Ross is one of the best players I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen them all. His teaching videos are great.

I’m about 30% through the course and I can attest that it is excellent material. Idk how Ross put this out for free, I honestly feel guilty and still want to contribute somehow. Thank you, Ross!

    1. Don't become complacent. Keep working on new, more difficult material. 2. Transcribe music from your influences. 3. Practice more than improvising. Compose an outline of your solos. ---- 1. MASTER the two-step sales pitch!--- Rock on, Ross!

    Hi Ross,
Hey Geetarists "Melodic Triads" is a fabulous course. I fit into that intermediate category whose solos consisted of aimless, non-musical 'noodling over scales (with lots of bum notes, ouch!)
All my fav guitarists say they use triads (ie: Robben Ford) As such, I needed to get off my a** and step outside my comfort zone and finally learn them . Sooo glad I did, because my soloing has already improved a lot in a very short time. Triads are beginning to radically change my attitude and approach - it's like creative composing, rather than aimlessly running scales. Guitar is fun and exciting again.
As Ross points out - "fretboard awareness" and playing with intention is the basic fundamental to advancing on the guitar. In other words - improvement is only possible by always knowing where you are on the fretboard. Triads get that awareness under your fingers and into your ears. They provide a very simple framework that prevent you from getting lost or hitting bad notes. Plus, it's beautiful being able to see how the scale of the diatonic key your playing in surrounds and connects the triads.
Ross's Melodic Triads course is very thorough, yet easy to follow. He provide ample videos and text files with 100's of diagrams covering every topic, with just enough theory to get up and running. The A-B chord progression examples are beautiful to play over.
Get this course people - it's free, for now anyway
Thanks so much for Melodic Triads Ross. I can see how triads are going have a huge impact on my musicality. I've spent a lot of time and money searching for a good course on triads - yours is hands-down the best!
I saw the vid of your Whysky Jam gig Ross - you were kickn' it! Hope all's going great for you in 'Music City' - all the best!

This guy is a really positive and wise teacher.I thought majors and triads were conventional and square but around the fretboard they sound fantastic. Thanks Ross for your balancing pentatonic with triads .I sound rocky and like KeithLevene so I'm grateful for your game changing advice.

I was lucky enough to be taught in person a couple of years ago by Ross (as part of a group through Guitar Breaks). I can't speak highly enough of how valuable that was and have been signed up to Bullet Proof Guitar Player ever since. His lessons are some of the very best around and I still refer to the notes and videos taken during that Guitar Breaks course.

This is exactly where I’ve always been. Comfortable in my guitar playing. At a beach party in Hawaii or even at a bar in Honolulu, that’s just fine. Ross Campbell however, is one of the finest guitarists and teachers I’ve ever seen. A young Scot now living in America. At 61 years old now after playing guitar all over the country, I’d just rather watch Ross do his thing. His improvisational leads are something from outer space. He’s better than the late Eddie Van Halen. That’s an observation and true, though I miss Eddie.
I could copy Van Halen songs fairly easily, but I couldn’t copy Ross Campbell because he’s just a phenomenal guitarist and all over the place. Thanks for showing what’s possible because for most of us humans, what you do is impossible. It’s yours. We ain’t copying you my friend. 🍀🇮🇪🇺🇸

Hi Ross im an intermediate guitarist.........i recently got the free course you talk about in this tutorial and thanks very much its very detailed and informed............my question is how long should i practice the content in this course? I mean the triads........before moving on?

Hey! I don't believe I or any other teacher can give you useful advice on how long you should spend practicing something without teaching you in person. Do it until it is second nature

Actually this is such an important, fundamental (and also hard) thing, that you'll never gonna say "ok I practiced this enough now".
Practically you're gonna practice these for the rest of your life. 😊

Hi Ross, like your articulate reason based lessons. Question: in your fav guitarists list , curious why you didn't list Hendrix? ( Im sure a common question, and i will admit probably keeps me stuck in pentatonic box) Thanks

Good day, friend Ross. I’m delighted with your teaching method. so much so, that I am subscribed and I am illustrandome with 5 LICKS TRIAD TO TRANSFORM YOUR SOLOS
MINI-COURSE FREE.only that I encounter an obstacle, and is that they have no subtitle in Spanish. Do you think it’s possible to put subtitling in Spanish, or upload them to You Tube?

I've learned my scale and now I'm learning triads and where the notes are on the fretboard. However, after watching all of UA-cam I can't play or improvise anything. Any advice? Because everything is starting to get confusing ;/

    • @RossCampbellGuitarist
      @RossCampbellGuitarist  2 місяці тому +1

Yes! Get yourself onto a learning path outside of the UA-cam guitar lesson rabbit hole. UA-cam is great and I obviously put my own lessons up here but it does lack the structured, step-by-step learning process that you get when you enrol in a good guitar course. Check the link in the pinned comment/video description to take my free course if you like. I think it will be perfect for you based on the issue you described in your comment

I have been working through Melodic Soloing with Triads and it’s really an eye opener. When I get a bit further with this I will paste a comment. This video has a lot of gems too, it’s no wonder you’re such a brilliant guitarist. Your blues are very emotional compared to others who really sound like jazz soloists not blues players, 👍

If my sketch jellyfish plans materialise for next year, I'll go back home via visits to friends in the US. I'll swing by and catch up with Tommy, if he's around, and hopefully pop in and see you. (hopefully the Orange Toddler will be in jail then and I won't have my Glesga temper triggered by his Trumpanzees. 🤣🤣🤣 )
You're doing great, pal. So proud of you!
