If Boot's Dad was saying "knock him out" that was dumb advice and Boots needs another trainer. Boots did not take advantage of his natural strengths. He should have slowed down and worked on outpointing Karen. He should not have focused on being exciting or going for a knockout, while getting hit too much. Karen is a smart fighter with excellent movement and counter punching and Boots should have respected that.

Karen is a lot better than we thought he was. I did a film study prior to the first fight and he looked like a walk in the park, but fought differently than anything I saw previously. Team Ennis was familiar with Karen and he fought differently again. Karen has great foot movement, nice angles, timing and he’s durable as hell. Had Karen been popular, same winner, different post fight reaction. Would love to see Boots in a unification next.

The inactivity is awful for Boots. You need to fight the best and fight often. Those fights increase your skill and pedigree. He's definitely relying on talent way too much. He has to get in the ring more and focus more. On another note, Karen is way better than people are giving him credit for. That is a tough out for anyone.

@throwinfitz1144 From January 2020 to now, it is just under 5 years. In that time frame, Boots has had 10 fights. To prove what I just said is elementary research, so I'm not sure why you're not getting it. Ennis is a dog , dude has a crazy chin and comes to fight. I think he needs somebody in his corner that calms him down and not riles him up more to go for the kill. His dad was terrible in the corner, I feel like he needs calmness in the corner like Calvin Ford or Bomac carries themselves . He didn’t faint at all the whole fight, he was just trying to knock him out with his POWER not his BRAINS. I still think he is phenomenal.

Karen is talented, thats why Boots struggled and I doubt Ennis wanted to be hit so much, Ennis said he was going to KO Karen, it felt like he was looking for the KO too much, changing positions, but looking wild, off balalnce, pops yelling at him. Boots fight was more entertaining and he actually dropped his opponent and wasn’t even close on the score cards unlike Crawford vs madrimov he got hit too and only won by two rounds

Excellent breakdown. Boots needs another trainer. I hope Boots does not fight Crawford after watching his last two fights. Crawford is very smart and he hits too hard and accurately on counter punching for someone with holes in their defense like Boots. It would very likely to end badly for Boots if he cannot hurt Crawford early in the fight. I don't advise Boots to go to 154 if he going to be fighting like he did last night.

Jaron Ennis was playing with his food tonight
However, Karen also, is not given enough credit for fighting abilities he showed glimpses of that in the first fight and it really showed in the second fight. Why don’t we give him some props?

I think we’re undervaluing Karen’s performance a bit. Tbh after this I would probably like to see him fight again. I knew before the fight that this wouldn’t be a walk in the park for Boots because in his last 3 fights, he got 2 knockouts which told me he improved since they last fought

Brian Norman would have gotten Karen out of there in six rounds..... Boots stock is dropping.... All of his knockouts came off fighting tomato cans..... Bud and Ryan see a plate of food when they see Boots....

No he would not have Karen’s defense and footwork is high level on top that his conditioning and ring IQ is high. Brian Norman never met a guy who’s awkward and slick as he is, he would have the same issues as Boots.

Spot on.... Wemby like talent, but still getting outplayed by Chet...... Boots lack of focus was concerning.... Too much I'm soo good I can be like Floyd and talk to others outside the ring, while I'm fighting.....I was waiting for something big to just catch him....... His pops seemed to give no technical advice too..... Just get him outta there doesn't count lol....Boots could be that dude....So much talent and heart....But he needs to sharpen it up.

Bozy needs to give better instructions than “get him out of there”.
If he told him to be patient & work behind his jab he may have gotten a late stoppage. Ironically I think Bomac is the perfect coach for him lol

Skill wise yea he can hang with 154 but he won’t hurt them
Also I think the Ennis cake is letting the critics get to them Boozy was telling Boots he don’t care about the body he want him to head hunt

I wish the fight took place in Germany where it was initially rumored. This is cos I believe BOOTS is affected by fighting in front of his home crowd. I wanted to see him before a neutral crowd. BOOTS has abandoned his defensive lessons in the last two fights at home, showing too much eagerness to get a knockout at all cost. It’s a flaw in his game he had better correct!
