Non trovo un commento adeguato alla bellezza dello strumento, dell'esecuzione, della musica e della regia. Senza parole! Complimenti! Grazie per questo spicchio di bellezza pura
As usual, Maestro Mencoboni brings us joy with his artistry. I am happy to call him my friend. (And the noise while opening the lid is a masterful detail.)
Giovanni Picchi (1571 or 1572-1643) was an Italian composer, organist, lutenist, and harpsichordist of the early Baroque era. He was a late follower of the Venetian School, and was influential in the development and differentiation of instrumental forms which were just beginning to appear, such as the sonata and the ensemble canzona; in addition he was the only Venetian of his time to write dance music for harpsichord.
As always, a magnificent performance. I'm particularly interested in this one because I own a copy of a de Perticis virginal made by the late Jerome Prager of Los Angeles. Marco, I really enjoy all of your UA-cam videos, but I wish you would make some commercial recordings of solo harpsichord music. Your playing is every bit as good as anyone else's out there, and I would love to hear it in high resolution fidelity.
How beautiful! What a glorious instrment, and great performance by Mr. Menooboni. I'm interested in the provenance of the harpsichord, in part because this only second time I have run into the name "Perticis," the other time was in reference to an early 17th century virginal purchased by a private party in Italy approxmately 75 years ago.
Bravo Maestro! The music, the performer, the harpsichord, the room... a perfect mix!
