    Thanks Henry! One thing I like about your Vitamix videos is you show the whole cycle. Many other people, including the Vitamix people, skip the blending and just show it when it's done. Seeing the whole cycle is great, I think anyway. Love you showing various recipes!

    I just ordered the 750; it should be arriving within the week. After watching your video, I am sure that I picked the right Vitammix for me. There are so many models and packages to choose from! Please keep making VM videos; this was so informative.

    Thank you for explaining how the Vitamix works. I had a negative feeling about having to use the tamper. Now that I understand how the machine works, I bought 2 of them. One for myself and one for my daughter.. I'm excited about getting healthy.

    Thank you so much for this video! You gave an excellent explanation/demonstration on cavitation, vortex, and use of the tamper.
    I'm looking at buying the 750 pro series model or Vitamix The Quiet Onein the next few months. This really helps me get a feel for the real life usage and what to expect.
    Thanks again!

    Well the recipe that the 750 comes with is completely geared towards the 750. Many recipes will call for the presets to be used and the rest using the variable control. The included DVD is also very good and has some nice easy recipes showing you how to use it step by step. I'm excited for you!

    Oh, believe me, I will be sending some questions your way. Like you, I was taught to cook by my family (mom was a Home Economics instructor), so I absolutely LOVE a good kitchen appliance. I literally researched this to death before choosing Vitamix and then making the plunge for the 750. There aren't any cookbooks geared for it yet, but perhaps we will be a part of that future; it is new, and almost revolutionary in design. It had me with the physics behind the vortex!

    Hi Perrynm, you're already on the right track freezing your veggies and I will recommend that you freeze spinach and kale if they are part of your diet, they last long in the freezer. Apples can be frozen, however they have a pretty long shelf life on the counter or fridge. In the freezer the texture changes and they are best for baking. Bananas however should definitely be frozen for longevity when they turn brown or freckle. Perfect for smoothies and to make ice cream and they last for weeks.

    Hey Congrats on your new Vitamix purchase. I'm guessing you meant Pro 300 vs. Pro 750? If so then yes, the only difference between the two are preprogrammed presets. The Pro 750 does has improved styling and is the only one available between the two in Brushed Stainless finish.

You'll be fine, it's so much fun. In the mornings, rather than cereal I love my Oatmeal Banana Green smoothie. Almond milk or soy, banana, 4 tbs rolled oats (not instant oats) 2 cups of spinach and/or kale. During the day I like my green apple, orange, lime, spinach and kale smoothie. I put greens in all of them.

    Great video! I'm itching to get me one and I will probably get one ths month when I find a good deal. I was watching videos from blenderlady and she blends for 2 minutes because she says it pulverizes the enzymes to the max so that you get the most out of your smoothie drink. Of course she adds alot of ice so it doesn't make it into soup.

    The 750 is the next generation of Vitamix. The Turbo Blend VS is the older series. The next generation of Vitamix offers the new wider and low profile blending container that fits under most cabinets and it offers more efficient blending due to the wider design and larger blade. It offers a 4" blade size vs. the 3" blade size on the Turbo Blend VS. The next generation also has a quiet motor and a new cooling system to handle longer blending times and heavier ingredients.

    Hey Chavitavb! That is awesome!! How did you do that? The Wildside Jar wouldn't fit on my Vitamix 750. It must only fit on the VM 5200 like yours or did you mod it? I have a 750 on order-Pearl grey. The metal finish 750 are no longer available. Just black or Pearl grey. I have an Ascent-but just wanted a 750 anyway. I enjoy using my Ascent 3500 Gold Lable in gold color. I also obtained a “gold” 48 oz jug to match! It works well like the other VM jars. Cavitation occurs not just on blenders-happens with boat and ship propellers. The cavitation can be destructive to ship and boat props. It erodes the blades. The VM blades are made of SS this is harder than the bronze boat and ship props are made of. The VM blades forms the cavity where ingredients aren’t going into the blades-hence the tamper or stomper to break the cavitation allowing items to get into the blades. For boats and ships you have to slow down on the engine throttle.

  • @AB-80X
    @AB-80X 9 років тому

    Cavitation is something different. In a blender like this, cavitation is something desirable as it helps breaking down the cell structure of the ingredients. The phenomenon in the bottom is simply an air pocket or what some call "ventilation" when talking about a propeller in water, which happens when air is drawn in faster than liquid, unlike the formation of steam bubbles due to low pressure zones on the trailing edge and tips of the blades, just like cavitation of a boat propeller. When these bubbles burst, they create supersonic shock waves that has power enough to break down cell structures of the ingredients which help liquefy the content. The forces of these bubbles bursting is actually powerful enough to impact the metal surface of the blades. It can over time slowly erodes the blade edges and tips, a phenomenon known as "Cavitation Burns".
    Otherwise, great explanation of the mechanics - pretty spot on:-I

  • @BlendingWithHenry

    Before learning about the Vitamix I had the same feeling as you did about the Tamper. I think the concerns have been that Blendtec has advertised in the past that they don't need a tamper. They no longer advertise this, especially after they have designed their new Twister Cup that works similarly to the Vitamix/Tamper combo. It's $120 extra though. I think they were a bit afraid to admit that the tamper is a very powerful and necessary tool.

    Hi Juilkca, I know the Blenderlady, she's awesome. It really depends on what you're blending. Most blending times for the Vitamix shouldn't last more than 30-60 seconds. Over-blending certain ingredients can actually cause oxidation and destroys many of the important nutrients. For smoothies your blending time shouldn't last longer than 60 seconds. If you purchase a Vitamix through me I can provide you special perks. Let me know and I will give you that information. Thanks for your support!

    • @BlendingWithHenry
      @BlendingWithHenry  8 років тому

      +Shweta Desai You do have to use more ingredients when using the shorter container because it's wide in shape with a larger blade. I always recommend to invest in the 32oz wet container as a companion.

    • @BlendingWithHenry
      @BlendingWithHenry  8 років тому

      +Shweta Desai No difference. The 2.0 hp machines use the tall 64oz container with a 3" blade. The 2.2 hp machines use the shorter/wider 64oz container with the larger 4" blade. The extra hp is to drive the larger blade. Blend quality is 100% the same.

    This is a "green smoothie" in COLOR alone. That was a really measly amount of veg compared to sugar (fruit).

    • @BlendingWithHenry
      @BlendingWithHenry  10 років тому

      4 out of 6 of the ingredients are green. Kale (which a lot of it was used), spinach, pears and green apple. That's considered a green smoothie.

    • @radikl_ed
      @radikl_ed 10 років тому

      Henry PJ Honestly, by that logic if you have a smoothie with 99% fruit, but 4 out of 6 ingredients are green, then it's a "green smoothie". In reality that's a fruit smoothie.
      Which is perfectly fine. Fruit smoothies are delicious - and a little greens are better than none at all. But if you're looking for a nutrient dense smoothie, you need to totally reverse the volume of the sugary foods with the volume of the greens here. Just my opinion, no expert.

    • @BlendingWithHenry
      @BlendingWithHenry  10 років тому

      Green is green whether or not it's fruit or veggies. However if you only qualify a true green smoothie as one with hardly any sugar then you should take a look at my detox smoothie I make every morning. I have a video for it in this link.
