Forging a bowie knife for a benefit raffle for a young lady who has been recently diagnosed with cancer. #blacksmith #forgedknife #handforgedknives #bowieknife
..ya had me going with that spike guard, i thought you were going to use the whole thing. Man what a blade that would be. Great work again Mr Woods. i'll be waitin for the next part...!
Thanks much. I like to hot fit my steel guards. Once everything else is done I can warm that guard up, tap it into place, and when it cools it will be solid as a rock.
Old CV axles make excellent tooling. That’s what my hardy cutter and power hammer hack are made from. It’s not as hard as proper high carbon but it was free and I don’t mind grinding it back to shape every now and then.

Thanks much! I could sure enjoy get enough steel from a spike to make a nice big knuckle bow guard
Awesome build
Thank you very much. It’s going to be a very nice blade when it’s finished. Hopefully it’ll bring a good price to help the young lady out.
Interesting way to make guard, never seen it before.
Thanks for showing it! Great video!

It surely will! Thanks!
