Cyclone Kirrily upgraded to category three system

Severe Tropical Cyclone Kirrily has been upgraded to a category three system.
120 schools in North Queensland were closed today.
Flights have been cancelled, with residents racing to fill sandbags.
Landfall is expected on Thursday night between Ingham and Bowen.
Townsville is facing the threat of a direct hit from a category three tropical cyclone.
