These type of surf video's are probably more interesting to watch than highly experienced surfers doing there thing.Keep posting.
Yes dude you hit it spot on! I just like to cruise. This channel is more realistic for average people to follow. Thanks for watching brudda 🤙🏼
dont agree at all
The best surfer is the one having the most fun.
100% brudda 🤙🏼
@@nateswells I grew up in the south bay in the 80s. Lots of memories at the pier. thank you.
@@chriscoralAloha still a great pier! Thanks for watching brudda 🤙🏼
i love this video! shows how surfing really is for a lot of us. this is your first video i’ve seen, i’ll definitely be checking more out
Doing it RAW for all the non-professional surfers out there! Thanks for tuning in bruddah 🤙🏼Yeww
Why are the comments on this so negative? As long as you're having fun it doesnt matter how you ride or what board you use ect. Nice video mate, jealous of those waves🤙
Appreciate the love dude! 🤙🏼 this isn’t my favorite session but not everyday is perfect
@@nateswells never is mate 😂 as long as it was fun though eh? Fuck everyone elses opinion 🙌
@@Foggysteven22 exactly! I like to document every session!
@@nateswells the video never does it justice though. Its always better in person

Love this video, this is real surfing!
Yewww 🤙🏼 cheers for watching bruddah
Great video! I enjoyed the effort. You took some beatings out there. Those waves closed out pretty quick too! Maybe a fin change in the future for more maneuverability? I dunno. Looking forward to watching more. You have a new subscriber. 😊👍
Thanks dude I appreciate the love! 🤙🏼 Thanks for checking out the channel
Awesome vid man keep uploading. Looked fun out there! I got family in Torrance. Pretty close to here! 🙌👏
Thanks for watching bruddah 🤙🏼this is the spot forsure!
Boy. There are some experts out there. It is great that you can get waves to yourself in LA. Enjoy!
Yea it’s a bit crowded at times but thanks for watching brudda 🤙🏼
I'm still a beginner to and your rocking it man!
Thanks bruddah! It’s a long journey! Thanks for watching 🤙🏼 yeww!

Thanks for watching brudda 🤙🏼 i have big plans for this channel stay tuned!
@@nateswells i will
Your drop in paddle is good, strong. Plus your stil in the green of the wave.
But your pop up needs to be quicker. You have both hands too close together too long.
Once your pop up is instinctually one quick motion, you’ll be in a better position earlier in the wave.
Your looking down at the board during your pop up. Look into the wave, in the direction you want to go. Wherever your looking, you’ll go.
Practice at home doing burpees.
Don’t let go of your board on the paddle out.
Paddle hard, Turtle roll and push out, the wave will roll through you. But you have to be strong to quickly get back upright. Hope this helps. 🤙🏼
Thanks dude that helps a lot!! Its hard to see what im doing wrong most of the time but I really appreciate the feedback! Thank you! 🤙
With such a big board work on taking the wave earlier. You were gaining too much speed and then having trouble with the bottom turn leading to the bail. Take the wave earlier and then stall a bit to see what the wave is doing. Plant your back foot to turn the board in the direction you want to go. After that you could even walk the nose or just ride it out depending on what the wave is doing. Hope this advice helps. I was making the same mistakes a couple years ago. But when I finally caught on after watching the pros in the lineup it was a real game changer… 👍
Cool video! Reminds me of North East Florida in the fall.
yea i brought out the wrong board this day.. a lot of close outs. Thanks for watching bruddah! yeww!
Keep doing your thing!
Thanks brudda! 🤙🏼
Nice conditions with not that much people out!
In Hawaii where im from it would be super crowded in the water
work on ur pop ups more
Turtle roll if u think its too steep to go over or if u think its going to break on u (only bail ur board as a last resort, its a big hazard if u bail ur board to everyone else in the water)
Look at where u want to go before popping up and when u want to turn
Also when u want to turn try stepping back on ur board a little more bc u said ur board wanted to go left when u wanted to go right so that might help
When paddling into a wave try to paddle in on a angle, not too much tho or u will get flipped over
I dont know how speed pumping works on longboards but i think its the same as on a shortboard
So just compress on decompress ur body in a hard up and down motion when ur on a steeper part of the wave is the best way i can explain it
It will feel a little weird at first but when u do it a couple time it will be easy
It will definitely help u make the section so u dont get closed out on.
Also try ur best to ride the top half of the wave, its where u will be fastest so that will also help u make turns and make sections
Everyone was a beginner at some point so dont get discouraged by the negative comments as long as ur having fun is the most important thing.
Thanks for the helpful tips! I appreciate you taking the time to write all that. I learn something new every time I go surf but, I try and change it up with my 9 ft’r and 7’6 funboard every now and then. Yeeoo! 🤙🏼
@@nateswells
yeah ofc!
Also heres some more tips
If ur wanna make ur fun board faster and more maneuverable I suggest a Twin plus trailer or like when the center fin is a little bit smaller like the futures AM1’s or the FCS2 reactors,i only really ride fcs bc it has work the best for me but i have used futures AM1’s on a 7’2 funboard when i used to ride big boards and it pivoted really fast and also had enough hold to make big carves and hold in bigger waves
@@Dylan-eh2xj im definitely thinking about getting a midlength single fin.. I like the loose feel the board has or a fish
Thanks. You might be able to make your paddle outs easier. Push nose down a bit and push yourself up. Wave goes between you and the wave. Also, are you waiting for lulls?
Appreciate the suggestions bruv 🤙🏼 thanks for watching!
niceee broda
Thanks for watching brudda 🤙🏼
Keep it up 🤙 try to avoid bailing with your board in between you and the wave thats how you get smashed in the head by your fins. Ask me how i know 😂
Hahaha thanks for the advice. Yea that fin has fucked me up a couple times. Thanks for watching bruddah 🤙🏽
what go pro do you use?
I used a gopro hero 9
just some advice mate for getting out look up this technique called eskimo roll, will help a lot 😁
I appreciate the tips! Thanks for watching brudda 🤙🏼
so the turtle roll doesn't work in this type of waves? im new on longboarding
Turtle rolling does work..but sometimes you don’t need it
Thanks for watching bruddah 🤙🏼 yeww
What type of board are you riding?
It’s a 9ft pk longboard. Thanks for watching 🤙🏼
I hate these kind of days. I’ve had this happen
Right!?! The waves look clean for a second and then they just close out.lol thanks for watching brudda 🤙🏼
I do the same but without the standing up part I just drown 😭
Lol when i first started learning.. I felt the pain that everyone does.. But keep pushing and you'll get there eventually! 🤙🏼 Yeww!
probably the wrong board for this day
Yea i probably needed a fish. Lol Thanks for watching!
It scares me how you fall in front of your board, try falling behind the board my man
Appreciate the tips brudda! Thanks for watching 🤙🏼
You are putting to much stress on that leash, my dude. Try to be more responsible of your board and stop it from going away of you, you could hit someone. A board that big is a big responsability in the water. And try to do turtle rolls or get behind your board and push it against and over the foam, it helped me a lot in medium size waves. Keep riding
I appreciate the tips, thanks for watching brudda🤙🏼
There's literally no one around him you dumbass lol
You need a board with more nose rocker I reckon
I have a 7'6 should of brought it that day
Booties ? And bruh wax to the nose and become a nose rider but 6/10
My board isn't nose-ride-able..i just nose dive. Whats a good reasonable board for noseriding?
@@nateswells try looking at Stewart’s website, or maybe a local surf shop. It doesn’t hurt to as multiple people for their opinions. Glad to see you having fun out there. That’s what it’s all about🤙🏼
@@kaiwalker8418 will do! thanks for the tips brudda! 🤙🏼
@@kaiwalker8418 and thanks for watching!
Would be a great video if he knew how to choose a good wave and then ride on it.
Yea not the best video. My other videos are way better!
@Billy hello there 👋
@Billy nice! Australia is a great place to surf!
This is Newb City.
That's why you are here bud 👍
All this struggling and heavy breathing makes me not want to take up surfing. Is it this difficult to get where you need to be, to catch waves of this size?
It definitely depends on the conditions out there typically the bigger the waves the harder you have to paddle! But it also depends on what type of surf break you’re at and the current! Yeww 🤙🏼 thanks for watching bruddah
