    About Us!
If you had told me a year ago that we were going to sell all of our stuff to start backpacking the world, I would have called you a liar. Decisions like the one we made start with an inflection point. A point where you realize that life can never be the same anymore. After a challenging, and painful year in 2017, we decided we needed to go out and live the life we wanted to live, instead of watching it on someone else’s UA-cam Channel. We had given everything we had, physically and emotionally, for other’s dreams and were ready to work that hard for ourselves. From rock bottom, Chase for Adventure was born.
    The Chase Begins
We moved in with our parents, sold everything we own including our cars, and paid off $70,000 worth of debt. We worked 70hrs/week over the last year trying to save up $15,000 to make our dreams come true. Now, we are travel journalists who showcase the beauty in different cultures and inspire others to chase their dreams through our UA-cam Channel and website Chase for Adventure. We want to show others that if they want something bad enough, they’ll figure out how to get it; show people who are struggling that they can make the light at the end of their tunnel. Chase for Adventure is more than just a travel vlog and blog; it’s the chronicles of what it’s like to have a dream and do whatever it takes to attain it.

Hi guys! that Besar u've been eating in the video is called Apam Balik. Besar means big which most probably refers to the size because they usually come in 2 sizes Besar (Big) and Kecil (Small and this one is usually crispy) :) Welcome to Malaysia btw and hope you guys enjoyed your visit!

Nasi lemak is usually wrapped in banana leaves, they cook the rice in coconut milk, a little salt and pandan leaves....some of them put ginger, fenugreek even lemongrass to flavour the rice, but i prefer the coconut pandan rice.... serve with a sambal chilli, onions, some shrimp paste no tomato in it but nowadays they tend to put tomato ketchup which i is not to my taste and proteins such as chicken, paru/lampong (cow's lung), dried squid, canned squid, cockles and most common dried anchovies.... boiled or fried eggs... cucumbers, fried anchovies and fried peanuts.... i think the one you had is not the best....

    • @ChaseforAdventure

Yea, we aren't huge fans of anchovies or fishy tastes, so it was hard for us to enjoy it. Lol. The rest of Malay food is delicious, though!

mee hoon/bee hoon is rice noodles/vermicelli ...usually stir fried in chilli paste, onions and maybe some soy sauce with proteins such as prawn and chicken also beef .... maybe yours are sour cause they put tamarind juice or maybe they squeeze a lime....usually they put the lime on the side and let you decide if you want it sour or not

Great question! So when we came, we assumed that island people wouldn’t care. For example, in the south of Thailand where all the islands are, there is a huge Muslim population but no one cares. We thought it would be the same for Malaysia but we were so wrong 😂 😭 People even denied serving us food multiple times before we realized it was how we were dressing. We do want to make sure we respect the cultures we visit so as soon as we realized this, we immediately redid all of our outfits to make sure we were covered up. ☺️💙

Yes! The langkawi night market was by far our favorite! We went all over Malaysia and went to markets in every place we went but nothing compared to the island market ☺️

I know friend! We started keeping our own bags a few months ago so that we can reuse them and not just throw away a bunch of plastic.
Fun fact, over the last few months some of SE Asia has been pushing for recycling and getting locals involved! It’s been amazing to see. I do have a question for you, do you know a good place to get reusable chopsticks online? I’ve tried finding them in person but there are only ever the disposable ones 🥺
