Beautiful car brother. It’s clear too see you take care of it and truly love it. And you’re absolutely right, they are hard to find in good shape, with a good owner who properly takes care of it. Keep up the great work!
IT IS great to see people taking care of these SN95/New Edge Stangs! I have a 98 with all PI engine upgrades 4:19 and the rest of the car is rust free (In Michigan of all places) and mint inside and out. A riot to drive. Built, not bought I always say. Even the OEM Rad and heater hoses. looks like it did the day I picked it up on my birthday in Oct 98. Love the lobe of those cams, BTW! Thanks for taking care of this classic!
New Edge and SN95s are a great platform for any kind of build. They’re relatively cheap and abundant, have a ton of aftermarket support and decades of a knowledge base too. Whatever you want do do: motor swap, drag car, AutoX, Drift, Hill Climb etc., has already been done many times by many people. The Mod motors respond very good to boost, 2V and even more so the 4V. The 8.8 is stout and can be upgraded to 31 spline axels inexpensively. The chassis are based on the 78 Fairmont so still have an old school feel to them like a classsic muscle car but are easy to make handle and brake with even factory parts. That throw out bearing: I’m sure you know but if not, they need a little preload on them and not a little play like most.
I agree with you 100%! As for the throwout bearing I have it adjusted it to where it needs to be, I did that a little after recording this video.. its better but not great. I'll just have to live with it!
@@midnight347 You are absolutely correct! Same platform but there’s a lot of people who prefer one over the other so they seem to be treated as separate. I’ll even go as far to say, based on their size compared to the following generations (05-Today) SN95 Mustangs are the last of the true “Pony” cars 😁

I love this content. I have a 2003 GTc and yes I recently had my throw out bearing replaced 😮. My GT convertible only has 25,000 miles. My dad used to have it and barely drove it. BTW, your fuel/gas is $7.40 per US gallon. So expensive! It’s $3.46/gallon here
Thanks for the video! Many good points. My 99 GT has that throw out bearing chirp and it drives me nuts. You probably know this, but after much research, the bearing is supposed to have a little bit of preload on the clutch fingers, and that noise goes away. Supposedly that's how it's designed to work. I just ordered a clutch cable kit with the firewall adjuster, so I can dial it in. My factory plastic adjuster is skipping, and not allowing me to adjust it properly. I daily drive mine, and have a blast. What a fun car! hanks for the video!
Appreciate the comment! I have the cable adjuster but unfortunately where I have it set, the bearing makes noise but the pedal grabs at the perfect height so ill have to deal with it ! Haha
4.10 gears are your main contributor poor gas mileage in town. I put CMS cams in my 02, I have other bolt ons and dyno tune, but still use the factory 3.27 gear. Gas mileage is not noticeably different from stock.
What's the specs on that cms cam? I know with a lot of the cams on the market you need to run a higher gear ratio for those cams to work? That was the case with mine.. 3.73 minimum recommendation. The 4.10s are fun, the gas mileage isn't a complaint! How much power did yours put down to the wheel?
@@infernoauto 540"/.550" lift, 224/226 .050" duration, 110 LSA. I was big on wanting to keep it a cruiser, and to keep the powerband at a similar range to factory. There was no loss down low (that is where the need for gear comes in, because it will raise the power band to a higher RPM, and you need the gear to get your RPMS higher faster. I'm just cams, CAI, 70mm tb/plenum, OR-H, catback, w/ a dyno tune, and its puts 283/313 RW (max torque was under 4K , so better than factory), and they pull hard till I let off near 6K. with long tubes and an upgraded fuel system, it will make the 300RWHP mark +/-. Not too shabby out of a little bolt on 2V.
I had your transmission issue, I took out the transmission. My pilot bearing was non existent, my clutch fork was also not fully seated down on the pivot stud and to make it worse it wasn’t fully threaded in. I bought the car from a “mechanic” I replaced everything, good thing im actually a mechanic 😂
I always say if you start modifying any car for performance, gas mileage shouldn’t even be a concern. No one buys a sports car for better fuel economy. 😅 It’s been said a thousand times but your car is beautiful. I’m deciding between a 4V 03-04 Cobra or a Fox Body. Older mustangs just look cooler to me.

Problem here in America. People tear these cars up. So ya there is more here. But clean ones are kinda hard to find
I love this car. I want one for my 16th birthday and I'm trying to convince my dad. Thanks!

Use Ford OEM throw out bearing, they dont screach.
Yo make a video about preventative maintenance
Always use Ford OEM throw out bearing. Every other TOB is junk and WILL squeak.
what kinda tuner are u using?
If the peddle is vibrating it means the clutch is on a timetable before it grenades
Old clutch did it, new clutch does it. Everything in there has been replaced 🤷♂️
My car sat for 7 years. Now the Theft light stays on but will start. Any idea?
I had compcams but car hunted often. Why?
where did you get those lights that are in the interior ?
Amazon

It’s the cams that are killing your mpg, the other mods you have won’t really affect it
Them interior lights nice!! Where did you get them?.
Amazon! They change colour and do flow patterns and what not

Of course I now find a pair sorry if I wasted your time bro
If you don’t mind me asking bro how you lower your car that low
I have a 99 GT that's my daily driver. You gotta enjoy them.
buddy! what wheels and tire specs are you running!?
What engine do you have and what cams are you running? Do you like the gears in the rear end?
He literally said the first 2 things your asking in the first minute of the video….
STAGE 2 COMP and 4.10

It's weird, I had replaced all those parts as well. Still the same before and after.
You put all those things to increase smileage, not mileage.
You got that right! You buy a car like this to have fun. Gas costs and all that doesn't really matter :)
I'm confused on those gas prices lol
Nice video, you must be ib Ontario given the fuel price eehehehe Im in Calgary and I daily a 2000 v6 manual convertible. 130k

$7 a gallon is fuckin nuts 😭😭
What floor lights are those? What stage cam is it and what wheels are those?
My 4Runner gets the same mileage
Mine does the same thing that throw out bearing (5dp)
21lb, 03-04 came with that. That's what I have.

I have one and I love it
You spent almost $62 US to fill up. Thats insane. Thats almost $5.34 a gallon. But hey healthcare is free right? I pay around $3 for 93 in Texas.
haha yup! The prices have been a bit better a little after I filmed this.. closer to $1.70/l for 91 I believe. It's crazy out here for sure.
yeah those gas prices are insane! I have a New Edge and I'm in Texas too
Smiles per gallon
Lol you wanna talk about going thru gas quickly... my mustang can drain a full tank in 14 minutes of WOT
I'll take your word for that haha. I don't wanna test what 14 mins of WOT will do to my car. Probably break something 😂😂
