I realized I talked & rambled alot in this video, but it was mainly due to the absence of this content and for my newer viewers. Any future mine explorations will have less talking. Side note... Strange occurrence with my thermal gun, but once I got home, I put it back on the charger and it's working again.
Just something you might be interested in. The Alabama mine explorers take the small chemlights with them, and leave a trail of them going in to help find their way back.
JP, I don't know about the rest of your viewers, but I enjoy every video you put out. I know it's difficult to film and gather content for a video, but I am one of those viewers who just enjoy going on a trip with you. Not all trips end up in an exciting adventure and that's fine too. Just getting out and seeing interesting places is enjoyable too; especially with background information. What I'm trying to say is that I don't need a video every week to watch your channel, and you don't need a "wow" video to post a video. A lot of us watch you because of you. You're adventuring and knowledge/ background info you give about a portion of Americana and a landscape that is riddled with mines, railroads, and history that much of the world will never see or comprehend is amazing. I live in Indiana and I have to travel hours to even begin to explore what you have in your back yard. Keep posting and I'll keep watching. Wish I was with you every step of the way.
I can't help but imagine the hard work these men went through to dig there way in there and then deal with moving coal and rock. I don't remember if you said when this mine was dug. When you turned the light off and showed how dark it is, I remember being in the Cave of the Winds in the early 80's and they did that when we were down there. If I remember correctly, it was said if you stayed in that kind of darkness, you would be blind in 30 days when you come out.
Your mine videos were how I found your channel, I’m glad to see that you’ll be doing more in the future. I love the abandoned places and the google earth place searches too
I enjoy your videos, they are so interesting!! I love watching you do things I know I will neve do!! 😮 My chest got heavy in some parts and my claustrophobia kicked in a bit!! You are brave! Thank you for sharing! Stay safe!!💙
I have been super fascinated with your cave adventures I also know it is very dangerous for you. I enjoyed this video and I am glad you stayed safe. It seems to be a lot of coal left behind strange not to mine it.
Finally you’re back in the mines . Congratulations along time coming. Enjoying this video . Don’t let those other others in the comments discourage you . Saying negative stuff . Hell i
Absolutely fascinating! Thank you for the explanations! I’ve watched other cave and mine explorers who never go into such detail, leaving me with many questions. It’s nice to get answers. But please stay safe!
JP, once again you've taken me on a trip down memory lane from my 26 years in the coal business. Thanks! BTW, as I watch this there is Santa Claus coal from Mahonoy City, PA burning in my coal stove. What a warm wonderful heat it throws.
Your new camera did great and your camera work was awesome. Not the easiest thing to do in these conditions. I've missed these cave/mine explores. They are always so interesting. Glad you got your thermal gun working again. Perhaps the battery is starting to wear out and isn't holding a charge as long anymore? Thanks for taking us along on this underground adventure.
Jason, glad to see you back in a mine!!! I never thought I'd ever see you back in a one again as well... Please be careful, and get that 02 monitor. You Lili and Jill have a Merry 🎅 Christmas🎄too! ❤ 🤗 I might go back and watch some old JP Christmas Videos, tis the season!!!
I remember back when you explored that cavern Jay, that's not made for a tall person, that's for sure lol. It was nice to see the place with a better camera this time. Thanks for sharing the adventure, my friend.
Interesting video. I spent most of the time thinking don't go in there. I was happy when you came back over the rocks and decided to go a different way. I can't imagine young boys having to work in those conditions for hours each day. Photo montage didn't disappoint. While there wasn't much beauty, the photos were stark and dramatic. Thanks for taking us along.
Terrific video J! I wondered why you hadn’t been uploading. Turns out you have. YT switched my notifications preferences from all to none. Ticks me off but I’m glad I checked.
Wow, what an amazing and really interesting exploration! A unique mine for sure. Your curious and adventurous nature brought you back and it's great that you did return to document if any changes had happened. It was cool to see the old items and artifacts and also to see the tracks that the coal carts traveled on. It sure is something to think about and kind of hard to believe that people actually worked down there, and for them it was just routine and very hard work, but for us right now it is really fascinating to learn and see it all. Those roots are just incredible, at first glance I thought they were stalactites. lol I have to say, although I know you are safe now, I was a little on edge watching you when you were climbing back into that right hand first part of the fork and thank goodness for your hard hat! Glad your thermal gun is working again. Thank you for facing the dangers and some difficult conditions of this adventure, it was so awesome, and I definitely felt like I was there with you! As always, such beautiful photos and a fantastic video JP! 💙
Thanks Gayle. Some areas were a little risky, but overall very manageable. I was surprised how much I remembered from 7yrs ago, but thanks for coming along.
I give you credit, I understand the fascination but I could never do that, getting claustrophobic just watching this. Even with modern tech mining is a hard profession, it is dirty and dangerous. There are old iron mines not far from where i live in northern nj, and ppl explore them ( most of them have been closed off, and any openings like you went in sealed as well). Especially when the mine had to be shored up originally, can collapse easily.
I'm really surprised at how many commenters would never go into a coal mine. We grew up doing it in the 80s. Seems crazy now but parents were fine with us playing in the mines. Across the street from the house I grew up in was an abandoned colliery, my grandfather worked there. He died from an enlarged heart when my dad was a young teen. Besides all the mine openings there were a bunch of buildings. Another colliery was nearby that still had some of the original buildings as well. By the mid 90s all of those buildings were demolished. It was kinda sad. The mine that Jay is in here I was never in unfortunately.
When it comes to places like this, there's people who are fascinated and want to go in and those who want nothing to do with it. Glad you understand the fascination.
When you got to your favorite part.. where the door was around 22:00.. how far in do you think you were? I'd be petrified of getting lost and not finding my way out.
I enjoy the explore, but I just think it was a horrible place to work . Doing my ancestry I found my great grandfather worked in a mine in Wales and then moved to Luzerne pa and worked in a mine there . I think it takes a special kind of person to do that work .
It was. Funny part is miners are a weird breed, as a bunch they are very proud of what they do. Think about what it was like before safety standards and the like.
At only 5' 4" I guess I'd be perfect for cave exploration. Unfortunately I would not want to join you. Those wooden supports don't look trustworthy haha.
Awesome adventure JP! I love mine and cave explorations! The mystery of all underground things is always so intriguing! Thanks for bringing us along for the adventure!👍
Im sorry, but I have to say, it's irresponsible of you to have come here alone. You've set a bad example. I know you poinnt out that you can't do certain things alone, but you're there, and alone, and there are serious risks. Why would you do that? You need a buddy with you and an outside monitor with first aid training and equipment. I enjoyed this, but please never do it again. Not only that but "Something happened" in your title is clickbait. It's beneath you and a lie.
You know maybe your right but I seen him go down in some REALLY sketchy mines . This one is a walk in the park for ole JP . Another thing JP videos don’t do click bait and I’ve seen ALOT of his videos . He is a professional . So Chill.
I realized I talked & rambled alot in this video, but it was mainly due to the absence of this content and for my newer viewers. Any future mine explorations will have less talking.
Side note...
Strange occurrence with my thermal gun, but once I got home, I put it back on the charger and it's working again.
Nah, not too much talking. Your viewers show up for you and what you find interesting.
I like it either way. That's always neat to see the old mines. Have a good weekend.
Thanks for the positive words and recommending my channel. Keep exploring and filming what makes you happy! Stay safe.

glad you made it out safely. more mine and cave videos please.
Another great adventure 👍
Thank you again JPVideos

Another great advantage and i remember when you were there the first time. Thank you again JP
Love these types of exploration

I felt like I over did the explaining, but glad it was helpful.
Love the video JP, really cool 😎 👍👍👍👍👍
Great to see you back underground! Awesome video and quite informational.
Thank you!
Awesome explore ! Don't know how you do it ..Thanks for taking us back ..👍💙
It's that adventurous spirit combined with curiosity. Was a good workout, but was fun 💙.
OG JP IS BACK!!!!

I've missed them as well.
I do love a good exploration, thanks Jay.
Central California watching
I didn't know you did mine explores! Now that i know you have a playlist i will have yo check it out!
Jason, glad to see you back in a mine!!! I never thought I'd ever see you back in a one again as well... Please be careful, and get that 02 monitor. You Lili and Jill have a Merry 🎅 Christmas🎄too! ❤ 🤗

Already have one ordered. Thanks for checking out something from my older days.
Interesting! I cannot imagine working in a place like that.

Cant wait for this! I didnt think i would see you doing this again JP. Greetings from UK, ❤
Hi jp that was very cool to see old mine thank you ❤

Gotta love when YT does that. There's plenty to watch that you may have missed.
Boy do I miss crawling around undergound. Thanks for the hard work, great content and the history lessons.
My pleasure

Ur brave I would never go in there . Especially alone Yikes!!
Done anymore investigating into the kenny whereabouts?

Thanks for atleast taking the time to watch
No roof bolts must have been real good top
I agree
Mine videos are cool. You should have a co detection device with you in mines to keep you from getting into bad air.
I will definitely have a multi gas meter for the next one.

enjoyed it but no way in heck would i be down there..lol
😁
This video was hard to watch. 🤔I knew nothing devastating happened cause you survived & posted it 😳
Claustrophobia lol nope nope nope...wait is that a bat? lol , still enjoyed the video netherless :)
you need a rc car and camera for some of those shoots
Maybe a tank would do better 🤔
The darkest of dark
Do you know the name of the seam?
I guess there isn't anything you won't do. Stay safe!
Wonder what the life expectancy of a miner was in the day. Hard life.
Black lung was an early taker of miners lives among many other dangers.
It dose get hot underground when there's no air flow
Hope you got a 4 gas detection with you
When you got to your favorite part.. where the door was around 22:00.. how far in do you think you were? I'd be petrified of getting lost and not finding my way out.
From the entrance? Maybe 100 yards at most. It seems much further since it's very slow moving.
@@JPVideos81 Yes it did seem much further. Worlds away from the outside! 300 feet isn't far at all!
I enjoy the explore, but I just think it was a horrible place to work . Doing my ancestry I found my great grandfather worked in a mine in Wales and then moved to Luzerne pa and worked in a mine there . I think it takes a special kind of person to do that work .

Paranormal activity drained your battery
Don,t crawl around to much without a friend.Becareful.

Haha
Awesome adventure JP! I love mine and cave explorations! The mystery of all underground things is always so intriguing! Thanks for bringing us along for the adventure!👍
It was my pleasure!
The minors had a tough job.Wow!
Claustrophobia warning. No thanks, catch you on the next one.
Yeah, I'll pass. This is why I watch UA-cam. I aint going down there, but I can still see it. 😂😂😂😂
🤣

Something did happen... my thermal gun died on me in the mine. I don't do clickbait.

Nope couldnt do it.
I swear I am not claustrophobic but no thanks
