@thewomaninthemoon If that was the case Meryl would have won those awards. I thought Sandra Bullock performance in The Blind Side was outstanding.

Sandra Bullock is not a special actor. Not even that good. There are many that beat her hands down. The thing with her is that people just like her. She has managed not to be annoying. She’s known for being nice not to the point of being phony, nor has she played against it. She is wholesome and seems authentic. Personable. Also, as big as she has been at times, she has never been so huge as to become passe. In her film choices, she has never stayed still long enough to become boring, nor has she ever been interesting enough to exhaust people. She likes what she is doing and must be mentally healthy, because it’s really hard to be that popular and successful and not end up with hangups that somehow seep though as we get older.

I'm glad she can admit that Meryl Streep should have won cause seriously The Blind Side was a nice movie but very overrated and her performance was good but it wasn't a very challenging part to play and compared to Streep's Julia Child,Sandra's performance was nothing special.

thewomaninthemoon Agreed completely! It's interesting the Academy had kept "snubbing" Meryl for 30 years, like trusting she'd outdo herself with The Iron Lady when all of her roles in between (Julie and Julia, Doubt, The Bridges of Madison County...) are acting masterpieces.
