A little bit mistake about why Bajie can’t stay with her. It wasn’t because they are yaoguais but because Bajie was cursed as a punishment for his crime. His punishment is suffering love tragedy for 1000 lifetimes. That curse still persists, or he would already be back at the celestial court. In some version, Bajie is just his 500th reincarnation. It never ends well when Bajie found actual love, be it for him, his love, or both of them. He can have the best life, but when he found love, his life usually ends. It is the reason why he never acknowledge the Sixth Sister as his daughter. Having a family would resulted in them getting affected by the curse or punishment from the celestial court. The ending AMV is pretty interesting. Both Violet Spider and Bajie are soul mates and destined to meet and fall in love in every reincarnation but it will always end in tragedy. Bajie knows this so he doesn’t want her to suffer for/with him anymore. Violet Spider also knows this but she perseveres and wants to be with him no matter the suffering. This is not accurate to the source material but a very interesting spin on Bajie story and gives him much more depth. Also, Bajie left his prized possession, the “Preservation Orb”, at her grave.
And what sucks is that from JTTW to BMW Bajie I think didn't die so if he's at 500 reincarnations, he still has 500 more and he's been alive for the past 500 years in that version of himself since BMW apparently starts 500 years after Wukong dies.
Definitely my favorite Chapter and the peak of the game for me, it also has the Yellow Loong and Scorpionlord boss fights which taught me how to properly play the game.

There wouldn't be a need for the Jade Emperor to have an affair, as if he wished, he could simply order for any maiden to become his concubine. Now, I can't remember if he did have any, I'm 90% sure he's depicted as being very faithful to his wife as they're a representation of the ideal marriage in Chinese culture. 2.) Narratively, it makes more sense for someone UNDER the Jade Emperor ro be the catalyst for ZBJ's demotion and punishment as -- like the video pointed out -- having an authoritative figure being willing to disregard the rules for the sake of saving face/the greater good. This is all assuming that who ZBJ saw was even Hou Yi to begin with

In BMW, it seems that only two Heavenly Courts are depicted, but in Chinese mythology, there are actually three. The Eastern Heavenly Court is also divided into two factions: one led by the Jade Emperor, consisting of immortals who were once humans and ascended through cultivation, mainly governing the order of the human world. The other is led by Di Qun(帝俊), who is a deity born as a god, representing the embodiment of nature. The Golden Crow you mentioned in the video is Di Qun's son, not the Jade Emperor's

Right there is no clear evidences just pieces by pieces of info: My other theory is Xiwangmu want to create more weaving yaoguai to support her business or hobbies in weaving and clothing. But that's purpose seems too lowly for a highest deity like Xiwangmu. This only makes sense If my theory that Violet Spider are the Purple Fairy are true (7 Fairies are daughters of Xiwangmu). Maybe she want to do it for the sake of her daughter now have abandon fairy place, not have to live in poverty. A bit of contradiction there when you said love is forbidden in the heavens but Ba Jie still falls in love with Chang er or jade rabbit then openly chase after her. If it's forbidden they could of gotten rid of Ba Jie a lot earlier. Likely explanation is he saw something he shouldn't have something scandalous.
The rules forbidden love but some gods break the rules. There are many gods break the rules in Chinese old tales. One of them is the mother of the Erlang god

This tells us that he only spared her life because he recognised her as the celestial fairy and they rekindled and started a romantic affair. The affair leads to the birth of the youngest spider children which is heavily implied to be Bajie's daughter with Violet Spider. In the final scene of chapter 4's ending where we see Bajie wake up. He sees the JTTW party then he looks back to the Webbed Hollow village before joining the party once again. At that moment Bajie has to make a decision, give into his base desires that got him exiled from heaven by choosing a life of lust and love by staying at Webbed Hollow with Violet Spider, or continue his journey of self betterment. By choosing to continue the journey Bajie showed he has evolved as a character and overcome his prior shortcomings.
