Yes this is an amazing story. I'm black and I live in Missouri and have never heard of this it's so crazy that will not talk this in our history books. They don't talk about it in black history month seems our African American history is a little whitewashed leaving out details of important events.

Thanks to professor Anderson for a brief and informative description. I have begun reading the first of two books I purchased on Rev. Whitfield he worked with my grandfather in St Louis on a political campaign and rally to address the Howard Lynching. He is one of those men who devoted his life to addressing inequality but sadly is not as well known as others who did less.

My great grandfather was a tenant farmer in the Bootheel. Similar to a sharecropper, their home was owned by the farmer and their groceries were purchased at his store on credit which was ran by his wife. The farmer's family would pass down their store bought clothes to my cousins. This was as late as the 1970's.

This STORY CONCERNS the STATE of MISSOURI, but it SHOWS how WIDE SPREAD in the the SOUTH and MIDWEST or HEART LAND of this NATION was the AGRACLUTURAL BASE of this NATION which for YEARS FEED only this NATION but probably at least 25 PERCENT of the rest of the WORLD . LIKE the WORKER the AMERICAN FARMER was the MOST PRODUCTIVE FARMER in the WORLD. GROWING so much that the AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT CREATED PROGRAMS for them not to PLANT and GROW some CROPS , MILK , BUTTER CHEESE were SURPLUS IDEMS which were GOOD and BAD in way . The GREAT DEPRESSION the WORST DROUGHT in a HUNDRED YEAR'S to the MID WEST along the BANKING CRISS in this NATION caused the WORST TIME in this NATION HISTORYS and without the FAR SIGHTENESS of INDIVIDUALS in this NATION and SOCIETY . The WORLD ERUPTING into WAR in both EUROPE and the FAR EAST at the same TIME the PRESIDENT and PEOPLE of this NATION that pulled though most do understand why those that know for TIME in HISTORY the FAULT had to be put aside and they did .EVERY CITIZEN of this of EVERY COLOR had to PULL their WEIGHT in it if not it ALL would have been LOST. RACISM ,SEXISM ,, CHAVAISM the FLAUTS which had in way ad HELD this NATION BACK had to be OVERCOME for to WAR and was . For so REASON in the SMALL MINDEDNESS of today WORLD some want to REBUILD and RETURN to a TIME which HELD this NATION and SOCIETY to a PERIOD which did not BENIFIT this NATION and SOCIETY buy HURT it MORE then HELPED it , I think WE NEED to THINK about before REGRESSING in the WORLD instead of PROGRESSING in the WORLD.

Most of us or a majority of America"black and white" can somehow in a way relate the job we have right now to that same situation... Slavery is just modernized and organized now! The only thing that has changed is time and technology!!. There hate is still here.

You can't shame thieves into doing the right thing. Thieves have no integrity and they only love mammon. Ultimate responsibility for this gross injustice lies with the federal government.

The federal government was and still is complicit in the downfall of black people. Endless analysis of this fact is of no effect without a plan of action to compensate the victims of such crimes.

My family’s surname is Jacobs and I’m struggling where they originate and from what I have figured out that they were freed slaves before 1865, if I’m wrong help me understand cause the only slave owner with our last name doesn’t list my family members.

This story is crazy. We settle for the least just to have a story to tell. Common people come together when there’s an “appearance” of trifling troubles. As if, the struggles that lead to these conditions that exist right now aren’t apparent to the eye. The commoners are weak and not insisting on unity until it benefits a cause that will evolve towards their organization getting a plaque for their efforts of humanitarianism. Smh. People in America are scared and weak. Afraid and ignores our ability to unite and implode justice and prosperity for all.

There’s a knowledge gap between the African Americans and Africans on the continent. Africans on the continent for long have been oblivious of the struggles of American Americans. Bridging that gap will go a long way in helping Africans worldwide.
