Isn't his df2 the best in the game? Safe mid launcher (that launches duckers also). Anyone know?
@@Magar6 I would say it's the best df2 in the game. The main thing a df2 that launches crouchers is even really necessary for is to add to a character's mid/low mix up. Paul already has about the most dangerous mid/low mix up in the game (and top throw game), so his df2 not launching crouchers is inconsequential. It would be the best df2 by 3 miles instead of just one if it launched crouchers.
It does what a DF2 needs to do generally. Launch on normal hit and be strong at panic/evasion. Which it does that basically the best of any DF2 in the game while being safe.

Paul has always been one of my favorite characters. I feel he’s one of the few who has a high percentage of command moves I can use because they hold some sort of value
I admire Joey’s Paul so much. I am glad you made this video with him, it’s so damn informative.
It is good to hear Joey saying "it is difficult to open players with good defense up" because I always felt that way. One backdash from your opponent and your Demo Man / Deathfist 50/50 goes out the window. Besides, it is risky anyway.

Nice content. Paul mains will already know this, but for newer Pauls I think it's worth mentioning that after d+1 or as a WS punisher you can go into the Just Frame wc df+2, 1.
That's some good advice right there. I need to be adding this to my toolset/flowcharts.

I picked up Marduk on a whim and watched your video with Joey. A week later I decided "lets try Paul" for no real reason. I've been enjoying him and just came across this video. LOTS of useful information that I haven't seen anywhere. Great stuff. I know this is a little late, but keep up these videos. They're immensely helpful.

about the thing with the weird input buffering: there are a lot of chain throws which you can mash out. the buffering system is really interesting because certain things become possible that were really hard before. really interesting system!

Hey King Jae awesome video learnd a lot about Paul. But there is one thing i just can´t do. It´s the Ultimate Punishment grab. I am nowww strugiling for over a month and still not been able to do it once in training mode. Can you please make a video or something.

It's not actually that weird, you use the same buffering patterns for multi-throws with King
e.g. instead of pressing 2, 1+2, 1+2+3 you can just press 1+2 once, the press it again and hold while simultaneously pressing (and holding) 3.

I really love then concept for videos and the collaboration but sometimes you talk about a move like down 1+2 for Paul or some other move that may or may not be important but I would to see move demonstrated so I know that’s the move I can’t just throw out right then and there

Might be just my observation but green and yellow rank Paul's are all about that mixup game. Once they get that somersault it's their game. After that the lack of mids is barely seen.

And that's all Paul has. Big hits. They could've AT LEAST let him keep his knock down b1,2. Doesn't help that he's honest as all hell. No jailing pokes so he gives up his turn on block. He's hard man.
@@kingizengar Can I suggest you use more f1+2 if you feel this way? Try it and watch your opponents squirm with your plus frames.
@ballyman Please use f1+2 more often. You'll see the top TWT Paul's use this somewhat frequently (not in a spammy way, but it should be always on your mind when deciding what offensive move to use).
Imagine a "teach me" video with a leroy main. That would be a total waste of time lol

But!!!! I cant backdash with sway characters like paul this is so sensitive when you want to escape some mix up situations thats the most demanding part of learning sway chararcter

To get the best out of paul you'll be getting counter hits. A counter hit king is paul
To break pauls ultimate tackle press 2. 1+2 flips tackle over and tackle punch paul with 1 2 1 2. Pretty unsafe in high profile games to try ultimate punishment.

It's 15f. The in-game frame data says 13f because it doesn't take into account the d and d/f parts of the QCF, which can't be buffered.

When you're Paul or Drag and you're tackled:
1+2, 2, 2, 2, 2 beats the arm bar
1, 1, 2 reverses the right punch
2 blocks the left punch
1+2, 1+2, 2, 2, 2 does all three
