I Built a Mini Hydroelectric Generator

  • In this video, I take on the challenge of building a mini hydroelectric generator that can turn water pressure into usable electricity! Using a Pelton wheel, a 3D-printed case, and a garden hose, I designed, assembled, and tested this compact hydropower system.
    You’ll see the entire process-from framing the setup to creating custom parts and finally testing the generator to see how much power it can produce. While the final design outputs around 22 watts at 12 volts, there was plenty of trial and error involved, including testing different motors, nozzles, gear ratios, and spoon counts.
