As a croat, this movie made me cry. I can't believe a country can be so damn evil. Kyle's death in this movie literally devastated me, I was bawling my eyes out, crying
At that time '91., Croatia still had no weapons (tanks, artillery, etc.) except light personal weapons from the police + hunting rifles and a big brave heart! The Serbs used the weapons of the former joint army JNA. In those days, over 3,000 people were criminally murdered in Vukovar (many fates are still unknown, the search for remains is ongoing)... After a war in which more than 1/3 of Croatia was occupied and ravaged, Vukovar was returned to Croatia in '97.! On the same day that the Serbs captured Vukovar, 18.XI, they also killed the entire (!) population of Škabrnja (in Croatia's southern region of Dalmatia) after the defenders surrendered when the Serbs placed the captured civilians in front of the tanks...

This movie is totally out of touch with reality. First the journalist would never be allowed by the military to go out and film the battlefield during the battle while the fight is still ongoing. Like whoever filmed this should have thought this out .
Yes, but note that the movie's plot revolves around one of those journalists seeking her husband in war circumstances. Besides, I get the notion that journalists taking photos convey a deeper message here - photographing the war's ugliness , cruelty and barbarism, and making It visible sharply for the movie's viewers.
