honestly, i fricking hated ds3, everything just felt wrong. didn't know what in the actual f i was doing, dropped the game after 3 hours. beaten elden ring and sekiro multiple times. was much much more player friendly in terms of letting the player learn objectives and game mechanics, a lot heavier in lore too, ds3 just felt empty... read descriptions?... really?? hard pass.
@@elemenopi4827 I liked it a lot and it was also my first Souls game. But yeah, the fights are tought. I guess that goes to show how good I am that I didn't feel frustrated but fell in love with the games.

They had no right to make this fight so good. The music, the flow of the movements, the random Watchers doing Watchers things, god I want to play this game again. Thank you for the translation!
I understand how kanataso felt when she the first time fight abyss watcher. That boss is freaking cool, so edgy also has one of the best boss theme too
Yeah even tho he isn't that hard because he is still considered part of early bosses, Abyss Watcher is probably still a top 5 the most coolest bosses in souls universe for me...
The story of dark soul 3 is that no one linked the fire for so long it resurrected older being that already did. The farron legion was one of them. But they have abandoned their “duty”, hence why the flame resurrected us. The flame want to be linked so when a lord is wounded/ on the bring of death it give them fire attributes.
I don't really see Gwyn in their moveset. The fire flowing through the sword and lingering after hits is more like a continuation of Lady Maria than it is Gwyn.
This boss is so much fun to watch new players fight. The struggle as you fight one of them, slowly learning his moves, only to be caught off guard by a second, and then the subsequent panic, followed by confusion as the third appears and begins attacking its friends.
Sick clip! There was this moment where Akame felt like a main character of an anime lmao. Came out of nowhere and at the right time just to save Kanatan.
It's funny because it's probably more about her just taking a moment to cool off and look at the fight differently, rather than changing weapons. Same thing happened with the Stray Demon fight, Stray is immune to frost debuff/damage but she one-shot it after swapping to the sword after struggling with her longsword.
I can’t fucking wait for her to fight Sister Friede. Btw has anyone ever noticed the Undead bell tolls throughout the Abyss Watchers theme? Pretty incredible.
I wish you would include her reaction after trying out the boss weapon she gets after this fight. Seeing her reaction to the movesets as well as the included parry she might change to it after she gets the required stats. also, Irithel Sword is like the DS3 version of the DS1 Drake SWord. So good to get early game making the newbie stick to it but would hinder you late game
I was sooo wanting her to get Artorius's Greatsword... that thing carried my first playthrough of DS3. I eventually adopted the Dragonslayer's Greataxe as my main eventually, but that sword is just peak perfection
Here's a thing about pontiff he is meant for right dodging people most people dodge right, i died on him like 40-50 times i nearly gave up when learned to just dodge left he didnt even hit once didnt need to even dodge just go left nearly all attack miss beat him on first try
Ice weapons are the coolest I remember carrying it until the end with my Broadsword until I updated it to Dragoon Tooth + Onix Longsword (full agility so, ninja hitting hard)
I quit DS3 on this boss, the game just instilled contempt in me for many things soulslike. Years pass. Decided screw it and give Elden Ring a shot. It better accustomed me to what is needed to win and its relaxed nature kept me engaged, now that I'm close to finishing it, it may finally be time to go back and right the wrongs of the past.
I would say that Abyss Watchers is the biggest difficulty spike in the game. DS3 was my first Dark Souls game and it took more attempts than anything else. The Pontiff is a close second though because he has a similar style to the Abyss Watchers with a focus on rapid sword slash combos except the Pontiff is even a little faster. Many bosses in Elden ring are similarly fast though.
Imagine Kanatan reaching Sister Friede and react to the 3rd phase.. Or watching Midir spawn those lasers... Man it will take a while to see that i guess...
So many people find this boss super easy and then there are some who struggle against it so much. I love this boss and Kanata makes it much better, i love her reactions.
I wish I could play this game again for the first time. New Game pluses, fresh new games, it just wasn't the same. I feel the same way about Sekiro tbh
When I was killed by the abyss watcher in the game, I was thinking I am okay with it while the music and his movement, his design was amazing. I was thinking I'm gonna spend a time with this vibe. Lol
In Elden Ring there are many double bosses, but we have summon magic. Here in Dark Souls, there is no summon magic. It might be rough, but doable. Btw, this boss is my favorite boss back then.
