@@OlympicFoil I think there are some inconsistencies there, at least the last time I checked. For example : it shows that Decsi (men's sabre) will compete at individual comp for Hungary instead of Gemesi. The same thing happened to Egypt's Essam and Hassan for men's foil (The wiki says Essam will compete at individual comp instead of Hassan). FIE videos, however, suggest otherwise (Gemesi and Hassan will compete at individual comp instead of Decsi and Essam)
@@christianalbertjahns2577 ? The wiki says that Abouelkassem, Hamza and Hassan will do the individual for foil, (and it lists Gemesi in the sabre) I don't see any inconsistencies. Edit: Wait you're right about the sabre, it doesn't match the fie sabre video. The foil still looks ok tho
@@OlympicFoil not Cheremisinov? I am surprised. Big move from Russ.. I mean Russian Olympic Committee (?, Is that what NOC code ROC stands for?) I reluctant to call Russian independent team as ROC because I acknowledge Taiwan/ROC/Republic of China's sovereignity as a country
Oh maaan don't ask me I have no idea 😂 Anyone in the top 8! Plus good feeling about Lee and Shikine. If Cheung pulls off an upset in his first DE I can see him riding to a medal too (would DIE of excitement if Kleibrink won but that is a longer shot) And wbu? 😄 would you be excited to see a lower ranked fencer pop off on the day or you want more of a classic final like foconi vs meinhardt?
Well statistically speaking, Foconi and Meinhardt are among the favorites but you know that fencers compete with their weapon and feet, not statistics. Anything can happen and had happened in the past. I believe no one expected that Zherebchenko won the 2017 World Championships and that was what happened
@@garchompdude Mark Evgenev commented on a previous video that Safin and Cheremisinov had to fence off for the reserve slot and the others were selected off results, i have no info on that myself tho
@@OlympicFoil does the USFA release the calculation? Seems like Race got quite good results, especially two or three previous comps Well not that I'm complaining. I an curious with Nick's performance and my USA faves Alex and Gerek is in.
@@christianalbertjahns2577 I think on their website somewhere the actual method is explained. Might be 50/50 between US results and international results. Race did amaznigly well in international competitions as you can see from him being ranked 4th internationally. His US competition results weren't as good tho, so he underperformed the others there enough to slip into the reserve place on the team

Great. Now we just wait someone covered the epee part
Classic Epee - always the slowest weapon!
@@OlympicFoil lul that's a good one
@@OlympicFoil bruh, yes is the slowest weapon but is very very fast
Look at 5:37, Mertine is from France right??? o.o
😭😭😭 I knew I would mess one of them up
2:57 go Choi 😂
Maximum flex 😝
You listed mertine as from the USA
FUCK 😱 I thought I fixed the errors
Sorry Mertine
Where is whole list for individual event?

@@OlympicFoil well they have changed the page then (though it still has some inconsistencies). Good for them
Didn’t know Mertine was from the good ol’ US of A
😅
Just came here to see if anyone else noticed :P
Is Safin reserve?!??
Safin is reserve yes

Wow Le Pechoux is the reserve?
Yep, big move there! though not as big as what the russians did that's for sure

no Safin hits actually
Safin won't be fencing in the individual competition
The whole senior Russian team got caught in that doping thing huh?
👀

only not caught ones will compete, but under the flag of olympics. no fencers caught, as im aware.
