PVP community desperately needs things to bring lower defence builds up to scratch with 70 def builds. Zerks and pures have long been falling out of favor in the Meta and those are some of the most nostalgic and beloved builds in history.
Chivalry won't save us, still can't come close to competing, BH was made awful it should have been in w319 or w318 wild to keep NH alive and under 5 wildly make no overhead in singles.

I don’t see the issue. They’re not replacing the existing armor with 1 def armor, they’re just making a rare drop convert the armor into the 1 def armor if you want it, it’s basically just an update for pvpers and mid level mains to make some money

Another change they were looking at was converting old quest rewards into xp lamps, so you could do it without gaining the xp. just destroy the lamp.

Genuinely٫ i started the UIM Snowdown Bingo in 2023 only at 1300 total. During that bingo I was warmly welcomed not only into the larger community, but my team had me in raids with a yew shortbow and holy symbol, just having a blast.
I highly encourage all UIMs new and old to really give it a shot.

It boggles my mind how people say "X grind takes too long" "but it's only 20 hours" "yeah but I don't have time for that", when you're playing a game that takes 100s or 1000s of hours, and you really can't spare 20 to do something that would benefit your account? Interesting.
People deliberately vote no to pvp polls and updates that benefit pure accounts because they are upset that they've been killed by pures and people that focus on pking.. as a majority of the community is against updates that benefit pvp and pures they will never get updates.. these reddit posts prove it.. why are they mad that pures get "cool" armor that's a lower tier then max gear? A majority of accounts aren't maxed, most people are casual players, having armor and rewards in the game that have lower requirements benefits the average player.. people mad at these changes need to touch grass

This game was built on pvp. Without it it will suffer the same fate as rs3. 100 people in the wilderness, but pk videos with 300k views in a week. Those are all people who have deemed it not worth their time anymore to log in and wait for jagex to fix pvp.

The pure scene is actually huge and makes up most of the PK community or at least a huge chunk of it.. giving love to those areas are always in my opinion great especially to 1 def and I honestly don’t see anything wrong with it unless you guys with 45+ def can’t tank us then to that I say.. I am not a pker, and nor do i play osrs anymore, but if it doesn't effect YOU as a player. Why does it matter to you? Them making the game more accessible to other players who are playing with certain restrictions is fine and fun. Everyone plays in their own way, and "jagex pandering to 50 players" is a understatement. if they were doing this type of development in 2017. shit on them HARD. the game needed more content at that time, buts its runescape in 2024 there is lots of content and way more developers who are interested in other parts of the game. Let them work on all aspects of the game. its fun, and maybe when you're bored with your main and want to do a pure hcim, you'll be happy with the changes jagex made. Its a game like any other balance changes will happen. things might be broken, and things might be overpowered, but they can nerf, change, and revert if things become to heavy. THAT IS GAME DESIGN AT ITS CORE. Just let people be happy and stop being a bitchy redditer.
Why tf are we making the game more accessible to people who intentionally restrict themselves? That's the whole point. It's a self imposed RESTRICTION. But I mean what does it matter right? 1 defense builds should wear bandos, 1 attack builds can wield a scythe, let's go nuts with it. Why even make level requirements at this point if the boohoo 1 defencers and 1 hp area restricted hardcore tilemans can't do everything they want with their restriction

Restrict yourself how you want to, but don’t shit on people who want the update for their version of the game they are playing. It goes both ways. If you want the game to keep players it needs to keep evolving without power creep at every corner, so this is one of the ways they can do that.

Changing the way quests provide rewards *does* affect everyone, not just PvP accounts. Changing the way item sets are accessed affects everyone, not just PvP accounts. Adding a new loot drop to an existing piece of content affects everyone who ever does that content, not just PvP accounts.

They can't undo unlocks or quest "skips" like this though. Once it happens, that's it, forever, regardless of whether or not it's a mistake. It's why Rendi has accounts in Mory with 1 pray and shit like that - Jagex can ban them, but they can't retroactively change the unlocks, especially en masse.

Jagex should make the drop rate for the fang harder to get... Ive done 55 toa normals and got 5 fangs. its soo common that its worth 13.5mil for such a good item. that being said. i feel its cantering to the bots nowadays.

Pker here, 1 def moon armours make no sense because they already are legit 0 def, the magic armour only has crush defense literally 0 stab and slash so whats the difference lmao

The blood moon armor is literally almost on par with bandos gear… and when they say 1 def they mean the level requirement, not the stats. They’re basically saying “pures can now wear this armor for an extra cost that is lost on death” and it doesn’t affect anyone else

Chivalry prayer requirement should also be reduced 60 is way too close to piety and way too far from ultimate strength and even eagle eye and mystic might. Maybe swapping preserve and chivalry reqs could work er even lower.

@Behe - In regards to letting pures use gear that requires defence (if they have to farm uniques to combine and its not massively changing pk scene why does it matter) I think the snowflakes are the ones not willing to give anything over to the pures its not like they equipping full torva....

not a fan of the solution for perilious moon armour, dont think pures need more damage boosting armour, the biggest problem with pking is the bots/pk bots. its an infestation, and the log out script/scouting outside wildy bosses/entangle and flower scripts, ahking crap makes most people just not want to pk.
chivalry doesnt change anything, its not a meta breaking thing, making a useless thing only slightly more useful.

Chivalry is +3% strength over ultimate strength… that’s like 1-2 max hit. Doesn’t even really matter. Literally just QOL for noobs who aren’t fast enough to put on 15% attack too.
You could give zerks rigour/aug/piety and they still would be completely outclassed by the armor bonuses 70 def gets. 3% strength is nothing.
Berserker pure with chivalry and tentacle whip versus med level in full crystal/bowfa with rigour. Same combat - 98 - Med level could get up and go make a snack during the fight.
