Hi Jesse - You don't need waterproof housing with the COOLPIX W300. You can shoot images underwater up to a depth of 30 m (100 ft.) and for 60 minutes.
@@kimvandermolen5407 It requires you to calibrate the white balance before descending. I had one for ages using it incorrectly until a nice spanish girl on a boat in ko tao took it off me and showed me. I was embarrassed.
And just to be clear i'm recommending you use Preset Manual option under White Balance where you have to take a reference photo of something grey/white...and do this just before you dive as its a variable that'll change at different locations or times of day.
@@ozzyguy6792 lol i know it was 3 years ago you guys discussed this but it actually has a white balance calibration option which works amazing. Just need to calibrate it with something white (like a t shirt or painted white boat decking) before you go in.
Should I buy an underwater housing for this camera? Thank you.

Well, I guess the film quality of this Nikon a incredible. It’s better than the fujifilm finepix XP140.
can you clarify the depth where this video was taken?
If I had to guess based on the color and that the camera is only rated to 100ft I would say around 60-80ft.
Did you use a light ?
this video does this product a disfavour
No i have this camera, its really a bad product
