Sweet shooter bro!! Man after my own heart. The BCM E.LW BFH recce rifles w/ MCMR are a solid setup and priced amazingly for what your getting. Awesome bro!! 👍👍
Brotha, it's about time I see an M4 that would actually survive in a fire fight. I mean to point out the way that you equipped your rail near the gas block. I've taken several AR training classes, and it's always funny to see the guys that forgot to bring gloves. They arrive with any one of those sexy rail platforms. Even after a few bursts down range, those folks realize how hot their platform can get. Downright scalding. So, kudos to how you prepped your rail to protect your off-hand during use. It may not look pretty, but it appears extremely functional. Great build.
Hahaha you’ve got a point. Working on making it my own but didn’t want to mess with the internals too much on a home defense rifle. The next one I’ll build every part 🤝
Nice rig! I just did a build. I got a complete BCM UPPER, Radian charging handle w/ a NOX flash suppressor/Deadair key mount. Stripped Geissele lower w/ BCM parts and furniture! My best build yet!
I like the nox but doesn’t that thing look a little weird on a 14.5? I’ve refrained from pinning one to mine cause that thing is so long it looks goofy.
I have this BCM MK2 14.5” rifle as well. Great choice. It’s in my “top 3” for my favorite rifles. Just went a different rout with furniture and it’s color. OD Green looks great agains the darker BCM receivers. I put a Xeno bird cage so I can run a Sierra-5 suppressor. It’s still in Jail.

Ha, I did the same thing with a Sig Romeo 5. Mine is on a Unity 2.26 mount and the mount was quite a bit more expensive than the optic itself. That said, I've had that Romeo 5 for either 2 or 3 years(I think actually 3? I can't remember what year it was when I bought it lol) and I've changed the battery once and that was purely out of paranoia. The battery life is very good and I've used that red dot a lot and beat it up pretty good and it has never lost zero or anything. They're really a good red dot for the money. I've thought about going to a Holosun more for the reticle than anything else, or an aimpoint but in that case there really isn't much reason to do so at this point because I don't own night vision and without it theres really not going to be a noticeable difference TO ME.
Right on man! I’ve jealous of the unity mounts cuz they magnifier have the flip to center which I really like. Glad to hear your Romeo 5 is holding up. Thanks for watching
I built basically this exact same rifle set up minus a few non important differences & I have loved it. About 1000k rds through it without a single malfunction. It does heat up fast, especially with a can on the end. Great rig dude.
Nice setup! My OCD suggests an FDE buttstock as opposed to coyote brown though! Solid build and good representation. I’ve wrapped my handguard with an entire roll to get rid of the heat! Lol, haven’t taken it to the range to test how effective that is. Mine has a regular “government” profile barrel.

Is it new? I’ve never had a dust cover that was hard to close personally but maybe just clean it. Or just swap it, I know magpul offers an easy to install version
Nice build man. Regarding the optic, Holosun makes Sig's Romeo 4 and 5 series of red dots. I wouldn't bother upgrading to Holosun from Romeo unless you really want the circle dot reticle, or solar panel, or 7075 construction. If I were you I would stick with the Romeo until it breaks (probably never will) or you decide you want NV capabilities and an optic that does passive shooting a bit better, either Aimpoint T2/CompM5, Eotech, Vortex UH1 Gen 2, or Holosun AEMS. I'm not sure about the MRO HD, I haven't bothered looking into it for NV performance, but it could be just as nice as the others for all I know.
Wow, really appreciate all the info and suggestions man! I knew holosun make the Romeo 5 but honestly I just want a green dot instead of red dot haha and I didn’t like the footprint of the Romeo 5 xdr or whatever the green dot version is called. But would love to get a Aimpoint or eotech one day. What optics have you tried?
@@ginosgear AH I see, then yeah, you'll want to replace it at some point. Holosun has the most offerings in green AFAIK, Eotech has a green option, so does Trijicon with the MRO (not the HD unless they've updated since I looked into them). I've got a Holosun 503cu and Eotech EXPS2-0. A friend has the Romeo5, and Vortex UH1 Gen 2. Each do their job just fine. My buddy had to send his UH1 back since it was draining batteries but Vortex CS is great and took care of him. He sent the optic on a Monday and had it back (or a new one perhaps, idk) by Friday the same week, they paid for shipping both ways. Personally I like holographic optics better so I lean towards Eotech and the UH1, despite the wayyyy less battery life you get with those. They both just look nicer to my eyes. I also find that they are nicer under magnification too. Plenty of people feel the opposite though, I think its just dependent on ones own eyes. With that said I'm currently shooting with a PST 1-6 Gen 2 LPVO, and liking it quite a bit. I don't have NV capabilities myself, everything I mentioned regarding that is based off UA-cam reviews.
So I have a Pro tac XL on my Recce 14 with the cloud defense pressure pad mount, however I hate streamlights tail switch wire as it doesn't activate the light depending if the wire is at a angeld position etc. Will the surefire tail cap (your setup) still work with my cloud defense streamlight light mount? I'd hate to re-buy a different setup cause of the wire switches. Thanks
You can use the Surefire ST07 pressure switch with the Cloud Defensive LCS mounting system. Then you just need a Arisaka Tailcap adapter and a Surefire Tailcap and you are ready to rock and roll. I’m running the Surefire SR07 which does not fit with the cloud defensive mounts but I’ve seen people modify it to work if you wanted to go down that route
