easy to level up carpentry, without T.V. or video tapes - last time I played anyways. If you cut down a lot of trees (Or go to a place with a lot of already cut logs, like the lumber place - McCoys) then use your saw to turn all the logs into planks, these things give carpentry XP, and if you have a lot of trees nearby it is super easy to just do a little deforestation, then turn them all into planks, it gives you a lot of Carpentry XP and as a bonus you then have a lot of planks to build good stuff with - I discovered this because I wanted to make my base in the best location ever so I had a spot, that had a swath of trees between it and the road, so I cleared a path, and then laid down a wooden floor (driveway) to prevent more trees from growing in that area, and man, I leveled up my carpentry so fast, before I even started building my structures. Hope if this is still valid that it is something helpful for you to use, perhaps in a future playthrough if you don't plan on it this time. I personally like to use those crates, so I pick them up to transport them to my permanent location, and the better my carpentry, the less often I fail so I can get a lot of the crates for personal use.
What's more exciting? Watching me cut trees and turn them into boxes to break down for 5 hours or for me to risk my life breaking into video stores and book stores to get the tapes and books and kill 100s of zombies while I do it? I think that one of those two things is incredibly boring to watch and the other is exciting, so which should I do? The answer is rather obvious. *You're absolutely right, given simply grinding it is easy to level carpentry, but don't lose sight of the fact that I am a UA-camr trying to entertain people, not a video game min/maxer trying to bore everyone to sleep.*
@@Rhadamant - I just wasn't sure if this procedure still worked, it had been a while since I have done it. As far as boring or not goes, breaking down crates or sawing planks out of logs? Six of one, half a dozen of the other, they both take time to level, I am just of the opinion that the logs route is faster, with the added bonus of not destroying the crates as often - I don't BUILD the boxes, I place them down after picking them up.
So the chopper can spot you through an uncovered window even if that window is on the other side of the room? That is a bit of a nasty mechanic. I suppose in default settings there is only 1 chopper - but still.
Regarding corpses outside your base, corpse sickness is effected by inside vs outside. So you could be inside a clean building, with a thousand corpses a tile away just outside, but still be fine. That is my understanding anyways...
Hahah no kidding. I do A LOT of cooking for myself IRL. I've actually worked as a chef for a catering business and also as a chef at a Greek restaurant, so when I tell you I know how to dice and mince onions *believe me* . lol
I've never played this before (this series has convinced me to get the game), so I'm curious why the chopper is their to hunt you down, rather than try to rescue survivors? Or is it one of those "big corp/government = bad" situations?
The game never gives you a reason, you have to come up with your own. In my head canon its because the infection is fully contained within a perimeter and the only things the government thinks will escape are humans not zombies so they do their best to stop humans from finding a way out to protect everyone outside
People asking you about the helicopter. You prepping for the helicopter packing up books and magazines. Here comes the CHOPPA!!! That was EXCELLENT!!!! RIBBIT!!!

Once you can survive PZ and it isn't too much of a struggle you can start to come up with fun goals for yourself =]

It was absolutely hilariously perfect, I entirely agree!

Why does the emergency frequency end in an even number?
Or better yet, why is it even FM and not AM? Who knows, its just video game things.
If that's a word game...
To halve the odds of finding it?
