- John Lloyd Young talks about his transition from an enthusiastic theater patron in Broadway theaters to starring in "Jersey Boys," and winning a Tony award in his Broadway debut. Paul Larson conducted this interview in the word-famous restaurant Sardis, where caricatures of the star gaze upon the diners. This piece originally aired on "Art Express" in 2006. "Art Express" is a production of Mountain Lake PBS.
his story is so inspiring... i love John Lloyd Young.
He's amazing.
j'dore!
It was a hard work and he did a super job...he was fantastic in Jersey Boys.
You are one of my favorite actors John. Keep it up.
Love this talented guy, have the movie and watch it a lot. He is very handsome too.
+Janet Wheeler And he was the most adorable little boy. He was all smiles, even back then.
John Lloyd Young perfect complete artist !
Eye candy! His voice is really nice too!
Perfectly said I agree.
I'm seriously in love with this talented, kind and generous man!!!💋💋💋
Me too! I am praying that I can meet him someday and give him the biggest hug on the planet!
Dara
+Dara Roberts Don't you just love the relationship he has w/ his parents? And it's so adorable, how even Frankie himself couldn't tell the difference between their voices.
+Danielle Musella Yes! And I can't even tell the difference myself!
Dara
Dara Roberts I had a moment like that, while watching the movie. "My Eyes Adored You" played in the background as Frankie left the house after Mary kicked him out. Knowing that sprinklings of the real man had been included in the film, I wasn't sure if that particular moment was his voice or John's.
+Danielle Musella It was John's. Frankie Valli's voice only appears in some of the Four Seasons songs that are played during the closing credits of the movie. I've been to several of John's live shows and I can tell the difference instantly. IMO, John Lloyd Young is a much better singer! :)
Loved him in Jersey Boys, so talented. Very handsome and a beautiful smile
+Carol Robin Gorfien Those cute dimples can make a girl melt. I know I did when I saw the movie. Like, in the scene where he's singing to a red-haired girl in the audience & looks her up-&-down in that "How YOU doin'?" kind of way, I'm pretty sure I blushed in the theater.
I love the Jeresy Boys, especially since I'm from that era (1960s.) I didn't expect (Jeresy Boys) to like it, but after I viewed & heard John sing....I was a gonner !! Keep up the great singing & the very best to you !!!!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE HIM!!!!!

Is his neck longer in this video, or is it just me seeing that?
He was very young here and you typically thicken when you age.
