Robyn, to be honest I think they were just being polite. They were around 1 year old at the peak of BS's success and reality is they've probably never listened to her. Same thing when they mention Lordi. Oh dear 😂🤣
@@DXP322 Only because they were too young to listen to her when she was at her peak doesn't mean they don't listen to her songs. :) I'm the same age as them and listen to Britney too. Good music fascinates for a long time :)
@@noideahowtopickagooduserna22 oh yeah, sure. But they haven't experienced the Britney Spears hype like we did, you know what I mean. It's just part of the catalogue to them. I can't see them listening to Oops I Did it Again and those songs from the 90's very regularly either, or being obsessed, as they sound fairly dated these days.
@@DXP322 Yeah it's true that they couldn't experience her music as part of this huge Britney phenomenon and 'being obsessed with music' is very subjective too. (I'm sure 'being obsessed' means different kind of emotions to different people.) Like I said I really enjoy Britney too and am their age. Of course I don't hear her music 24/7 and it's not all over the news and the radio but I'd still say I'm a Britney fan. :)

@@Sara-lx8jy Yes, and when he speaks it is a bit of a shock, because he has an excellent vocabulary and pronunciation in Italian and speaks like an adult among kids. Also he (not) pronounces the R in a delightful way, ha, ha!

It's nice to see how much especially Ethan has gotten more confident in these interviews in English during the time in Rotterdam. It's been only a week, but he's grown a lot! Sweet and beautiful people in this band and a goddamn great song. I really wouldn't mind seeing them winning. Best of luck from Finland!

Since you're from Finland, I wanted to say that I loved song that represented Finland so freaking much. I can't stop listening to it, it's a masterpiece. My absolute favorites were Italy and Finland. I really hoped that one of tham would win. Love form Serbia.
@@palemoonlight3580 Thank you very much! This means a lot for us that people all over Europe and elsewhere too have been so enthusiastic about our music. And the success, even if it was "only" 6th place, is a big thing for us, since this was our second best place for Finland ever in Eurovision and we've been attending since 1961. I'm happy for the guys of Blind Channel, they come from the same town in Northern Finland as I'm from, and this surely gives them a huge boost to achieve great things in their career. I did also like Hurricane from Serbia. It's not my kind of music to be honest, but they had a great energy and it was way too cool to see the girls headbanging during Blind Channel's performance :D

Their style surely is "controcorrente" meaning subversive, against the tide, unexpected... Just like them ;)
And yet they are not "controcorrente" at all. They just act it. They are rich kids who have always had it good and now are acting the cool outrageous kids. As someone else said they are playing in the part of the "anarchists in designer clothes". There is nothing genuine about them.

@@marbos_1931 Actually Marbos I suspect you to being the butthurt one. So another person cannot have a true opinion according to you? All those defending and defining Maneskin as being "controcorrente" make me laugh. If you are controcorrente you are controcorrente in everything you do and believe in, even the clothes you wear. But Maneskin are anything but controcorrente - they are just rich, spoilt kinds playing at being cool. That is why I don't like them. They aren't genuine.

I actually Stan damiano stanning Queen britney 😇 I love this band the more I see them do interviews, they’re so sweet and cool
Many times we Italians thought we had a great entry but in the end we couldn't get the top spot and the reasons were pretty glaring. Maybe our representatives didn't believe in it very much, maybe the staging wasn't taken care of or thought out for Eurovision, maybe our performances simply didn't capture more than the others. However, I think that with Maneskin everything has finally found its meaning. These guys have a crazy charisma and they bring themselves on stage every time, at every single rehearsal, as if it was the last performance of their lives. They have studied every detail of this Eurovision adventure, for the first time the Italian staging is convincing and well thought out, they have style even in dressing, a very strong image, they can express themselves in English, therefore they can have an international career after Eurovision. All the results that have left a bitter taste in our mouths in the past years will be redeemed by "Zitti e buoni". In bocca al lupo, bring Eurovision to Italy!
I can tell you that Italy was ready for years, but Juries (mostly) didn’t appreciate it. You deserve the best as you always send great acts ♥️ I’m hoping to finally see Italy hosting 🇮🇹 12 points from Germany 🇩🇪

My favorites are both Finland and Italy, but I can’t vote for Finland in semi-final (I’m from Belgium ), but I’m hopeful they’ll go to the final🤞🏼 but GF is a bit of a problem because I love both songs lol. And about everyone loving Maneskin, our Belgian Eurovision commenters said today in an interview that they don’t get the fuzz about Italy, the song is not that great, Finland has a great and real hard rock song they said 😄

italian here, actually not that knowledgeable about them but from the only fragments from an italian interview I heard I can confirm your impressions; Vic is super-genuine and the type of person one would like to meet every morning, one of the first words I heard from Damiano (the singer) was "balance" and being very thankful and appreciative about the violins/full orchestra arrangement at Sanremo, and Ethan (the drummer) used a delightfully old-fashoned way to recall (entirely by his own memory) the very early debut of a classical music artist; Thomas is super shy and usually seems to not speak much, I bet he's of the same make of the other 3. Amicable folks, "soft" friendly mannerisms. I'm following their adventure with great curiosity... I wish them well for sure

They seem to be very nice and simple persons. I love how they have praised Blind Channel in many interviews and Blind Channel - very nice and simple persons too - also have all the time praised them. They just look like a finished product, everything about them screams professionals. Our girl (Bulgarian here) was good and I liked her, but you can see she has to learn a lot to reach the level that Måneskin already have. I'm really happy for Italy, they totally deserved to win! Apart from Bulgaria I was for Italy or Switzerland.

I was just wondering how dated Oops I Did it Again may sound to someone born in the early 2000s. As it's got a very distinctive 90's sound. I think they were about 1 or 2 years old when that came out. We're SO old 😂🤣

People say they made a shocking performance. I could not disagree more on that. Nothing shocks me about them. My boss shocks me, my neighbours, my colleagues, what I see on tv. But not them. That's why I love them soooooo much. They don't schock me, they make me smile. They have an inner respect for the world and want to make people happy. They succeed so sweet and nice and there are people who dare to be shocked ! They must be out of their heads.
