I love driverless trains - you can sit down at the front or at the back end of the train (where the cab is supposed to be) and view what's ahead or behind (on the Docklands Light Railway in London it has an amazing view!)
A one way ticket within Copenhagen costs 24 crowns (3.20 euros) or 36 crowns (4.80 euros) depending on the distance. If your destination is in the suburbs outside of Copenhagen it is even more expensive. If you are caught without a ticket, the fine is 750 crowns (100 euros).
Denmark has very cheap fares compared to neighbouring countries. You can cross most of greater Copenhagen (the city and surrounding areas) for 36 kr. If you go outside the capital area you go into the regional zone system, which is a lot more expensive if you don't make those trips regularly - regular commuters with the travel card earn discounts
Interesting! Here in Budapest now we have 2 automatised lines (M2,M3), but there is a driver in it whose job is only open/close the doors. Line M4 will be opening in this month...80 meter long fully automatised trains without driver like this in Coppenhagen :)
Its REALLY rare to see 2 danish metros hold THAT close to each other. (Look at christianshavn st.) and wanna hear something? I were siting in the metro towards Vestamager. When it came to Ørstad, it stopped like 5 meters from the platform. And just were just like "nope im not gonna move anymore" for 1 1/2 hour. And then the security came. That day i were scared, and after that, i were pissed off at Copenhagen Metro. But there has been a LOOOOT of problems in this metro.

wow, this is a hell of a price! In Bucharest, the one way ticket costs 0.5 euros and it is available universally! The fine is ~10 euros if you can pay it on time, or it can double if you don't have enough money with you.
Danish fines are designed to be punitive. Ticket prices are cheap for Western European standards - most journeys cost the equivalent of 20 minutes work - and thus the fines are high because you have no excuse for not paying your fare

There are no motormen at all, it's an automatic metro, sometimes accompained by security. So if you start at the terminus, you can sit down in the front place :-)
Dear Lokleitung, I hope that I reach you this way because I have a question; yesterday my son of 2 years old was watching this video, he just clicked and it was playing while I was working on my music and I think it is really fitting the song as a videoclip. Can I use your work somehow please? I can send you the song so you can see what I mean. Kind regards, Hadewig Kras
no. They run Monday - Friday from about 5.30 am to about 1 am. On nights between Friday-Saturday and Saturday-Sunday they run a reduced schedule with trains every 20-30 minutes. The actual start and stop times vary throughout the year and sometimes depending on events in the city - like on nights after concerts, football matches, or things like the carnival, they will run later and more frequently
Thumbs "up". Interesting video, tho' short. Of note: one wouldn't worry about missing a train, for the next train arrived within a minute or two, for at every station there was a train going in the opposite direction. Secondly, interesting building designs along the route, designs that changed between every station, as if one were traveling through different contiguous cultures through Europe. Lastly, where's the motorman? Down: lost video focus in the subway. Nice video overall, nevertheless.
the trains and stations are monitored 24/7 (even when the trains don't run) and report all issues to the control centre. They have sensors by all the stations to check if the doors close correctly, and whether there is anyone or anything on the tracks. Since the system opened in 2003, bar a few technical problems the first year or two, there has never been any incidents where anyone were in danger. Rather the system is so sensitive to people being near the platform edges or throwing trash on the track, that the trains often stood still, so they had to install safety doors on the above ground stations to keep the safety system from panicking all the time
I cant believe that it was built 15 years ago!Its seems so modern!Well done Denmark!
According to ZM:S tests, it is still one of the best metro systems of the world.

I'm filming this soon as part of my upcoming short visit to Copenhagen and I'm so excited that I can't wait!

..Love the design of the underground stations with the doors on the platform. Taking safety to a new level...
what a great city! I was there 2 months ago! its incredible that the metro is 247!

Superb video !
Great video !
best video on youtube. it's the seventh time i'm watching this.
This Ansaldo-Breda model of trains is going to be used in upcoming services in Honolulu and in Taipei
Nice video. I can imagine as if I stood inside of the train. Here in Poland we don't have such modern network of subways :(

13:10 It's crazy how close these subway cars can get to each other. A great advantage of automated systems...

Very nice métro place
they subway got front seats? pretty cool!
Black riding is extemely expensive in Denmark. For me, it was free only because I'm 1.90 m tall, and the ticket inspector's height was approx. 1.70 m.
Hyggelig video! :)
Brilliant video, the british railway could learn a lesson from this system.
The British railways could learn a lesson from nearly all railway systems :)
Wakajce Yes, sadly you are right. What type of power do these units use?
robertrmclean It's a steam engine -- ain't that obvious?
@@WakajceIronías. Los británicos inventaron el sistema de transporte ferroviario urbano o llamado Metro. Y ahora tiene mucho por mejorar.
I like the sound ( It souns like the Talent Trams )

Our trams in Athens have the same sound
I love Legoland metro!! This metro is so tiny, that it remind me of a rail in a coal mine !!

Nice video but not easy to watch because of problems with autofocus in dark places. Next time try to use manual focus for a better result.

Warum sind die Tunnelstationen mit Bahnsteigtüren ausgestattet, und die oberirdischen nicht?
Mittlerweile haben alle Stationen Türen.
Hi i can't speak danish im from Sweden but i like the danish Metro do you have See the swidish Metro?

God video og godt optaget, lad os få noget mere.. :-)

I think its not a train, but a robot

Utroligt der ik var nogen forsinkelser på hele turen :D
Looks similar to Vancouver SkyTrain

This Metro is like a little tramp... But it cost 10X as much.
It would be a waste to have anything bigger...
i like trains but i dont see anything entertaning in this voideo
Next time please switch off auto focus...

I couldn't help noticing the distance between the tracks.... an amazing waste of profitable land space.

I don't trust automatic systems running the trains, there is no fail-safe!
der is and emergency brake instalt on the wall
