Aw, Margareta, thank you! Rosie is my love as well. 💖 Your little Silver sounds adorable (I love that color!) Thank you so much for watching and for your kindness to our sweet old girl. ❤️ 🙏
My female standard Poodle is 2 and my male is 1. I groom them once a week religiously and put them in cuts that range from Miami to Continentals. And I always think about 'what happens when they're old and their joints are achy?' I'm happy you posted a video on this.
I just found your channel and I am in love with Rosie! She’s the sweetest goodest girl ❤ I have a 9 year old standard poodly doodle (she’s pretty curly!) named Magnolia. She had knee surgery 2 years ago after blowing out her right knee and has just blown her left 😭😭. She also has bad arthritis and doesn’t move around great anyway. We are preparing for surgery in a few weeks and I have decided to groom her myself so that we can take all the breaks she needs. I’ve purchased a Wahl KM10 clipper, a flying pig dryer, a 30 and a 5f blade, a set of stainless steel guard combs. I already have a slicker brush and a metal comb. What size grooming table do you think I should get? I want her to be able to lay down if she needs to. She’s 65lbs and about 26 inches from her butt to her chest and 22.5 inches tall. Thank you for any suggs you can offer!
Hi Cathline, thank you so much for appreciating my Rosie baby! Aw, sorry that your Magnolia is going thru so much, but the good news is that you sound prepared! Kudos to jumping and working with your older baby yourself (it's usually so much better.) OK, for the table, if space is an issue, I can assure you that my 24×36 table is what I use for housecalls and groom Poodles the same size as Magnolia on it with no problems (they can lie down and turn around comfortably.). But if you have the space, the 48in table is actually less expensive in the brand that I use, funny enough! amzn.to/3yc8uhq. Hope that helps and good luck with everything!
Hello again Gina, I’m going to try and make this as short as possible. I have a senior little shih tzu around 13 or 14 and he has some seeing issues and has lost almost all his hearing which has caused his bath time to be difficult he also has some bad anxiety issues as well. I have changed it up and instead of doing his whole spa day in one day I take several days to complete which has helped a lot but I’m having another issue years ago I have been diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis and it is really hard for me to comb and keep his knots out of his fur I do shave him in the summer but I can’t in the winter he seemed to have some trouble regulating his body temperature since he has gotten older not sure on that going to ask vet next visit. Anyway just alittle back ground to help with question I have. My question is are there something that would be simple and easy to help with the knots. I was thinking of trying groom aid spray but do you have something you recommend would really greatly appreciate it. 😁👍
Hi, thank you so much for explaining your situation! I groom a lot of extra special pups that I don't film for the channel bcuz they are too fragile, so I get it! And yes, you can brush with sprays and dematting rakes and mat breakers, but to be honest, for my old long-coated babies, I clipper out mats to make it as fast and simple as poss. It sounds like u have a clipper, but I found this little guy that seems very quiet: amzn.to/3smQFK1. I know not the most pretty option, but there's a point where it has to be humanity over all else, as I'm sure you know! And if u are set on brushing through them, let me know and I'll give you the list of what I use. Hope that helps! 😊
@@GinasGrooming hi there, that looks like a cute little shaver but I have one already and I’m really trying to figure out what I need at home to help with his knots I normally cut them out but I’m trying to find a easy fast way to try and prevent him from getting them since I cannot comb him anymore as much as I use to. I use a good shampoo and then with a good spray conditioner afterwards then blow dry. Please any advice would be appreciated. Thanks so much love your channel….😁👍 I’m learning.
Hi, thanks for clarifying! A brushing spray can help buy you a little time in between brushing, but there really is no substitute for the good ol' brush and comb to keep each of those strands separated and mat-free (unless the coat is short, of course.) I know it must be tough with RA, so perhaps using a spray to cut down the frequency of brushing + clipping out matting close to the skin + introducing a brush with a more comfortable handle may be a good middle ground. I wish I could share a trick (I would be using it, trust me), but the trick really is regular brushing, as often as possible. Here's the brushing aid spray that I use: amzn.to/3OfKdwb, and here are some brushes I found that have ergonomic handles: amzn.to/3NUsry5 amzn.to/3S7M5cw. Hope this helps! 🙏😊
Rosie is so beautiful. I love poodles, I have a gray mini poodle. He is my love ❤❤
