Honestly, do not worry. I am not one to talk about mascaras either unopened or opened. I have a ton of unopened and I have even more that are opened. In my defense, I try them out to see if they work and then swear I won’t test anymore but then I have to test more. it’s all encompassing! And I just tried the urban decay and it’s glorious too so there’s not even one that I can discard because it’s horrible. Thank you so much for your kind compliments. I, too, prefer a cute raccoon scurrying away from me on an evening walk than one under my eyes!

Wow!! That is a beautiful mascara!!! I LOVE Pat McGRATH Fetish mascara and haven’t tried the Dark Star. Have you tried the Fetish mascara? Not sure how it differs from the Dark Star. It’s wild that I will spend a lot on a mascara but I clutch my pearls over an equally expensive liner, which no doubt will last longer than the mascara😂🤦🏾♀️
Hello Tracie! I actually completely understand that. We all have items that we feel are “worth it“ and others where we are shocked and will not pay it! Ha ha. And those products are different for everybody. And then we can have mock horror that somebody spent a certain amount on a liner while we do it on a mascara. Too funny. The Pat McGrath fetish is beautiful but it dries out too darn fast for the price. I think the dark star is actually a better mascara overall but I would love to know your thoughts if you try it.
Wow! I’ve been on the hunt for a less expensive but just as good mascara from my faux cils from Chantecaille… gonna give this one a go because I like a drier mascara too- and I like the wand on this one! Thanks!

I really enjoy this mascara. I bought it a few weeks ago and I really like the formula. I have very small eyes so the wand usually makes or breaks a mascara for me. Unfortunately this wand is huge but I have been using it with a mascara fan brush. I wish companies could make 2 versions with a smaller wands….that would be great! Anyways I think it’s a fabulous mascara and I will continue to use it! Your makeup looks beautiful today ❤️
I have had this video sitting to be released for about that long. Everything has gotten backed up this month because of all the foundations ha ha. The good thing is I have continued to use it and I love it. Yes it definitely has that big fat wand for volume. Very smart to just use a different wand with it plus you can clean it in between which is always nice. I totally agree. Two different wands would be super good. I am surprised they haven’t done that yet. I know they have ones for lengthening and ones for volume but the formula is always different too and you were talking about one formula with two wands. interesting!
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty The new releases are coming in so fast it’s hard to keep up. So, I can imagine it’s hard for you as a UA-camr creator trying to keep up. I really like the YSL mascara the formula is so good! I think maybe we should start a new venture with creating separate wands for different eye shapes 🤪 We could make a ton of money 💰 🙃 I always appreciate you commenting back to your subscribers. BTW I am enjoying foundation month. I have wanted to try the Cle de peau cream foundation just so expensive. It looks beautiful 🤩

I use to have always 4 or 5 mascaras, to change depending my day (waterpoof or not, more dramatic or natural…) and ALWAYS, I have YSL máscaras, for years and years. I will try that one without any doubt. Thank you for your opinion 🙏❤️

Wow your lashes look amazing. I have really enjoyed using the Pat McGrath dark Star mascara. I used it for 6months if not longer. Even though I wanted to keep it a little longer, it dried out and was time to put it with my empties. Worth the splurge that’s for sure! Will repurchase once I’m done with my 12 other mascaras 🤦🏻♀️ lol
Oh tell me about it, Julie! I swear I have so many mascaras that are open right now. And I just purchased the new one by urban decay to try as well. So make that 20 open mascaras! If you like dark star you will also like this new YSL by the way.
That mascara looks really good... I've only used a ysl mascara once and it was very dark and inky and I loved it but they pulled it off the market pretty fast... I'm going to try this... I hope they have a mini size to try first!

I love a drier formula partly because I curl my lashes before AND after I put on mascara (what I think everyone should do!)😊 I also like to heat the Rephr curler (10 sec each side) with a blow dryer, this extra step makes all the difference for my lashes. And I think a drier formula works better with a primer. I totally agree with the sweet spot, I don't even want to get a new one because of it! I'll have to check this one out 🙂. Thanks for sharing 🤍

Hello Cindy! Oh you got a nice lucky bag! Perfectly useful, good stuff! And yes, I totally agree, once the mascara hits the sweet spot, no one wants to mess with it. And starting a new one just starts the process over again. It’s kind of like the ratio of sugar to iced tea, if you have ever tried that. Tough to get correct!

I noticed that happened with Shape Tape too. I don’t like Shape Tape, but I did notice the following. They launched at $24. Then the priced went up to $27 and today they’re charging $30 for it. Not cool. 🤪🤗🤗🤗

This mascara looks great. I prefer a drier mascara. Is it a tubing formula? I forgot about that foundation.
I think we had all forgotten about that foundation, Carolyn. It was kind of right at the end of December so I have grandfathered it into foundation month. It is not a tubing mascara. A really good new tubing mascara is by merit. I really like the darkness of it and the drama it creates while still being tubing.
I stopped buying drugstore mascara because they all seem to flake as new tubes, which is just a no-go. The real test is whether a tube will hold up a week, two weeks, a month after cracking it open without the dreaded flakes showing up. Even in 2022 they're not easy to come by. Roller Lash and Mac Gigablack are my go-to's for beautiful, builldable, seperated length but this one sounds promising for volume! Could you possibly update in the future with how well the formula held up?
Guess what? I can tell you right now! How? Well, foundation month backed me up so much that I filmed this video weeks ago when the mascara was first released and so have been using for almost three weeks! Love it. Thickened a tad but is just as lovely.

I will be buying this. I've had lash extensions since July and love them so much but I've developed an allergy to the glue. I'm so sad because I love them, but now need a good mascara and this looks like one that won't disappoint. I'm sure I'll miss my lash extensions, but hopefully a nice mascara will help.
Oh no, Michelle! You know my mother developed an allergy to her hair dye. And her stylist switched to some sort of organic thing And it didn’t help and she literally just had to deal with letting herself go silver gray. It does happen but these things kind of throw a wrench into our beauty routine. A lash lift and tint really just gives a nice look. I haven’t done that in about five years but I liked it when I did it. I definitely use a lash serum to lengthen the ones I have. I know that is not much consolation. I just wanted to be here for you! And yes this is a great mascara!

I also developed an allergy to all artificial nails due to the ingredient cyanoacrylate which is in all lash and nail glues.I kinda put up with it until the last time when my eyes were red and swolen and thought OK this is it, not a good look lol. I actually have really long lashes but they are invisible so yeah, I will try the tint and lift next, but knowing me I'll be allergic to something in that too lol. But I'll give my lashes a rest for a while to get back to normal. I feel for your mom.
@@michelleisabel oh my goodness! It’s so true. The struggle is very real. I totally get it. Try for nails the acrylic painted over your actual nail. That is what I do with zero extensions so no nail glue. Now my nails are so long that it looks like I have extensions when it is really just acrylic painted over my actual nail. If I took off that acrylic I am sure my nail is that his paper ha ha.

My birthday was on the 3rd and I knew I was going to Las Vegas with all my girlfriends so I purchased this YSL Mascara and WOW it’s hands down the best mascara I’ve ever used and I wore it for about 20 hours lol and it did not budge at all! I will say it’s a little more difficult to remove but the volume, length and curl it gives me it’s worth it! I love 💗 the Rephr eyelash curler! I need to go watch your video that you mentioned.
I love this comment! If the YSL mascara can stand the Vegas test, it can stand anything! Of course all you did was sit in the room and order room service wink wink ha ha! It is a really beautiful mascara. And so far, mine is holding up just great. I have had some reports from others that after quite a few weeks theirs dried out. I have not had the same experience but I am on the lookout for it just in case. So far I am enjoying it very very much.

I love the mascaras from this brand 😍 I've got a tip for you - I'm not sure if I will explain it well but i can try🤷♀️ try to use your finger to close your eye ( the same way you can use it for eyeliner ) when your lash line is stretched and straight with your fingers help - use the mascara just on the roots of the eyelashes ( holding the mascara really in the upper water line and pushing it a little up nothing else ) than use with light hand the mascara to curl but from above ( the first step will give you fuller lashes effect , a beautiful invisible liner and a important curl, the second will help to leave a space between your eyelashes to your eyelids) than you can use the mascara as normal ( always better to use more in the lash line and less material at the rest, sometimes i even brushing the mascara at the back of my hand after using it at the water line) you can always curl a little from up to leave the space... I hope you could understand something 😂 if you did I believe this tip will be a good one 🤍

I think, when push comes to shove, I’m choosing the Maxxx Out. They’re both lovely mascaras.
I prefer wet mascaras because I’m lazy and I find the application much faster then dry formulas

Hello Yuliana! Sometimes I use a lash primer but generally, I just get lazy and I don’t! When I use a lash primer I really like it and really see the difference and then, for some reason, perhaps I’m always in a hurry, I don’t use it the next day and feel like I am not missing anything. The duality! Ha ha.
Ok. Here comes my long review. I’m one of the women working 24 hr shifts. I started using this mascara on 1-7 and I threw it out on 1-20 because it was dried out. I really hated this mascara. It took forever to build up. Think 7-8 coats to get any kind of volume. The mascara improved on day 3 because the mascara’s formula thickened. You’re right that it’s a dryer formula. A dryer formula also dries out quickly and becomes clumpy. I need to explain my lashes so that you understand why this mascara is the worst. I have long curled completely blonde lashes. Think translucent. I looked into the mirror 2 hours later and my lashes looked so short. The lashes looked short because the mascara flaked off of the lashes about mid length. (I say flaked off but I did not find any flakes on my face )My completely blonde lashes were only covered half the length. Do you know how hard it is to apply mascara just to the end of your lashes ? It’s just really annoying. I do like dry formulas for my mascara. Pat McGrath dark star and fetish eyes are good dry mascaras. Thanks for another great review :)

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I can’t believe I’m on here right after your comment :) I really have to add that I LOVE your description of mascaras. Oh, the sweet spot , is the perfect description for mascara. If your are not completely devoted to mascara then you wouldn’t know what you’re talking about 😜. Also, the ‘dry’ description resounds with me as well. I have so many mascaras that I should be embarrassed, but I’m not. I could write a novel about how I add to my mascara during the day. I have a heated lash curler ( very cheap from Amazon. It’s meant for lash extensions.) I use the heated lash curler to sort of melt and smooth out my mascara. I then can add another whole layer. I’m sure people would think this is gross but that’s what I do. 🤷🏼♀️😜. I’m glad lashify entered my life. I generally use them for my shifts. I did, however, use this mascara for 7 shifts.
I love your lash process! And, I mean, I get it why we all have so many open mascaras and so many in a line to try. Mascara is one of those things that is just this elusive greatness and we hope to find the perfect one, one day. And then we think we do and the darn thing dries out or gets too thick or clots. I love my Victoria Beckham future lash, for instance, because it comes off so easily but the darn thing clumps up so much that I have to use it with the tissue in the other hand to wipe the clots away. Yuck! so finding the perfect one is really difficult and I think the industry knows this and that’s why they give us so many mascaras!!
Smudge proof is great but I'm pretty sick of mascara that delaminates within hours. People forget that mascara didn't used to come off at all and all mascaras were buildable. But as time marches on, quality degrades.
