Brian I'll take you at your word that all is okay. However, I do believe in that old saying, "Where there is smoke there is fire." Years ago I taught typewriting and a new Smith Corona machine started to smoke and soon there were small flames! Thanks for posting wonderfully informative videos.
I have the same sewing machine and i found it in a old box , it’s so cool . I would really love to know how to fix it but I don’t know what is wrong with it . It even has the cool little Lightbulb on the side intact
@bigcuy41 I promise it's just the oil burning.. :) With constant sewing this little motor gets very hot, it'll likely need to be replaced or rebuilt soon. I have a 1.2 amp on a kenmore I don't use anymore, maybe I'll switch it out for that one......
Oh, man....I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I don't think you're supposed to "oil up the motor." Maybe a little grease on the gears, but not oil. I just finished refurbishing and rewiring a Singer 15-91, and everything I read concerning the motor suggested keeping oil well away from the motor itself. Grease on the gears, yes, but never oil.
Not dangerous? You've never dealt with oil catching fire. You can kiss your windings insulation goodbye as well if it gets to hot and that'll be the end of the motor right there......

Hello! I've got a Vigorelli Maxima and it's smoking too!
I think at 0:57 the engine catches fire.
Would love to know what happened next.
