We sing to Amba, the Mother, in general and than address our adoration for the feminine divine power also to many names which are carrying this beautiful energy, whether they be Goddesses or 'simple' human beings as Radha and Sita. Radha and Sita are e.g. both a symbol of purest feminine love quality that releases a wonderful power. Rukamini, the Golden One, was a princess and is considered the main consort of Krishna. She is also regarded as an incarnation of Lakshmi.
" Dukha Vinashini ..." and " Kala Vinashini ... " meaning, Durga and Kali are honoured in their quality as destruction of all obstacles - Vinashini. Dukha means suffering, misery, sadness, pain ... anything you do not longer want to have in your life. Dukha Vinashini therefore means that Durga helps us to free us from all sorrow.
Kala Vinashini gives us many ways for interpretation. Kala is the time and here Kali is the one to wipe out time. What does that mean for us? In connection with Durga and her clearance of grief it comes close that Kali helps us to wipe off all unpleasant times in our lives from our memories, therefore she heals our emotional wounds !
We know that it is possible to travel in time and to reconnect with the happy energy before an unpleasant event occurred. Kali is thus the key! In Bhajans it is essential to develop the quality of a complete open heart in order to connect with all these wonderful energies.
In bhajans are names that sometimes end in an 'e’ instead of the normal ‘a’: Amba - Ambe Durga - Durge , Radha - Radhe etc. This is interesting because the sound 'e' holds more the power than the 'a', which radiates love more openly.
