Just purchased myself the Naim ndx2 from Peter Tyson today at a great price... They really are a fantastic retailer with second to none customer service!
I have always found them to have amazing customer care. Have bought a lot from them over the years and never found them to be lacking in after sales care.
I'd have to agree that naim is over priced.... But i trust naim... I purchased the cdi back in 94, the 01 back in 95 & so on... naim have NEVER let me down... When it comes time to move my products on I always get a very fair price...They still support and service most of their products... The best thing about naim is you don't actually have to buy their products if you don't want to!! Just buy something else, mate 👍
I actually feel cd is making a comeback, cd sales are up and there’s loads of new models coming out, I tried an expensive server streamer and didn’t like it. Bought a new cd player and sold the Melco. I love cd and buy loads. Even bought extra replacement laser mechanisms for it.
CD's became popular for a reason. Sure, popping a vinyl on a turntable every now and then brings back fond memories but what a PITA they are to deal with. A quality CD is more than enough for 99.99% of the human ears listening to them. Plus you can buy them at any junk store for a buck. 👍
I believe CD’s will make a comeback and the prices will rise again. Nobody predicted the meteoric rise in vinyl record sales but it’s happened. Hi Fi manufacturers are still producing CD players so it must be cost effective or they wouldn’t bother.
I’m not in the UK, but is this really a product we need, I would be saving more money for a Cambridge Audio CXA61 or for a Rega Brio, I just don’t see a market for these, competition is always a good thing!
Ah. Like Cambridge Audio is to Richer Sounds! Unfortunately, I won't go near CA as I had a full system of separates and they all failed, amp, 2 x cd players and DAB radio kept dropping signal or just cutting out completely. I wish them well, but it's not an easy market to get into. They need plenty of reviews and testing to make a lasting impact on the market.
@@analogueman5364 You can get a Roksan Atessa CD transport and amp for 1k and also an Audiolab CD player and amp. Both of those are bundle offers but I think that so is the Fell audio combo.
Hi , great video, I have Rotel a11 tribute although it didn’t have digital other than Bluetooth but pretty good amp, i like the upgrade version has dac buts it missing sub o/put that put me off . Great they bought out A8 tho .regards mark
@ hi, yes absolutely you now can’t beat the new range of amps with blue tooth and dac built in now , I used to have Rotel many years ago and Rotel does get good reviews . I do have a Chinese valve amp to increase level of my internet tuner I have . Regards mark
@keithsnowdon8672 it’s a fact of life that China is a world dominator in terms of manufacturing. Some electronics components will be sourced from China but that will apply to every brand out there it’s just the way of the world now. Manufacturing costs are too high and unsustainable otherwise to even try and compete. If they want to design and build this gear in the UK and keep it at sane price levels there is no way every single IC chip, capacitor, resistor, screw etc could be sourced all from just the UK.
When I inquired to FELL last month about buying these and doing a review, this company said it has no plans to ship their products to America, so you’re out of luck unless you go there get one yourself ..

I am interested in these, but I do require somewhere there's an hdmi arc input. I am hoping th streamer as it, then I would get all three. I am in love with the design aesthetic, very 80s technoir. Does anyone know if the streamer will have hdmi input?
From what I've read HDMI licensing is expensive, and adding a port can add over GBP100 to a component. They probably omitted this to save costs. But I doubt the streamer will have it too. Here's a workaround - get a One For All universal remote, you can program it to always adjust the volume on the amp regardless of component you're using. I have one and it works brilliantly. So in this way, you can connect your TV via optical and still only use one remote.
Inhaler drives are not what’s to be expected at this price point. Just look at NAD, Marantz, Yamaha, Denon and such like. Personally I think the amplifier measurements look a little strange I’d like to see it tested on a test bench to pass a judgement. I don’t think the products are particularly cheap. They aren’t high end, but definitely not cheap enough to be sniffed at. I quite like the look other than I didn’t realise they would be so green even with the power off. Also being capacitive touch on a glossy panel they will show fingerprints terribly.
Looks cheap .... No loudness control, No Bass or Treble control no way I would waste money on these. You don't like my opinion please keep it too yourself I'm not buying this product and I really don't care about your thought's on tone controls if you like it buy it.
I agree about tone controls omitting them is only to save cost. Bass in particular generally needs some kind of EQing from room to room and there are no such provisions here.
Advance Paris X-i75 £500 to £750 depending where you buy it is a great amplifier. It has tone controls, Bluetooth, sub-out, optical and coax in, and 75 watts into 8 ohms.

@andrewlittleboy8532 would have to agree with you. I want to own my music in a physical format & I like the fact im supporting the artist. Modern-day records can be very hit & and miss sound wise. Also, the prices are becoming ridiculous... cd's are becoming more and more popular again!

I like the fact the amp mutes on startup - you protect your hearing and your speakers that way. Not a problem for me at all.
@@MohsinWadee that's what I was thinking
Also amusing that the reviewer checks everything else first like input selection rather than just turning the volume up 😂
Yesterday we were in HMV - Exeter.
One student selected & purchased 4 cds including One Direction 🎶
Available in the US?
There's an A&R A60-ish vibe to the Fell gear.

A really informative video, thank you. The world's most affordable British-made CD and amp combo by all accounts.
Always be an argument over LP CD TAPE even Network, for me cd is still the best for music playback .
Why did Fell not make it a CD transport instead, seems you are buying the DAC twice if you pair the CD and Amp which they clearly want you to do.
Because they're trash before they started
Have you ever tested a Tom Evans Pre-Amp?
🤣
😂
😂😂😂😂
Hopefully we'll see Fell at the 2025 Bristol Hifi show?
Looks nice, but there is some strong competition at that price.
Is there? Other than Chifi I'm not sure there is. Who is the competition here at £1k for an amp and CD player?

Rotel, it will be alright. A cheap Chinese amp would very likely have better sound quality for a fifth of the cost.

Wonderwall will sound great
Making them 120V compatible would be a variation in design and production they probably can’t afford without putting the prices up.

I don't own a smart phone. I really don't like them and many are going over to 'dumb' phones for the sake of their psychological well being.
Not in love with the looks, shiny facia etc. although it may be solid it looks plasticy. but just my take and sure many disagree with me.
