Did she move from New York to California? If she didn't I wouldn't call her a caretaker just an occasional visitor.

A person WITHOUT dementias who MUST BEINA FACILITY, might feel like a person who cares for a dementia patient! Person in facility has fewer & fewer visitors, less & less conversation with those who do visit, less & less 'news from/about home &community. The 'resident' (some feel more like Inmates) is more & more isolated. It's particularly difficult for the person who was NOT able to decide him/herself to enter a facility! The more isolated the resident is, the MORE likely the resident develops genuine depression AND dementia symptoms . I KNOW! I'm in a facility simply b/c I can't walk! YES! We HAVE followed Every lead, every suggestion. the deal IS if an agency aid CAN'T or DOESN'T get to me-b/c of weather, accident, illness my ONLY option is ambulance to hospital ER , 40 miles away
