  • Vapa Puli Pitha Recipe
    Serving Size: 2-3
    Ingredients:
    Batter
    2 Cups Water
    ½ Tsp Salt
    2 Cups Rice Flour
    Filling
    1 Tsp Clarified Butter
    1 Pc Cinnamon Stick
    2 Tbsp Semolina
    ½ Cup Dried Coconut
    1 Cup Milk
    1 Pinch Salt
    ½ Cup Jaggery
    Instructions:
    Bring water to boiling point in a pot then add salt and rice flour
    Gently distribute the flour, cook for 5 minutes on low heat with lid on
    Remove lid, stir and set aside to cool
    In a pan, add clarified butter, cinnamon stick, semolina and give it a mix
    Add shredded dried coconut, milk and stir until milk is completely absorbed and reduced
    Add jaggery and mix until consistency is thick then set side
    Take the batter and knead for 6-8 minutes until smooth, add water a little bit of water if needed
    Make dough into small spherical, gently flatten it out with hand then use a rolling pin to get a diameter of 3-4 inch
    Take about 1 tsp or desired amount of filling for each flat batter sheets, fold it in half and seal using your fingers or fork
    Steam for 10 minutes and ready to serve in room temperature or cold
