The second I heard "Hedging" I KNEW what the comments were going to be like
If you see two fish fighting,it means a British boat has just passed by
Interesting, this right here might be difficult to used, especially people like me, we debaters need to convince everyone that our argument is the correct one to go, instead of others, hence we must be very convincing
Context matters though. It might sounds rude or disrespectful if you talk in a way that is too direct like in the video.
Edging is an acquired english technique
what do you know about britain?
me: a place where you can find bunch of robbers
I suppose the only thing they can rob in west Asia is unhygienic food. 😂
@@Vivek_Patil754 never knew some smelly country can yield money that much. Maybe England just sell all turds that those 2 billions Indians made😂
The way to talk in total tolerance 😊. Thank you.
I like the way Eli say "Oh" by holding a cup of tea in hand amazing expression n answer as well

wow, describing the subject by hedging verbs makes the sentence more interesting than describing by linking verbs.
the “ooohhh” i dunno he’s cute
It has been proven that hedging reduces returns over the long run.
Cheers! seem to appear to be tend to avoid it is often assumed 🎉🎉
Thanks for hedging's technique to not gernalize or say something like it's 100% certain 😂
Thanks

I love how it started off with him saying the most based things.
Cheers was personal
I would like to ask that if we use more of the everyday english (american english) instead of really formal english (kinda like british english) would we get a lower score? Like i use some slangs and contractions in my everyday english that i wouldnt wanna let go of while trying to speak naturally and fluently.
As for whether to use British English or American English, you should pick one and stick to it when it comes to spelling in writing. For example, if you're going with British spelling, don't use centre then center. If you write favour, go with favourite instead of favorite. Definitely don't jump from one to the other. Stay consistent. When speaking, there are some differences in grammar and expressions. You should use idiomatic language but avoid being overly casual as it is an interview.
"it is often assumed", suggests it is assumed by others and that you may not agree with the statement. I would expect your argument to then argue against the statement or evaluate it.
I Edged while Reading comments
Hi Eli. How have You been? l am glad to see You..Always You surprised us with your own new and useful methods for us
Once in my class i was reading and read the word often my teacher shouted at me and said it is called ofen not often i tried to tell her that its about the accent but she didn't believe me until she googled it herself
👏👏👏👏👏
"It is often assumed" can also be a claim and you might be asked assumed by who? Meaning this should be backed up by evidence. I would choose British prople seem to complain all the time. ..
I love your videos Eli ❤ keep up the good work.
Hi, where you learned to speak English so fluently?
What do you know about Britain?
me: they drink bo''le o' wa''er
But we do complain all the time and the weather is cold and wet
the uk loves soccer like the us loves money
👌
This response looks like what an AI would say lol
I never get this question but if I get, I’m sure I will die
But the question was "What do you know about BRITAIN?" Not British people 🤔
That’s a very good point. The original question for this video was about British people, but I changed it to make it shorter. I hope the lesson still helps you!
thats my Mark Zuckerberg, lovely lovely❤
while i can see it being useful...the weather is always wet, if its summer your sweating, the walls are somehow sweating, even the air is wet.
However, wouldn't it be a mistake if someone starts to provide general opinions instead of saying theirs if the question crealy suggest the latter?
Is is just the way normal people talk
Uhm ,ohh sir ,is our english accent important in ielts speaking test?,Does it effect our score?
Your accent should not affect your pronunciation score as long as you speak clearly and can be understood. The examiner is listening for pronunciation features such as clear enunciation of individual sounds, connected speech, rhythm, word/sentence stress, chunking, and intonation.
English with Kevin de Bruyne
Oooooo
How to write and speak like you're afraid of who you're talking to.

אני יודעת הבריטים הם נשנשים כאלה😂
Some random arrogant guy:
I don’t mean to be rude, but uh… if you are trying to show off in front of someone who is more experienced than you… isn’t it just dumb?😅
Why is Kevin De Bruyne teaching me English?
So do people not normally talk like this?
