If Jesus and the apostles didn't teach the Gentiles tithing, then why are we paying or giving tithes against -- a) the Jerusalem Council of Acts 15:28-29? b) Paul's exhortation in Philippians 4:9? c) Jesus' teaching in Mark 2:22? Don't "pay", but "give" tithes is a crafty play on words!

The lengths to which Nigerian men of God are going just to twist scriptures to support their stance on tithing, rather than teaching free will and cheerful giving, says a lot about the grip of mammon on them. Mammon will ultimately be their undoing. It’s not surprising to see most of the older generation holding onto their views on tithing. What’s truly concerning is that the younger pastors, who should know better through progressive revelation, are following the same path. This is really a cause for concern and disruptive to what God wants to do with his people in these last days.
Tithing is a thing of the mind, it is worships on its own, sowing seed is a thing of the mind, and every form of giving is a thing of the mind... You can't worship or serve GOD with your brain, it is something that should be done with an open mind. Imagine what Solomon did & how it moved GOD to show up & speak to the hearing of the whole people. I don't worship in ways that suit everyone but in ways that are okay with my inner self. Even as humans, there are things people will do & we just let them into our restricted space.

Sir i understand you. but at the end you made mention that the revelations the fathers recieved and what they thought(their teachings) was for their generation and ours is for our own generation. But God is thesame yesterday today and forever so why would God give contrary teachings and revelations to them and to us. Please someone should clarify my doubt
Revelation is progressive, and you can't know all of God in one generation , because there is no searching of his understand Isaiah 40:28. So the Holy Spirit reveals to the saints his dealings, per time, per season. i trust this will a help a long way.
You can give any percent you wish in your heart but let it be done cheerfully, lovingly and in the spirit, so the last part of matt 23 vs 23 is in line with any percent. It's not compulsory it must be 10 percent, the early apostles of Jesus Christ did not pay tithe
I want to ask a question. Is it right for a pastor to call you and demand tithe because its month end? If someone gifts you a shirt, do you have to pay tithe on that shirt?

The breaks in between are cut out which I believe is to keep the message short. However, it causes information overload because there’s no time to let message sink in, but rather trying to catch up with the speed of the message. Personally, I’m happy to watch the full message no matter long it is. I’d like to take it in the way it delivered by Holy Spirit. I like to go with the flow of the Spirit and not just the words.

There is no example in the entire new testament that Jesus,the apostles or any Christian ever tithed or even taught tithing. New testament believers follow the apostles doctrine as demonstrated in acts2v42-47 and Acts4v32-37. Tithing is entirely an old testament practice.
Tithing was a practice in the old testament and only done by Jewish farmers as it was entirely farm produce. Under the new testament we are all Royal Priests and we support each other by practicing the apostles doctrine as demonstrated in acts2v42-47 and Acts4v32-37. Well, Paul and the other Apostles across their Epistles did spoke about giving and and how what the Old Testament tithe used to handle, can be handled today: The first church in Acts demonstrated how the less-privileged are being catered for by the well-to-do in the church; Paul and every of the Apostles have one job or the other that they do that fetches them money - so that they don't rely on members for their upkeep; the mode of giving is now freewill offering for the furtherance of the Gospel. However, when the gift of God upon the life of an MOG has blessed the members so much, they will, out of their own will bless the ministry/MOG with their substance - worth more than any 10% of the whole Church. Thats why you see big MOGs with all the good things in life - tithe didn't bring those stuffs.
Jesus never collected it, the Apostles didn't either. It was not recorded in the first church that they give/pay tithe - even as tithing was a Jewish custom. If I am to go by this teaching, there's nothing 10% giving can achieve that Offering cannot also attain. Maybe we should give it a different name, and stop calling it by that name "tithe". In Math.23:23 Jesus was rebuking Teachers of the Law and Pharisees who were still subject to the Law, born again believers like you.
