What does it mean to be Hanafi?
0:12 How to know if deen is correct? Creates happiness & makes this life easy for you
0:43 Wrong deen adds complication to life & increases your dislike and detestation of others
1:18 Wrong deen is in advantage of those who created it rather than for advantage of society
2:00 Always keep markers of success and of true deen in mind when learning
2:25 Deen from the heavens is deen of Ahlil sunnah
    2:37 Recitation from Surat Fussilat 41:30 - 36
9:17 Shaykh Salah: joy in seeing enlightened and sincere seeking understanding of religion
10:50 Shaykh Salah: joining of students and old friends together
14:33 Confusion arose when western philosophy interfered by stating the only identity Muslims had was being Muslim
16:00 Deen satisfies 3 needs of human being: heart, limbs and mind
18:20 To maintain Aqeedah, we must connect to schools of Aqeedah
18:55 Hanafis typically ascribe themselves to school of Maturidia (Imam Maturidi organized belief of Rasul & Sahabah)
19:44 Sha’a’fi & others organize themselves to Asharia almost identical to Maturdia
20:40 Their books emphasize that Allah swt is transcendently beyond any comparison to His creation
21:50 Sunni beliefs can be learned in a session or 2 because they are beautiful clear points about transcendent lord
23:21 Tasawwuf covers approx 80% of what one needs
25:40 Key to happiness is increasing worship of Allah swt (dhikr or fasting, quran, etc.)
27:55 Sunnis have 4 clear schools of fiqh
28:40 Where Hanafis and Shaafis differ, how will you know which one to choose if you have not chosen a school?
30:36 Only takes 2-3 hours in total to learn about wudu/salah & can practice it for a lifetime with comfort & ease
32:50 One who has not learned fiqh properly is always in confusion
34:39 Assumption of purity exists in fiqh if there is no obvious sign of impurity
36:17 Must have madhab as ensures clarity in practice, understanding and answering questions
38:58 Scholars can confirm information from a madhab as it is composed of clearcut guidelines
41:53 Hanafi school existed before Abu Hanifa
43:45 Ibn Masud is Imam of Hanafi school (5th to become Muslim)
44:13 Rasul said to take the Quran from 4 and this included Ibn Masud
45:09 All scholars of Kufa (in present-day Iraq) were Ibn Masud’s students
46:42 In age of companions, a good majority were in Kufa
47:30 92% of positions of Ibn Masud were taken by Hanafi school
47:55 Includes Hanafi practices (not saying Ameen or Basmalah out loud, only raising hands in beginning of prayer)
50:50 Misguided groups convey Quran & Sunnah with personal understandings
51:40 Ahlil sunnah differentiated bc transmits Quran & Sunnah along with understanding of companions of implementation
1:05:31 Incumbent upon us to know the rulings of the moment
1:07:03 For success in life & next life: do not go full week without attending a circle of knowledge
1:08:52 Calamity of Muslims: have lost out on how to practice knowledge
1:09:30 If we teach kids dhikr, tasbih, Quran, they will not leave you when older
1:10:00 Dhikr of Allah swt takes you out of sin (& strengthens faith)
1:12:36 All schools are correct but Hanafi especially loved (school of companions)
1:12:49 Hanafi is madhab of earliest imams - 50-60 years between him and Rasul
1:13:00 Hanafi: Madhab of great empires and dynasties of Islam & Madhab of majority of Muslims historically and even today (70-80%)
1:13:22 Every Muslim can apply Hanafi madhab very easily
1:13:41 This madhab has been given an acceptance that no other has been given (even been called madhab of Islam)
1:17:11 Normal for someone to be more affected by something told as a hadith
1:21:00 An extremism in following a school is treating something probabilistic as though it is certain
1:25:30 Tamazhub is taking a school and following it (duty); opposing everyone who does not follow what you follow is extremism
1:27:11 Sunnah is understanding of hadith
1:29:57 Many who call themselves Hanbali are anthropomorphists
1:33:03 Follows that having beard is sunnah and amount is customary
1:43:44 Amman, Jordan is a place where people go to seek knowledge (lands of revelation, prophets, great blessings)

It's so unfortunate that lectures like these are spread far and wide, too many of the youth are brainwashed by the pseudo salafi dawah

True, used to be a salafi myself. Currently thinking of choosing between either hanafiyyah or shafi'iyyah

This lecture is very enlightening. One of the gems is what the Sheikh said about what a person gets and feels if he gets his religion well...and also the opposite of it.
This type of sensible discourse needs to be seen and spread instead of narrow minded "I only am right" attitude.
